Happy to see this review! Ordered a 2025 S5 with Ultegra (which now comes with a 4iiii power meter) it should be ready any day now. Thanks for the thorough review.
I am over 200lbs and have the Zipp 303s hookless and running tubeless 35s (love the comfort of the 35s), no problems at all. One thing im having a problem with is the damn turkey gobble sound on my SRAM brakes. I need to try the squeal out paste to try and fix it, it's frustrating. I have tried the bed-in process via SRAM video and still no luck. Have you had a problem with the brakes?
Great feedback -the key is the tire volume size. If you are living in the 55-65 PSI zone, hookless works wonders, but as soon as you start approaching the maximum end, it gets dicey. So the volume increase certainly helps reduce the pressures. Disc brakes seem to always make the turkey warble sound... Not the end of the world :)
Thank you. Great presentation. I don't understand everyone's criticism here. This clarified that this aggressive bike is not for a person like me. Also, my FTP is insufficient to take advantage of this bike. I do long rides and centuries. I am not the most flexible person in the world. I feel my back and neck will hurt from the low stack. I will go with a Madone Gen 8, which I can custom-order via their Project One program. One question. How does the stack compare to your SL8? IS the SL8 higher more comfy?
If you can afford it, I’m sure it’s amazing! I won’t stop you. Realistically, Force or Ultegra do an amazing job with a bit of a discount. Either way, you won’t have issues.
When deciding on premium components which are at a greater cost. I would ask yourself if you are going to ride it long enough or need to keep the weight down as much as possible for going fast/racing. The cost over time is not that much and if you ride a lot, then going red would be great! Force or Ultegra is nice too. Mechanical is actually lighter buy 200-300 grams. I would compare them all if this is concern. Also if you try some bikes at a shop with Force, etc. , it will be more obvious what the difference is. Sometimes for another 1k or so you can then save 200+ grams. But the question is it worth it to you.
Great review and bike!! Was debating going for the canyon cfr or s5 for my new bike. Your experience and reviews are really pushing me towards the s5! Thanks 🔥
The Soloist is great I have both s5 and Soloist for long rides and climbs I’ll take my Soloist the s5 it’s super fast but it’s too much of a aggressive position but if you looking to do it all get the soloist in I just change my tires for some lighter ones stock ones are pretty heavy the soloist it’s on heavier side but with a couple of mods it’s fast!
what depth wheels are those? do you ride with a powermeter? on a flat road @ 40KMH in the same position, how many watts do you think it would be to maintain speed compared to say an SL8 under all the same conditions?
52/63mm wheels (I go over them in the video) - Yes I ride with Assioma-Shi pedals for power. This bike is a cheat code compared to the SL8 at 40 km/h. I couldn't say an exact number, but the bike is much easier to maintain at speed... But you have to get it there :)
@@MitchOnTwoWheels nice, very nice setup with the reserve wheells on that aero bike. would be really interested to see a small 5 minute test @ 250 watts or so on both bikes on same road etc and see how the speeds compare. or 5 mins @ 40kmh and see how the watts compare etc

Awesome! Super glad you liked it - Keep me posted on how you like the new rig!
I wish I could afford an S5
It’s a soloist for me!
Sick bike
So good!
Best Bike on The Market In my Opinion. Cervelo S5
My Mate Has The Rim Brake S5, it's Rapid.
Frame Weighs 808grams.
Definitely one of the best!
Cervelo on their site now has a 61cm frameset option. This is news to me. I just headed over to their site while watching the vid!
Super cool!
Tough crowd. Thought this was great! Thank you!
Thanks!
I like your jokes brother good content 🔥🥊
I appreciate that... As long as SOMEONE thinks they're funny.

S5 or an S Works Venge 2020 would be my pick for aero.
Looks like Colnago leaked a new aero bike too.

SL8 is higher and the frame is softer to ride on for sure.
I'm planning on getting a s5 but wasn't sure about what group set to get, would you say red etap axs is worth it?

@@matthewkramer8613 Thanks for the reply, i did end up going for shimano as the shifting just felt better too me. Thanks for your thought out reply
Wheels flex when riding. The fork looks narrow with these 28C. Is Cervélo officially saying it can take 32C?
34c
I think they said it can take "34mm measured width" and a 28c can bloom out on the wide reserve rims here.
@@vinson8459 my 32C measure 33.5mm on my 34mm wide rims. Love them. It's nice that the bike can handle that size. That's what she said.
what was that hub sound check lol
Why not?
@@MitchOnTwoWheels i mean, it was funny you just spinning the wheel instead of turning the pedals
Beautiful bike!
And screw you Rob!
Love it! LOL...
Would you size up or size down?
Depends on what you’re doing with it.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels raccing 🤣

Go for the canyon cfr

@NeimanLevenson higher the speed, the bigger the difference… The advantage certainly exists, but would the average person notice or care? Not sure. 🤔
I like my Sl7

long term review and you talk about paint lol
