Winter Arrives at The Little Cabin | Wrapping up The Homestead Work

- I can't count how many times we have said, "Snow is coming any day!" It has finally arrived!
The inches kept packing on the frozen ground and we did some final prep for the big snows. Stacking firewood outside of the cabin for easy 8-month-pregnant-lady access, pulling out the snowmobiles that we bought months ago, and wrapping up everything over at the future cabin/homestead site!
At the property, we stowed away all of the leftover construction materials into the connex. Starting with sliding in the heavy foundation posts and settling the leftovers of the concrete pallet on top. Luckily, we had used enough of the 80lbs bags for the tractor to be able to pick it all up in one shot.
The backhoe has been disconnected and tarped so that the box blade can take over and help us move some snow throughout the winter. We will have to rely on the tractor to get us in and out of the driveway so we can go to midwife appointments and eventually, head to town and have a baby!
Where we are currently living, at Levi's parents' cabins, we are about 3 miles or so past winter road maintenance. Therefore, we have to get the trucks to our property, which is on winter maintenance, before the snow gets too deep. Snowmobiling in and out with a newborn in December was the big reason for our big snowmobile purchase! With the new grocery-getting Skidoo Skandic, we can ride on the snow-packed roads nice and slowly with the little one.

Our baby is due mid-December of this year and we cannot wait to share the little one. When we do head to town for the birth, we will be sharing some pre-made videos! They may be a flash from the past but they'll give us some time to settle into our new lives as a family of three.

I am new to your channel. It looks like you have carefully thought out your plans for your new homestead. A nice first step - a road into your new property (I have seen others that do not-what a disaster!), planning out the cabin build for next spring - all good steps for success! and oh you have a working tractor, what a blessing~
It is pretty common to only have trails into property up here but we decided pretty quickly that we wanted a good driveway! Thanks for watching!!

The baby snuggled between you two on the way back from the hospital will be in the warmest spot. We will all be anxiously awaiting the arrival of the little one. Your scenery is beautiful ❤. And Bolt seems a little protective of you when Levi was helping with your bibs, unless he’s just a nosey pup. But I’m going with protective lol. Best of luck, and we’ll be praying for decent weather when you bring the little one home.
Yes, we have big plans for the transport of the little one! We'll work around weather if we have to though. There's some good cheap hotels in town to stay warm in if needed. ❤️

Don't worry about content. Take care of baby and yourself first. Hint put plastic sandwich bags over hose fittings on backhoe to keep snow and ice out of fittings.

They are my husband's carhartts, lol!!! They're working for now, but once I am a little ways down the postpartum road and know what size to get, I'll be upgrading. 😁
