They're a senior group and have been releasing music since 2011, also BTS' seniors. EXO members are ALL performers, they can all dance, and yes Johnny, they can SANG, rap, and still look amazing after a long sweaty 4 hour concert. All members are also solo artists with FANTASTIC music, sell out millions of albums, continue breaking records, and guess what, they're models and actors, and are super successful outside of music. Btw, you were right, one of the main dancers, Kai was out in the military, and another member who was in this performance also left not much later to serve his military service as well. Chinese member Lay, the 9th member is on a hiatus in China focusing on his solo music because of political tensions between China and South Korea, and because Lay is such an influential figure, he can't participate with the group, the last song he participated in was Don't Fight The Feeling but he was CGI-ed, in 2021. 4:30 - Yeah, I mean you are vocal coaches and it's hard to analyze or give opinions if the one singing has overprocessed vocals or sounds like a robot singing all the time. Good thing EXO have great vocals and do not rely on HEAVY autotune when performing live. They have more natural sound to them.
i love the use of the word organic in this particular case 😂😂😂 These vocal kings are legit organic and don't sound like robots are singing ! Their killing voice performance is also one of the organized organic live performances i believe you'd enjoy (they perform a setlist of their biggest hits throughout their career, including snippets of each song)
Killing voice is actually very processed unfortunately. Same with its live, ironically. Not just Exo but all the artists who perform there. Super annoying because we know Exo don’t need it.

Known as the unofficial national anthem of South Korea. Started as 12 but then 3 Chinese members left. Now at 9, however, Lay (last chinese member) has been unable to perform with the group since 2017. He did however have a small part in the song Don't Fight the Feeling back in 2021 and with CGI was able to be in the music video. Right now the last 2 youngest members are in military and will be discharged next year, 1 in February and one in September. They've been going through military service since 2019. We cannot wait till all group is together again. (Slogan is We are One) 2 members have left SM and started their own company. Baekhyun started INB100 and 2 members, Chen and Xiumin, signed under his company for their solo projects as well as subunit projects (subunit- Exo-CBX which is Chen, Xiumin. Baekhyun) D.O. started Company SooSoo. Though these 4 are no longer with SM they will still be participating in group activities. Their solo work will be under the new companies. All in their 30's and Chen is married with 2 kids. Main Vocal line (Baekhyun, Chen, D.O.) are known as one of the best in and out of kpop. Sometimes called Vocal Trinity of Kpop. I have seen Beyonce live in concert as well as Bruno Mars, Adam Lambert, Guns N Roses, Jay Z… I can wholeheartedly say EXO is up there with the best of the best live. Seven on stage. Kai, their Centre and main dancer, was in the military. He can also sing. He is a successful soloist as well most of the rest of them and a powerful performer. Fans will usually say EXO is 9, although the ninth, Lay no longer performs with them. He's massive as a solo artist in China. They were once 12, split into two sub-units for performing in Korean and in Mandarin. Three Chinese members left early, so you may also see them as 12, 11, 10 or 9 members. They also had an album while two were in the military and toured that with 6 members. The group is very well known for their range, control and amazing harmonies when performing live. As mentioned by others, Killing Voice is a good medley to start with, although it is also minus Kai (and Lay).

EXO and BTOB are vocal kings in KPop. Anyt,bing on Killing Voices are a good choice. Add Kardi to your list. An amazing Korean band that uses traditional instruments mixed with electric guitar and drums. The lead singer Kim YeJi has an amazing voice. She did a cover of Growl on Korean Masked Singer. She own all 8 episodes and took home the trophy. She is a mix of jazz and a female rock voice like Pat Benatar.

So, EXO used to be a 12 member group split into two sub units: EXO-K and EXO-M. EXO-K performed in Korean and EXO-M performed in Mandarin. After 3 of the Chinese members left the group for various reasons, they began promoting as a unified group of 9 members but would do Korean and Mandarin versions of their albums. Eventually, they only did the title tracks in both languages, but as of maybe the last couple of albums, they've pretty much dropped Mandarin at least for the time being. I suspect since they haven't really been able to promote in China for some time, that its kinda been put on the back burner.

