I had only a handful of black friends as a child (who normally had moved to the town from the inner cities of Manchester/Birmingham/London/Leicester) but never knew anyone of them to suffer any racism. If they did I never heard about it.
My parents aren’t in the least bit racist. My sister had a relationship with a mixed race lad. My parents never cared.
I met a guy from Jamaica. He asked if my parents would mind his colour. I told him it wouldn’t even be thought of and was surprised that he even asked that question. Having read and learnt a lot more about how poorly black/mixed race people have been treated, I’m horrified.
I’m so lucky my parents never inflicted any racism on me. My friends are my friends, black or white

I was 15 when this came out back in ‘96. I still have it on cassette tape. I am currently reading Mariah’s book today in 2023. The story behind the making of this remix is very interesting. I really like how Mariah, Da Brat, JD, and escape remained professional amid the chaos.

I remember when Mariah started to infused more hip hop and R&B into her sound during the Daydream era. I recall people being so taken aback by it and didn't understand it. Some of the remarks made were so dumb to me cause I thought music was music. It's as if people wanted her to stay in this pristine pure pop image carefully crafted by Columbia. The hip hop/R&B sound seem so natural for her and I loved her music more when she went into this direction. I guess Mariah was simply ahead of her time.

Da Brat did an interview how her and Mariah would go some where in the home. To talk and help Mariah get out of that marriage of her. Since she got divorce from her 1st husband.
