- Over the last few months I’ve lost track of the number of messages I’ve received asking for slap tonguing help. How to do it/how to get it to sound really clear and snappy.
This condensed tutorial explains how I personally slap tongue, as I’ve previously come across players who create slap tongue in a slightly different way. I found this extended technique incredibly difficult to understand and it took me just over 2 years to be able to do, so I hope you find this clear and helpful. If you’ve got any questions feel free to comment below.
i watched a lot of videos but i still couldn’t do it. this video made it so much clearer for me. thank so much :D
That's fun! Thanks Hannah :)
Thanks good vid 😊
thank you for making this mistery trick more clear :) a lot of work is ahead. By the way, once you managed to get it right on bass clarinet, can you do on it on Bb clarinet too ? btw your mouthpiece is lovely !!!!
Sorry for the very delayed reply, Yes!
It's harder on clarinet, purely because the reed Is smaller so there's less contact area, but as soon as I could on bass, I could slap on Bb + and sax, although not as well as on bass.
Lovely accent!!!
Nice accent!!
how do you get the air to go through when youre slap tonguing because i cant do it
