Awesome Autumn Day on Loch Awe by Inflatable Boat

- Now the colder days are coming ..Im looking forward to off season boating, as the summer haze has gone and the cool clear atmosphere means being able to see for miles. The autumn colour of leaves framed by blue sky make it well worth wrapping up well, to enjoy a relaxing day on the water. This is what inspired "An Awesome Autumn Day on Loch Awe by inflatable boat"
Oh Donny, you have done it this time. I have been visiting Loch Awe and Inveraray for 50 years now. The most stunning place on earth in my opinion ( well, till I saw your superb videos of the other adventures that you have done). It brought back so many memories. I cannot wait till I get there later on in the year. Thank you so much. Best Wishes

Lovely trip and amazing autumn colours I liked the choice of forever Autumn for the music but kept expecting a tripod to jump out from war of the worlds
I know what you mean about the aliens Boating etc. I always have that song in my head at autumn time ..but fortunately never see the fighting machines :-D

Good job Donny, what a superb day out in the wee boat. I've stayed at Portsonnachan hotel & Dalavich cabins too both had hire boats at the time. Ben Cruachan is like a Bond villain's lair, well worth a look inside. I'm especially pleased you took the time to scull over to Inishail ! Keep iut up forever !

Hi donny, recently made aware of yourself and your adventures.
My friend has been sib'n for a year or two now and has persistently shared the adventures he has been having.
That said. I will be receiving a 3.65m sib on Wednesday coming.
Your adventures have inspired me and confirmed my expectations.
My goal is to travel the west coast. Indeed I intend to explore alover Scotland.
My father took me alover Scotland as a boy, Loch tay, Foss, Tummel, shin and many other small lochs.

Oh Donny this is a stunning video and one of my favourite songs Forever Autumn from war of the worlds. We have missed 2 Scottish adventures this year due to family tragedies. Another great film Donny and on my favourite loch to. Missed you by a day by the looks of it. I launched from the layby on the 85 on Saturday for a days pike fishing. I even took a detour down to Kelly,s pier in the afternoon to look at possibilities of launching my rib for a wee sea trip. Keep up the great work.

yes Donny fished their a few times always from the shore though its a great loch watch out for the old hag of ridges

Hi Donny great video as usual, do you need a permit to take a boat onto Scottish Lochs? I've recently purchased a Zodiac 310s with a 15HP Mariner 2 stroke, desperate to get out on it, no experience so not brave enough for the sea just yet.Thanks
Hi Jasper ..no need for a permit on sea lochs ..however fresh water lochs are different. each and every fresh water loch has different rules too..some dont allow motorised boats and some do ..but they all allow paddle craft. Best google the specific loch you intent boating on to get the correct details ..hope that helps

hi Donny. Do you need any special permits or permissions to go on loch Awe with an engine. Also what about fishing?
Hi CRF999 you need a permit to fish loch awe ..even for pike .. boats dont need a permit but there is a 10 knot speed limit ..i think ? Im mostly there out of season and no one has complained about my 6hp outboard ..perhaps they would object if it was a jet ski..but not sure :-D

Hi andy ..yup..its the yamaha keyboard ..and my version of the song. However I have to play each part into the computer then play everything back by remote control except the lead ..which is played live. Just too many parts and too few hands to play it all:-D I recorded it several years ago..so already well out of practise for that one :-0
@@donnywilcox I have a little Yamaha DX Reface, I can't play the thing properly, but it does make some awesome sounds. I'm guitarist really but enjoy playing lead over simple looped keyboard chords.

Hi Johan.. yup the wee Yamaha has well over 500 hours ..and never once complained. Im now trying to get a 25HP yamaha fourstroke for my other boat..simply because of Yamaha's reputation. Im now running the 6hp on e10 petrol too..and its not complaining one bit :-D
Anyone else getting playback issues with this video? Its Full of artefacts and crashes my Chromebook. All other devices on same network are fine. Danny Macaskill videos seem to be fine? Danny/Donny pretty much the same thing?
Hi cosybike ..sorry to hear you have difficulty watching the video. I dont do anything but upload to youtube so cant help answer your question. It plays fine on my computer ...the ipad and phone at my end. A new video is now on line so interested to hear if you have difficulty with it ?
@@donnywilcox Interesting...New video also behaves the same. You have older videos though that are fine. The CODEC must not like chrome on my chromebook and plays back like a corrupted file. Audio remains but picture breaks up, goes green and flickers and if left running crashes the whole thing. All other devices are less fussy! H264 MP4 16:9 is usually best. (Anytime i've used go pro it needs converting to something less compressed that editing software can cope with)
@@cosybike Hi again Cozy ..Im no expert so could be wrong. Im still using the same codec as always and it is the one you mention. However ..you dont watch my version..youtube changes everything when I upload the video to use its codec. Before i had 1k subscribers it used AVC1 codec which has a lot of compression. Once I reached 1K subscribers it now uses VP9 codec which gives better quality. I have no choice in what it uses. For info..right click on the video when playing and choose "stats for nerds" it shows the codec being used. It changes to VP9 at the video "A tale of three gurnards" .. so if you can watch movies ok before that one..that is the issue..your browser doesnt support youtube codex VP9 which it now uses for all my videos. Does that make sense ?
@@donnywilcox Smashing - Bug report sent to google. Chromecasting works fine so it must be the device.
