I have the 6+. I grabbed a 60v controller that works on Sondors bikes and I am getting ready to fit a 1000w hub motor to this setup. I also took off the wiring harness and went with my own wires, that are much easier (just like sondors.) Yes I have a rad bike, but I don’t like the harness. There is a huge delay in power using throttle plus it lurches forward using throttle or pedal assist. This has helped cause two crashes, and has me almost afraid to ride it. I will say, it DID dramatically increase power though. Maybe I need one of the newer kits. I'll e-mail you.

First off, thanks for doing this test. Very interesting. One question: Does the 20mph top speed affect the wattage output once the tire speed reaches the limit?
Just a quick tip! Peak torque is proportional to current if you haven’t saturated the motor. Higher voltage shouldn’t make much difference to low speed torque, but it will bring up the power at higher speed
I apologize if you covered this already but I didn’t have time to watch the entire video. Question, on the RADRover 6 Plus - how about motor heat/longevity after the upgrade?
Great video! I was just noticing something; is the bike you used as a RadRover 5 actually a RadRover 5? It looks more like my 2018 RadRover, I know the electric system should be pretty much the same, regardless; just wondering.
@@Area13ebikes, except maybe the battery being more worn than previously thought due to age and possibly more charge cycles. Hi... What about the torque plates on the axle... Can they handle this extra power? I'm really not wanting to spin that axel and damage things... Which would definitely happen, if those stock plates failed.
Do you know if the battery is not used for years and you plug the charger in and it will not take a charge. Does the charger check the min voltage before it begins charging? I know with my quad copter if i run the battery to low the charger thinks the battery is damaged so i put a 5 minute nicad charge on it to raise it up just enough for the charger to recognize it min 3.0v then run the lipo charging cycle. and all is good. wondering if this is wha'ts going on here. the wife never use it. let me know what you think. tried to call today not open, thanks in advance...

Greattesting. What would be really interesting to me would be how the power relates to the real world,in other words top speed and maybe acceleration (0 - 20 mph & 0 - 30 mph).
Citizen Cycle channel regularly does timed acceleration tests after bike mods. I believe he's done a couple involving Rad bike motor, battery, and controller upgrades. You might find those interesting.
You know, I have a good question for you. With all the more and more powerful bikes coming down the pipes, why are mag wheels NOT more common? I always hear about having to re-true the spokes on a hub motor driven wheel after a time because of the power being put out by the motor. And yes, I've even seen these configurations destroy themselves. I decided to get a bike with mag wheels because of this. It needs to function in the field and be repairable in the field with basic tools. What is your opinion on this? Mags or spokes? I consider it one less tool I have to carry and one less thing I have to worry about repairing in a shop. Bike shops are few and far between here in west Texas for some reason. They just don't seem to stay in business long. A lot of the ones who have come and gone won't even touch an e-bike, so you have to service it yourself.
@@Area13ebikes yeah, but I find that they don't affect my rated range much at all and I'll take the weight penalty any day to avoid the tedious maintenance. I've trued Wheels before and without proper tools it's really really a pain
