After alien isolation it doesn't surprise me that it survived seeing several xenos outside the ship in space, but for that long though idk about that 😂 I personally thought big chapp was dead and they just used it's body to replicate the xenomorph life cycle
Alien Romulus is hands down the best Horror film I saw this year!! Xenomorphs are More Terrifying than ever before!! This is the Best that the Creatures have been since frist Alien movie and the second film Aliens bro!!!!!!!!! Yes does have some problems however it's definitely entertaining to watch and enjoy in theaters this one Compared to the other sequels that where horrible and Boring to watch.
I do think so, if this movie didn't shoot itself in the leg by putting in all these references everywhere, it would maybe have been better than Alien 3
Prometheus is a masterpiece for me. Cinematic and atmospheric. Covenant was a let down. If they included the deleted scenes in the theatrical release it would have helped. Still love the franchise as a whole even resurrection.
Thank God that this was a THEATRICAL RELEASE instead of a straight to stream film! Prey and Hellraiser deserved a theatrical release as well. I must be the only person who enjoyed the third act 🤷🏽♂️
what really bugged me about the ending was, why didn't the mother mutate? Was she gonna mutate cuz she got all sticky/gooey right before the Baby Sucked her blood. But seeing how fast it mutates things, idk why it didn't mutate her fast also. I don't think this is what the goal was. Hence the experiment they were doing. They wanted to evolve humans. But i doubt anyone's goal was a blind one time evolution and being like "yeah, thats it. Let's not do another test to see if a better mutant comes out. Nope. Let's go with that ugly thing"
The mutated alien killed her. She couldn't mutate after that from what i assume. As for the test tubes they were transporting. They didn't say it was 100% ready for use. It was more they still.needed the sample to further study.
Call back to Prometheus I guess remember the dude scientist David infected with the goo he didn’t mutate right away either he had enough time to make love to Shaw and then have the mutant squid baby
17:20 i want to add on to the chest burster lore. I dig with one little part in colonial marines despite its a overall not a good game. But they mentioned that there is no way to just remove the chestburster after shortly implanted by the face-hugger stage it acted like a cancer during its incubation And also i dig with hicks still alive in that game and didn’t die in alien 3
legit just walked out of the movie theater rn. and my opinion is pretty much like yours the first 2 acts where strong but the 3rd had a lot to explain. "and don't say he wanted the acid on him because his Objective should of been to be what is best for rain" overall its a fun movie to watch but just puts a lot of questions out there into the AVP verse. I think im going to watch it again in 4dx just to see how better the experience is
I think Ridley Scott’s interest in heavily promoting this movie lies in the fact that he might be able to do the final movie of his prequel trilogy, IF this movie is a success.
They had to do something different at the end but not totally out of sync with previous entries. I think the follow up to romulus will be an episodic series where they reach vaga but look at all the ingredients: Rain is a refugee runaway seeking asylum Is andy being reprogrammed on the way to vaga? Is kay going to survive? Does the black goo change her in cryosleep? What about the rest of the black goo on board? Wont weyland yutani want to find all of them? So many interesting scenarios
A lot of hot takes. I did not like but the most egregious is you talking down about Burger King tacos? They are the best fast food taco in the game and we need to get you checked for drugs.
They definitely played it safe all while patching up things. It was a solid movie. Has me more hopeful and optimistic moving forward to see what they do with the story and how they go about it.
I don’t think Romulus is as good as the original three films, but I definitely think it’s one of the better ones. Also, nice that the Newborn got to be seen again I guess, lmao.
@@jamesday1295yes. The fact that the reversed engineered the goo can lead to maybe the engineers creating g the goo from wild Xenomorphs! I never liked how David was the creator of the Aliens.
@Kennyisdarkvanilla I think this leaves them able to do a hard reset, or a sequel. Covenant now just ends in a villainous victory. Engineers farm wild xeno goo, that fits ok with Alien. Now my Canon ends at Alien3, with a wacky Ripley8 spin-off.
The final boss in this movie was menacing!! Also the call back to prometheus with the black goo mutating the fetus! Humans just don't understand that nothing good comes out of the black goo
Ngl I don’t think this was the organism I think the xeno is but I think this shows what David did to Shaw’s body he didn’t get her pregnant or maybe he did use her eggs and a engenders sperm but that’s how he got the first protomorph egg in Covenant 12:35
yes the Xenomorph is the perfect organism you can see it also when the Xeno on covenant was on the ship David was looking at it like yes this is it this is my weapon

