OMG my poor ears. The combat effects and visuals are pretty great. Idk what kinda of plastic hell they were smoking while writing that lore and dialog, though. Woof. Also, where is the heat level gauge? Am I blind? [yep, found it]
The heat gauge isn't immediately obvious but you do eventually get used to how it's all laid out. Finding the MASC build up bar was a little tricky at first as well.
They should make a mod where you earn extra XP and resources for following Clan rules of engagement. With added bonus for using a smaller force to accomplish your missions.
"No Ebon Jaguar" - well, duh, it's operation Revival. You get TRO 3050 mechs (with Fire Moth replaced by Arctic Cheetah, but who wants a Dasher anyway?) and you LIKE IT. Cauldron-Born shows up later, when CSJ assaults Luthien in 3052. They were AROUND since 3049, but Jags didn't bring any with them, because those were still in testing, when Revival had kicked off. I mean, I'd love myself Ebon Jaguar. Wide Kitty is one of my favourite mechs. But what can you do?
It's a game who honestly cares given the way PGI treat the established lore for the most part. It's clear they are going to DLC the game to death so people get to play it in the end anyway. And why not the Fire Moth? It's one of the original clan omnimechs, has no reason technically speaking why it couldn't be in the game (MWO had engine limits supposedly but this is UE5) and the same goes for the Ice Ferret. I just don't get the slavish application of some aspects of the lore some have but then casually ignore other parts. Given PGI don't hold themselves to the universe that closely for their other projects like the made up weapons in MWO and MechWarrior 5. PGI made variants, PGI made battlemechs, allowing melee combat for clan 'mechs that aren't standard clan tactics during the invasion. Changing how the trial of position works at the start of this game. No attempt at Zellbringen. Constant use of contractions throughout the script and also once again having the voice actors pronounce key words incorrectly for the clans like SaKhan and Touman. It's all little things that together mean very little in the grand scheme of things so why not the Ebon Jaguar, IIC battlemechs, totem mechs and more? Overall I'm not mad or anything about the lack of some omnimechs it just speaks to PGI's usual approach of "eh it'll do" when they could go the extra mile and give fans more and given some of these people really do put up with a lot from PGI just to get some MechWarrior action the team should give those loyal supporters as many clan toys to play with as possible. As you say, what can you do. Have a good weekend nemamiah :)
@@CriticalRocket To be fair, I have to run that one back about the Ebon Jaguar. It should've been in the game, actually. You'll see. But I hard disagree on contractions. One character uses them and that one character is constantly being called out for it by pretty much everyone from his star to his superiors. For pronunciation - the only really bad example was Strana Mechty, but as I've asked around - a lot of people actually thought that this is exactly how it's pronounced. The dialogue itself, according to the lead writer, had to be recorded with multiple takes simply because a contraction slipped in from the VA (it's an unnatural way to talk after all). And some of those "bad takes" were just missed. So when it's not the "Contractions Guy" doing it - it's unintentional and slipped through the cracks. I've noticed only a few throughout the whole game. But yes, Ebon Jaguar 100% should've been in the game. You do get to Operation DRAGONSLAYER
@@CriticalRocket As for Dasher not being there - why? No, seriously, who would use it? It has about as much armour as a Flea. And it's a bus for Elementals. In a game, where you don't get Elementals, so it serves pretty much 0 purpose. I'm more than happy to have Arctic Cheetah instead, because it at least can do things, that isn't "Eating an AC/10 and losing a Side Torso".
I guess for the same reason the Locust and Flea are in MechWarrior 5 and the Piranha is in MWO. Because some people like them and they are part of the universes line up of omnimech/battlemechs. Also 20 tons can allow one of the team to take something bigger which isn't a bad idea either. I personally don't see why both the Arctic Cheetah and Fire Moth can't be in this game, they aren't exclusive or anything like that and fans of Battletech do like to see certain units in the PC adaptations. Fire Moth was quite fun in MechWarrior 2 way back when and good in things like MechWarrior 4 multiplayer. I'm not even a fan of the clans and can understand that some fans would like to see the Fire Moth one day in a PGI game. The contractions thing does happen across numerous characters, not just Liam really. Naomi uses them in numerous cutscenes alongside other cast members but like I said before it isn't that big a deal in the grand scheme of things all considered. Clans so far is a solid OK. Nothing standout or amazing, but also not broken or boring just the typical PGI output which after dealing with that since 2012 it isn't all that shocking when they go the easy route. I just expect it now and at least when they do something unexpected it's a genuine surprise like having the clan warships in the cinematics or MWO debuting the Kraken. Eh I'm not bent out of shape about it really. If asked what I would like to see in the future for this game. It would be more battlemechs and Omnimechs, the thing we get to play in. More choice is better for everyone in the end, shit go wild and give us stuff not even related to the Smoke Jags like the Battle Cobra, Turkina or Kingfisher. Just fun stuff to dink around in. I'm sure people will buy it as DLC regardless.
Comstar had been supplying pirates from the beginning. There were also numerous SLDF stockpiles in the periphery going back to the Reunification wars. Comstar was also supplying that equipment to the DC. Would the Yakuza sell to pirates?
I'd just like to say thanks for recognizing I saved the universe.
Again...

Dropping under tonnage should give you more resources as well but yeah fighting like a clanner should give you some rewards.

1:27:19 - How does a pirate Assassin have a UAC/5 and medium pulse lasers?
How did they get a damn Raven on top of that
Secret pirate lostech appropriation methods. Or PGI just shoved anything in because they don't care.
