I bought a Girsan MC1911S in dark earth tone color but with just plain sights and I just put my 2000th round last weekend at the range. To date no feeding issues and no ejection issues, however I only run Winchester and speer ammo
I have one. I threw the magazine and the factory red dot in the trash. I now run Wilson Combat magazines and installed a Truglo redot. Everything runs perfect now, 100%. The weapon ran perfectly right out of the box. Considering the function of the weapon and all the extras, including the MOS slide, it is a fabulous weapon and splendid deal.
I wasn't sure I believed it when you told me about the chain fire, glad you got it on camera. Good thing it was the last two rounds. I have an ADE in my M&P 40, been pretty good so far but I've only got 100 rounds through it so far, I'll shoot it some more.
The Derry red dot on mine fell apart on my second box of ammo. But I noticed after the new one came that the last cartridge seems to eject straight back and hits the right edge of the optic. I since installed a polycarbonate lens in front of the optic.

1911's have a 500+ rd break in. and you have to tune some 1911s to run good. if using a good mag like Wilson combat or chip McCormack then next is extractor, then check to see if you need to add a detent on the slide lock. polish feed ramp, then you should run fine. but yours does need the sear changed, I'm willing to bet that you have negative sear engagement!!! that's why your gun is shooting bursts. do those things and it'll run. they don't cost a lot either.
So the red dot sucks the only problem I have with the gun is the extractor needs to have the pad below the tip removed with a file and then bend the length of it for proper tension. Finally runs!
Good 1911 build quality, however extra parts from the manufacture are not available for my 4.25inch 9mm. Thats a problem! has anyone found a match on part from another manufacture?
I have my buddy by one of them at the gun show I think you paid about $150 too much but that's what he wanted he hasn't fired it yet hopefully it wasn't made on a Monday. I think the problem with those guns are the mags
I had the same problem and more mine just got sent back I have the match elite chambering rounds it would go off very dangerous Girsan customer service absolutely sucks ass you are a fool to buy from this dogshit company.
Watching the rounds bounce off the target and hit the ground to the left makes me cringe... idk if I would shoot fmj at steel mounted that high that close.
I have this exact same model and the red dot (Derry brand) is junk. Dies after about three to four rounds. The lens broke out of mine after about 120-130 rounds. Buy one without this brand red dot and save the money for a real optic sight.
It looks great but the red dot sight is trash and as you will find out as I have watching a lot of other videos on this firearm it like the red dot sight is also trash and not worth the money. There are other low priced 1911's out there a lot better than this piece of crap !!

Have 2 girsan 1911 . Only use Wilson combat mags in all my 1911 . I never had any issues or malfunctions and use Lucas grease on rails .

I have one works flawlessly even wit the 28 drum no jam or anything!

I love the mc1911c in 9mm. Runs good but I need to change the ejection pattern to miss the red dot

I think its part of it. I'm doing a part two using my nice stainless mags that came with my TRP to see. Thanks for the insight.
Can you put iron sights on it or is there not cutout for irons
It comes with a factory Novak style sight as well. However mine didn't fit correctly so I had to machine a new one

It was a good choice of footprint. I wish it also came with a rmr plate too though. A lot of optics also use the rmr footprint

Try shooting it right handed! My Girsan works perfectly that way. Lol With minor adjustment, my factory red dot works very well.

Seems like my chip Mccormick Mags and my springfield mags work nicely. My Springfields are mec gar I believe.