Started as 12 but then 3 Chinese members left. Now at 9, however, Lay (last chinese member) has been unable to perform with the group since 2017. He did however have a small part in the song Don't Fight the Feeling back in 2021 and with CGI was able to be in the music video. Right now the last 2 youngest members are in military and will be discharged next year, 1 in February and one in September. They've been going through military service since 2019. We cannot wait till all group is together again. (Slogan is We are One)
2 members have left SM and started their own company. Baekhyun started INB100 and 2 members, Chen and Xiumin, signed under his company for their solo projects as well as subunit projects (subunit- Exo-CBX which is Chen, Xiumin. Baekhyun)
D.O. started Company SooSoo.
Though these 4 are no longer with SM they will still be participating in group activities. Their solo work will be under the new companies.
All in their 30's and Chen is married with 2 kids.
Main Vocal line (Baekhyun, Chen, D.O.) are known as one of the best in and out of kpop. Sometimes called Vocal Trinity of Kpop.
Their Killing Voice performance is a must see with snippets of some of their biggest title tracks. Debut 2012. I'll leave it there now as comment will turn into a small novel if I keep on going. As always, Exo-L, please correct me if I am wrong.

I have seen Beyonce live in concert as well as Bruno Mars, Adam Lambert, Guns N Roses, Jay Z… I can wholeheartedly say EXO is up there with the best of the best live. They are so incresibly proficient with yes, huge variety of styles and sounds, and the most complicated harmonies, but they make it feel so natural and easy. NOBODY IN KPOP COMES CLOSE. NOBODY. Their concerts put superbowl halftime and grammy shows to shame

Seven on stage. Kai, their Centre and main dancer, was in the military. He can also sing. He is a successful soloist as well most of the rest of them and a powerful performer. Fans will usually say EXO is 9, although the ninth, Lay no longer performs with them. He's massive as a solo artist in China. They were once 12, split into two sub-units for performing in Korean and in Mandarin. Three Chinese members left early, so you may also see them as 12, 11, 10 or 9 members. They also had an album while two were in the military and toured that with 6 members. The group is very well known for their range, control and amazing harmonies when performing live. As mentioned by others, Killing Voice is a good medley to start with, although it is also minus Kai (and Lay).

Since your vocal coaches....might wanna start with something like their killing voice or acoustic medley's or even the most recent killing voice b-sides they did on stage for fans, then jump into other stuff. Their core is R&B, but they experiment with a wide range and variety of genres. 3 main vocals and 2 rappers, 3 all rounders and 1 main dancer, however, you will find that EXO as a whole is are the kings of vocals.....every member is a stellar vocal
Also it is important to know there are only 7 on stage but there are 9 total members to EXO. 1 is missing here because they are serving their mandatory military service and the 3rd is in china due to political difference between countries. its a long story, but he's working on his solo stuff in the meantime.

An amazing Korean band that uses traditional instruments mixed with electric guitar and drums. The lead singer Kim YeJi has an amazing voice. She did a cover of Growl on Korean Masked Singer. She own all 8 episodes and took home the trophy. She is a mix of jazz and a female rock voice like Pat Benatar.

So, EXO used to be a 12 member group split into two sub units: EXO-K and EXO-M. EXO-K performed in Korean and EXO-M performed in Mandarin. After 3 of the Chinese members left the group for various reasons, they began promoting as a unified group of 9 members but would do Korean and Mandarin versions of their albums. Eventually, they only did the title tracks in both languages, but as of maybe the last couple of albums, they've pretty much dropped Mandarin at least for the time being. I suspect since they haven't really been able to promote in China for some time, that its kinda been put on the back burner.
