Glad you're happy in your retirement, the Spanish word for retirement is Jubilación, in english allied i suppose to the word 'Jubilation', glad you made it to now you can chill, i'm also Retired i was a Mechanical Fitter here in Ireland , worked on large Construction jobs as a Millwright, also as a Pipe Fitter, and later as a Maintenance Fitter in Big Pharma on Shift, worked with so many great welders a real Brotherhood, remember one lad out in the Desert in South Australia on a Oil Tank Farm, he was so short sighted and other lads fronted up and did his Welding Test for him, so that he could get the Pass Cert to go onto the Construction Site, they really carried him , giving him the Root bead, then others would grind it and dress it up follow up with a 'Hot Pass' high Amps and the next lad would the do 'the Cap', the Welding Inspector [ 'Cut Out' John] knew there was something suspect with those X Rays of the Welds, but couldn't prove it... as they still Passed they reckoned because of being so badly near sighted he was, the reckoned,"The Welder that could Weld by Braille"...Best wishes...

When I first got into welding, I must have watched every "how to weld" video on the internet. Now 2 1/2 years later I certified for asme and my bosses started putting me on more pipe like I wanted. I thought it would be soo easy and simple, while in some aspects it is, the more I do it the more difficult it's becoming which makes me want to do more. Went with my boss to measure for over 50' of 28" pipe with 45's, 90's, 60° cuts and rolling offsets and now learning to fit and weld. Holy shit.

At my last job, the company was too cheap to buy clamps like in the video, so we had to fit the 90 sideways and put a level on top, it was either that or sometimes we had to weld a stock bar to the 90 and use a jackstand to raise or lower the stock bar so our 90 would be squared....improvise, adapt, overcome

An error when assembling that bridle, it is first measured with a square and a winch, then it is shored up. And at the end it is checked that everything is leveled and to be able to proceed with the welding. If they carry out the process of first setting the level, then shoring up and finally measuring with a square, the assembly will fail in a manufacturing plant, precision is needed. But still very good contribution for beginners. Good luck and continue with the videos

Good video, but I haven't met many welders that prefer a 5/32 gap. That's pretty big, especially for a knife-edge bevel

So the next step(which is what I came for :,)) is to set up your next WN flange and level the bolt pattern to the other one? Simple as that?

Always check square BEFORE grinding the pipe to see what it needs. Otherwise you could end up doing double work.
