Maybe it was your expectations? I was a little excited for it, and came out loving it! Great combination of Alien 1979 and Aliens with thoughtful scifi and action!
I finally decided to see this movie Coming from someone who is a massive fan of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986) I thought this movie sucked and it is overrated crap What makes Alien (1979) a great movie is that you care about the characters and whether they live or die just like Jaws (1975). I did not feel any of that watching this movie. Andy was the only decent character in this movie the android and I thought the actor who played him was the only good actor in the movie, everyone else gave bad performances and were unlikable as they wanted to steal stuff which I’m sorry I do not sympathize with those type of people, and one of them treats, Andy crap for no reason Also, that android who told the characters what to expect with the face huggers I was so upset they put that guy in the movie because he was in the very first Alien movie and that actor died. I cannot stand in movies when they use CGI to bring back dead actors from older movies as I find it very disrespectful and disgusting. Also, I find it hypocritical how if people hate Alien 4: Ressurection (1997) and they give that movie crap because of the human xenomorph hybrid because they say the design is stupid, this movie makes the exact same mistake doing that, but somehow it gets a pass. Also, the Director and producer of this movie wanted to redeem the franchise because none of the movies were getting good reviews since the second movie Aliens (1986). However, they reference movies like Alien 3 (1992), Alien Ressurection (1997), Alien Vs Predator (2004), Prometheus (2012), and Alien Covenant (2017) which are movies that no one liked. So Ridley Scott I know you were only a producer on the movie, but why would you reference Prometheus (2012) and some of the other movies if you were drying or redeemed the franchise? This movie is an example on how to do fan service the wrong way. The reason Spider-Man No Way Home and Deadpool 3 worked was because yes they had fan service but it was respectful fan service that did not get in the way of the story. What made the original movie from 1979 scary is that you actually cared about whether the characters lived or died, and the creatures were kept in the shadows and you didn’t know what they were. I highly recommend the original Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986) as those are the only good movies in the franchise and everything sucked after that. Especially Aliens (1986) which is as good as Jaws (1975) If people like this movie that is fine to each own, but all I saw was a lazy sequel prequel as this takes place after the first movie, but before the second movie.
It added NOTHING to the Alien storyline-didn’t enhance it, expand on it, or elevate the concept in any way. It felt like a filler movie with an overly drawn-out plot. A complete waste of time. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
There hasn’t been a good movie in the Alien Franchise since the second movie Aliens (1986) and that was 38 years ago Have you seen Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986) yet? Amazing movies I recommend If not, you probably should’ve watched those movies before of us because this is a sequel to the first movie but a prequel to the second movie Even one of my friends who loves Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986) hated this movie and thought Alien Romulus (2024) was overrated crap I highly suggest you give Alien (1979) a watch that movie is just as good as Jaws (1975) as with that movie you actually care about whether the characters live or die.