I understand the third at but this was a horror again I think black dude was my favorite character you did not know what he was going to do and I love that
It was stared before act 3 when they meet rook that the face huggers implant human with an egg that mutantes based on the DNA. That was the thing for me. At first I hated it because I didn't think it looked cool at all. But then I remembered that this is HR Gieger shit we're talking about it's not supposed to look cool it's supposed to look weird and uncanny valley and make you uncomfortable
Im pretty sure the Weyland corporation is trying to create "the perfect human" which in this case would just be "the engineeers" and they dont realize this yet. The theory is that they are trying to make perfect new generation synthetics to stop using human population (like blade runner universe) and make a human that can pretty much resist everything in space. The xenomorphs themselves may be (perfect as weapons) but Weyland is looking to make money im sure they are going to make use of both for weapons (that are more controllable) and workers I think that the whole baby growing fast makes sense thats why they showed what happen to the rat. It was quick. Also we dont know how far along she was so it may have sped up her gestation rate to match that or exceed the aliens.
i was expecting more out of this one. Andy was the best character, visually it looked really good, and the no gravity scene with the aliens was amazing. but thats about it. i will say i enjoyed it more than covenant.
This movie makes me so incredibly angry, because it would have been 10 times better if they had just restrained themselves a lot more with the references. This movie is a really good movie but it shoots itself in the leg by referencing the other movies every 5 seconds. The Prometheus references I did like because it was more of a lore connection thing but there's just so much just blatant hey look at this remember this? Moments
I just saw it and I gotta say I don't like the 3rd act. Not that anything is done bad but it reminds me too much of Resurrection and I didn't like that movie. Aside from that I think it was a genuinely good Alien movie but I still put Aliens above it.
The ending was wacky and that thing was nasty but overall great movie, I think the "offspring" (some fans are calling it) was supposed to the whole engineer mixed thing and I think this was maybe some ideas for the 3rd movie they wanted make back with the Prometheus & Covenant movie we'll see where they go from here but were not in the bad territory tho were still in great to amazing
If they would have used 'prick' instead of 'witch's would have earned cheers rather than jeers. However, Andy was echoing Bjorn, who insulted Andy as 'bitch' at least once earlier.
I feel big chap was wasted in the movie like im fine with it being back but why bring it back just to kill it off screen, it deserved to become a queen or a praetorian. I also the whole ending was thinking "oh they were going to have a xeno kill the hybrid" and that just never happened and I feel that could have made it better or at least have had the final boss be a new xeno form instead.
Agreed on the og alien living being dumb. They should've stuck with just extracting DNA and stuff from the fossilized version that was in the rock that was recovered. No reason to add it that the alien survived alive bc it obviously wasn't when it was recovered
@@BallinOutOfControl08 I know they can survive without good and water, but being fully encapsulated within an asteroid and basically fossilized gives the impression that it is deceased. I agree it could be alive but if they wanted to go that route they could've chosen a different method of showing it at the beginning, maybe just have the xeno itself be recovered, not a church of asteroid that has to be cut open revealing its remains. It had me all the way to the end. Solid 8.5 they went too far with the homages at the end after being original for most of it. Especially ending with an alien resurrection homage of all things, thats a no for me. I have it as a solid 4 right after the original trilogy
Even though i enjoyed myself for the most time, i was still kinda disappointed mainly because i wanted something new and not just rehash of old movies. That line from Andy didn't work for me either. I wish Ridley Scott continued his story from Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, which i both really like(specially Prometheus). Still an ok movie. Side note... if you haven't seen Furiosa and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, watch it, the're both fantastic.

the last 20mins was terrible. it ruined the whole experince for me. it was a 8 to 81/2 but the end was so bad and its a 6-7 now. so sad to play it out like that.
The cast was boring, I just couldn’t get invested, the final boss creature had potential but the more it was shown on screen the luster just faded away, could have been alot better, 5/10 just a middle of the mall type of movie, a soft reboot pretending to be a new film
If they wanted to introduce the aliens again, the Romulus space station should have found the Covenant spaceship with the eggs aboard & took it on the space station for research and well everything goes to shit.
Alien 1, Aliens, Prometheus, Alien 3, (alien 3 is far superior in acting than Romulus)Alien Romulus,Alien Resurrection , Alien Covenant Predator 1, Predator 2, Predators, Prey, The Predator AVP 1 and 2, but there is a fanedit of 1 and 2 combined that is sorta decent.
Alien Romulus was a bad movie. Too much fan fiction, stilted dialogue; the entire premise that they could reverse engineer the creation of aliens was absurd.
@@biashacker it's was the best change of lore that could be made. Humans being responsible for all the classic xenomorphs in the entire franchise and EU is the most shitty shit idea ever thought up. The xenohuman hybrid looked like an engineer to me. I mess with the entire movie. Definitely in the top three Alien films
I'm pretty sure that was the point to make it an engineer. I thought it was pretty cool.
yeah it looked like an enginneer to me as well ,minus the tongue . Didn't like the speed that it grew but overall i liked the scene .
I think somehow this is just a theory we went full circle, they created us went extinct as humans advanced. We ended up creating them again.
I absolutely loved it, don't understand how anyone could not appreciate such an awesome and scary concept
Dear WorldofGeekdom,
Just a FYI the Xenomorphs from the Alien Franchise do not need oxygen to survive and can survive in the vacuum of space.
Did anyone catch the music cue from prometheus when the first introduced the black goo

@@ompatel5570 - 20 year olds acting like teenagers in a movie. Yeah, we've never seen that before.
Ok boomer.
This comment has to be satire, it's just so dumb
@@Vivi_9 - Your reply is not to be read at all since it's full of sheer idiocy.
Alien: Slenderman was awful
I loved it
The cast was boring, I just couldn’t get invested, the final boss creature had potential but the more it was shown on screen the luster just faded away, could have been alot better, 5/10 just a middle of the mall type of movie, a soft reboot pretending to be a new film
🗑️opinion. It was excellent compared to the trash we got with Alien Covenant
@@BallinOutOfControl08 keep dreaming kiddo
If they wanted to introduce the aliens again, the Romulus space station should have found the Covenant spaceship with the eggs aboard & took it on the space station for research and well everything goes to shit.
Alien 1, Aliens, Prometheus, Alien 3, (alien 3 is far superior in acting than Romulus)Alien Romulus,Alien Resurrection , Alien Covenant
Predator 1, Predator 2, Predators, Prey, The Predator
AVP 1 and 2, but there is a fanedit of 1 and 2 combined that is sorta decent.
White girl and black guy leads. Is there lesbian couple? Looks like the most SJW cast I ever seen.
First act was rushed cast was bad except rain and Andy. Act 3 carried imo it’s better than 3 and 4 yes not better than Prometheus
A Wild xenomorph, having body chemistry for good or bad, is something science could cope with and exploit today, if there was a specimen.
This movie was fucked 😬
