      I love my Radmission ~ I know they do not make them anymore but I love the single speed and the bike is easy to ride with motor off . Great bike for fitness . Stand up and hammer up the hills .

    I have two 2016 Radrovers and 2018 Radcity Step Thru.. I had controller issues with both Radrovers; but, everything was resolved under warranty and have been trouble-free since. The wife and I enjoy getting back on bikes again after +25 years. Biking has really taken off in my area since the lockdown. We use to be the only ebikes around in 2016 and now they are commonplace for the older crowd. Just upgraded the wife's ebike to the 2023 RadCity 5 Plus.

    We love our Rad Mini Step Thru, especially since ours has the front suspension. The restriction of Class One e-bikes only on many trails is very concerning to us. We always try to be very considerate of other trail users. 24:07

      Glad to hear it Joan. I imagine in most cases disconnecting the throttle or just not using it is sufficient. Can't imagine you'll get a lot of attention by being considerate.

    Just purchased the RadRover 6Plus for my husband and now I want one for myself. Lower fat tire step thru is what I'm looking at. I'd love the RadRunner 3Plus but at $2999 CDN I'll have to find a less expensive one or keep saving and hope for a sale. Thanks for this video, awesome information. Please do make more of these for the Himiway, Lectric, Magicycle, Biktrix, Heybikes etc.

    I've had a Rad City 4 since mid 2000.
    3500 miles later, all I've had to do it is normal bike maintenance. Awesome bike.

      Thanks for sharing your experience Jonathan, the City is a great option - bummed that they only have the Plus version available now. Maybe that's a sign that a new one is coming though.

      Wait, do you mean 2010 (edit: Rad City 4 came out in 2020)? They said Rad Power Bikes was founded in 2007 so you couldn't have had a bike from them since 2000. They didn't exist yet.
      Edit: It's good that it's held up without issues for you though for I assume 3 years when you left this comment.

    Excited for your full review of the RR3+. Should do a hill comparison test with the other runners (and wagon for fun)

      Had my RR3+ for a week now. Hills seem super easy on throttle , with little speed loss.

    I'd like to see a similar comparison in Lectric's lineup. And rad should put out a version of the rover or city with a torque sensor, similar to what Aventon is doing, or the Ride1up LMt'D

      @EbikeEscape  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If this video seems popular we will do one for Lectric. It will be interesting to see what changes Rad makes.

    I currently have a RW4. I like it a lot but am very interested in the Rad Runner 3 Plus.
    BTW, what brand are those hand grip mirrors on the RW? I only have one mirror on my RW and want to upgrade to two of them but don't have room for one on the right side of the handlebars. I'm shopping around for new ones.

    Just wanted to note that changing out controllers on the Plus models is a bear. I groan when one of them comes into the shop.

  • @Terrible_Peril
    @Terrible_Peril ปีที่แล้ว

    I’m guessing the banding across the frame is due to whatever (LED?) lighting is used in that shop.

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct. The LED lights and the shutter speed of the camera were not playing well together. We have since figured out how to eliminate this.

      @@EbikeEscape cheers, I have buddies that do video production and I just couldn't not notice it. These LED/shutterspeed issues that pop up these days are SO tedious for productions (especially ones where The Talent brings along their own special lighting props). Thank you for all your effort in creating, filming and sharing all this with us!!

    I really like the hard shell locking boxes and panniers but I have a Lectric 3.0. Do you think it would hurt anything if I would put a hard shell box on a lectric?

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont think there would be any issue with mounting a locking box to the top of the rack. The Panniers might be a bit more challenging as they require a side mounting bar.

      The RadExpand 5 was supposed to be just that.... however it does not have a front suspension, which many people miss.

      @@EbikeEscape food delivery but I would prefer a foldable bike.

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The only foldable Rad model is the RadExpand 5. I would recommend one of the RadRunner models or maybe even the RadCity for food delivery. The RadRunner will have a beefier rear rack.

    Rad Power Bikes are banned for sale in New York city because they aren’t UL certified.

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's going to be very interesting to see how the ebike companies react. UL certification isn't cheap and also non -UL listed batteries aren't necessarily unsafe.

    • @CodeDeb
      @CodeDeb ปีที่แล้ว

      Awkward as they have a store there 😮

    • @dant.6364
      @dant.6364 ปีที่แล้ว

      The ban went into effect this week. Aventon ebikes would be a nice alternative. They are reasonably priced and UL certified I believe.

    • @sgrant9814

      I used T have a rad city power bike and its battery had a UL certification on the side of the battery

    • @litz13
      @litz13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Two important clarifications:
      1) NYC's new law takes effect 180 days after passage, not immediately.
      2) RAD is tested to UL standards but has not yet achieved certification. It should be a rubber stamp, as they already meet (and are approved at) the equivalent EU standard.

    If you buy a rad bike you will regret it if you ever have to use their support or warranty. The bikes are user-friendly but I would never recommend Radbike because of the service and warranty.
