I don't know that most of the leather upgrades were more work-friendly leather options, tho. Spend more t' get less functional thing overall. Most people who plan to work in them should get the rugged brown ones that cost less [Grand Canyon?]. They are still thin compared to real PNW and don't really need the cap toe, and only 6" option is meh, etc.
you hate break in, I had suggest, When I break in with brand new a pair boots, I oiling my boots with almond and lanolin, maybe around 70:30. mixed them without beast wax. Oiling your boots and leave it about 1 or 2 days. The leather will absorb deeply and make it being soft. Polishing with leather polish before wearing it....and ready to go sorry about my broken english, I hope you get it
I actually had just done this with my iron rangers, and just did it before my new video on the challengers. It helps SOOO much to condition the boot, and leave it for 2-3days. Made both of the boots a completely new boot!
Just received my pair in stone rambler. Only came with one pair of laces (the over-length set). Have emailed them asking for the other two sets of laces to be sent. They seem pretty decently assembled on first look. Sizing is as per Thursday website (I’m a 10 in sneaker and ordered a 9.5 in these), and fit is good. Time will tell 👍
Nice! I love my pair! I have about 100 hours into them so far doing work. The sizing for me hasn’t changed by much. Had to start tying them a little tighter though. But will be doing a full review at the end of the week! 😊
Didn’t think about this till just now… But I didn’t address the lace issue. Mine did the same, only came with the SUPER long laces.. I contacted them, and they said they’d ship them once the factory got them in. So I don’t know when I’ll get them lol.
Most people complaining about bad/long break ins are dealing with a sizing issue. Get your brannock again, get sized correctly. Also those Thursdays.. your whole foot is titled forward in it, it’s shaped like a slide 🛝 from the heel forward. Boots should be flat under-heel, not canted forward
They are slightly slanted forward in the heel, but not so much so that my weight was on the ball of my feet. At least that was the way it was for me. I just had to tighten the boots a little. Edit: As far as the break-in, it’a really not that bad.. Have about 100+ hours in them, and they probably broke in within the first 75 hours.
Hey, thanks for the video. Did you get the same size as your red wings? I have iron rangers that are a perfect fit, and the captains at the same size are a bit to narrow, at least the regular D version - pairs half a size up or the wide ones are okay, but the Iron Ranger is still the best match.
I went half a size up from my iron rangers. And there’s about a quarter of an inch from my toe to the end of the boot. And when they were brand new, my big toe and little toe were touching the edges of the toe box of the boot just ever so slightly. Hope that helps!
I don’t understand how those fit you so well, I’m an 11, I got a 10.5 and they tight, like my pinky toe if in pain. I’m thinking I should’ve gotten an 11, length is fine just not wide enough
If this is for the Challenger, Gotcha! Yeah, I went half a size up from my iron rangers, and half a size down from sneaker. My big toe and pinky toe are just touching the edges. However, the toe box is slightly less round from the Iron Rangers too. If this is for the logger by Thursday: Those are tight. I probably should’ve went my sneaker size on that one (10.5).
I had t' go half size UP from Brannock [as w' most Thirsty models] and then still put in insert t' lessen slip and add some toe comfort.

One thing I did not mention in the video: The gusset for the tongue is all the way to the top, not a quarter/Halfway up like on the Iron Rangers.
I enjoyed your review 😊
Thank you so much! :)

Look at the 55 last for example, flat under heel, slanted in the waist, slightly sprung in the toe. That’s what a pnw should look like

Are they American made like the logger?
Mine say made in mexico
No, but they are made like the American Logger boot. Just made in Mexico. Will do a full review at the end of the week!
