    Every year this is my playground. I set off from Loch Awe Boats and explore the Loch. You are so talented, not only do you get to explore, you have a lovely rib, and now you compose the music! You are some talented chap.

    Another belter Donny! These islands certainly have some atmosphere to them. But then so does the rest of the place. I love seeing the wind ribbons (as call them!) being whipped up on the surface of the Loch by the wind, the quad gives a good perspective of that.

      Thanks Captain ..it was a blustery day ..if I was a fisherman..which Im not..I would fish down those white wind lanes as Im told fish feed on the drowned flies in them.. that may just be rumour though :-D

    One of our favourite Lochs with all the islands, castles, graveyards and history. Beautifully captured once again Donny.
    Certainly is one of the best places to give the outboard a good flush out of salt water! We visit quite often around now, or in May before the midge and ticks are at their worst. Watched a couple of deer swim over the last time we were paying our respects the dead, hence the ticks I guess.
    You inspired us a few years ago to buy a sib to visit, and to go to the Kirk and Dam too 👌
    Yet to get time or conditions to get on to Your Loch, 😉 perhaps the weather will be kinder to us some time before the summer next year.

      Hi bdr6199.. Im certainly hoping next summer will be better boating weather. I disturbed a lovely pine martin on Inishail ..so lots of wild life among the trees ,,including midges and ticks 😀

      Hi Jeff ..yup..I have camped on the islands in the past..they can be popular in summer with canoes and kayakers though..lots of midges too 😀

    • @donnywilcox
      @donnywilcox  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yup..there were big waves and floods around the loch during storm Babet ..if that was what that spell of bad weather was called. No boating then :-0 Thanks again for commenting..appreciated :-D

    Well done for getting out at all just now Donny. I've visited those ( midge infested) islands years ago in a boat hired from Port Sonnachan Hotel. Not sure where I can launch with a trailer boat now though, Ardbrecknish has an extremely tight access road. Here's hoping for some more settled weather one of these days. Thanks for posting.

      Hi again Ashley ..that why I have two boats ..the small one for throwing down impossible to launch bankings etc. Im not sure where you could launch your boat from as I dont take the larger one there :-D

    Thanks for that Donny, been a very long time since I was out on a boat on Loch Awe, when my father towed our boat, a 12ft clinker built tender, from Loch Lomond to have a day out fishing on Loch Awe, would be round about 1970 🙂
    Just catching up on your videos, we have been back home in Scotland since September and now just back in Belgium, in the mean time we bought a boat, a 1980 7.5m river cruiser to use on the canals and rivers in Benelux.
    While we were in Scotland my wife and I did our powerboat level 2 and I also got my VHF SRC certificate, all just in time to get the boat ready for winter 😅

      @donnywilcox  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That will be a lovely boat for your area Alicatt.. I keep wondering about a cabin boat to keep away from the summer insects..but I would miss my tent ..I think ? 😀

    • @Alicatt1
      @Alicatt1 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@donnywilcox Aye, our wee cabin cruiser has a tent on the cockpit, handy when it rains. Yesterday we did our first trip on the boat, round trip of 40km we went from our marina at Kerkhoven on the Kanaal naar Beverlo to the Marina at Meerpaal on the Bocholt Herentals kanaal for lunch. The canal has a speed limit of 8km/h (our boat tops out at 10km/h) so it was almost 3 hours there and a bit longer coming back as we had to wait for a tanker to come out of the narrow section of the canal so it was pitch black when we got back to our home marina, we would have made it in daylight if we had not had to tie up and wait for the tanker to pass ... it was the nearest thing we had to rough water 😃

      Its a real fake skull ..I think Kerny..but it may be a real shrunken one ? I never look too close but its been there a long time although I have seen it in different places around the graveyard :-D

    Yet another great video. Can I ask what video editing software you use ?

    • @donnywilcox
      @donnywilcox  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi 123boat..Yup.. I use Adobe Premiere Pro..its my one luxury as I pay a monthly fee for the updates. I believe the free version of Davinci Resolve is very popular too..and does everything Premiere Pro does ? Im used to Premiere which is why I keep it going 😀

    • @123boat
      @123boat 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@donnywilcox Thanks for your response Donny. I was using Windows 10 video editor until recently but they have withdrawn it. I had tried Davinci Resulve in the past but find it way to complicated for my limited knowledge. I’m now giving Capcut a go which is far more complicated than my original editor but not as complicated as Davinci. 👍
