D.O is a vocal chameleon. His voice is so pure and he has such precise agility that he can pretty much do anything. That pureness somehow translates to emotion especially in songs like this that make you wanna cry. I saw someone else mention 'dad' which is a solo song of his off his first album. Its just like this performance. There is nothing special about the production, the melodies, while pretty, are incredibly common and simple. The focus is all on his voice. The lyrics help bring the waterworks too, haha

I think you would love to watch the whole show. The interview was very interesting. They talked about his album, and D.O’s purpose and goals in singing. This time, he said he wanted to convey the deepest meaning in the lyrics, the stories narrated in each song. His singing could be flashy and extremely agile, but he chooses to keep it simple for the lyrics to be understood with the utmost clarity. And you can see him laugh and make jokes, and being goofy!

it's so simple but his English pronunciation when singing is so fuckin good considering he doesn't really speak English or feel confident in the language conversationally. and in true DO fashion it feels effortless but if you listen to supermarket flowers you can tell he does practice the pronunciation. it's so impressive.
