I gave up on the mac , for some reason even i connect it on the cable when testing stream profile i got 10k bitrate and can stream in 1080p60 but once i start streaming pretty fast bit rate falls to 3k . Im having older 15” intel mac book pro with 6-core i7 cpu 32gb but still cant use it for streaming and ive tried everything. So currently im using borrowed much weaker win laptop and thats working like a charm for some reason.

I have been streaming for years now, and finding out how to do all this on my own was a nightmare. I game on X-Box but my setup is very similar to this one with a few minor changes. Bro where do I connect the usb 1 slot to? And on the PlayStation what sound (output device) to use. And what mic device to use
@@Yami2Hero the USB C slot should connect from your Elgato to your laptop. I imagine your commentary mic should also be connected straight to your laptop too so that can be used as an audio source in Streamlabs. The sound output device should stay whatever you’ve had it as this whole time. Alternatively, experiment and see what works if there are issues. Happy streaming! 😊

I started streaming earlier this year but my setup wasn't this dialed, I just simply hit live on the Playstation itself and did that, but after seeing this I'll be making a complete 180 and will make another attempt because I do enjoy it a lot, this might be my sign to get back into it! I've actualy built a mini streaming setup like this, replicating my main setup, love streaming on a macbook air M2 its been great, best of all barely any equipment compared to what im used to, even more streamlined i used the facetime cam 😂 (with some software tweaks) , great guide easy to understand 👌🏼
I am lost I need a step by step. I don’t know which end of the chat link pro goes into where. I don’t know what settings on the ps5 to use as far as mic/output device. And I don’t know where to put the other end of the usb 1 cord that connects to the game dac please help

Yup, similar setup as me! M1Pro, Nova Pro wireless, HDX cap card, PS5, OWC 12 port dock… with WaveXLR + SM7B plugged into to line in on the Nova Pro. No chatlink pro needed for my specific setup. 🎉
Details: WaveXLR 3.5mm line out to the line in of Nova pro DAC… PS5 audio set to “hdmi TV”… this is how you bypass using chatlink! All hdmi capture baby! 😊
Now with this video here, he shows a great way to stream with only 2 usb ports! Nice! My setup requires a huge usb dock with many ports.. so pros/cons.

Just a heads up, it doesn't need to be an Elgato Chatlink cable from the DAC to the capture card. I use the exact same setup with a regular generic P3 cable from the DAC's output into the Elgato Capture card.

Why is it advantageous to have game audio & mic audio as one audio input? I enjoy having control over each one independently and I can add filters to the mic (A50). Thanks for the help. My HD60 X & chat link pro come-in today! STOKED!

@@MidnightMan Makes sense! I have a ridiculously complicated setup. I’m pretty sure it is the only one like it in the world. Wiimote & Nunchuk on PS4, 55” LED TV on the wall, my butt on the couch, a 36” swiveling piece of PVC pipe jutting out from the wall behind me, a camera mounted on the top of that pipe pointing down, paracord hangs my WiiS4 Controller from this pipe, then I have A50s and a M3 MBP, to boot! Hahaha!
Upgrading from AVermedia to the cat. My next upgrade needs to be an external monitor of some kind. The MBP is off to the side so I can’t see comments pop up. The very next upgrade will be some form of Stream Deck.

5:20 how did you get your mic audio to be around the yellow area? whenever i try doing it, its barely at -45 db and when i try to use gain filters, it echoes very loud and bad. my mic level is already at high too

There's one more work around for the audio you can do if you add one extra aux cable to the chatlink pro. I've got my Nova Pros connected to my Mac on USB Input 2 for whenever I want to stream. (This means USB 1 which is connected to the PS5 can be used if I'm just playing on the PS5 without any need for the extra stream peripherals. I was finding issues with Bluetooth whenever I connected to my Mac as the secondary connection with this headset. I'd hit pause on a YT video and suddenly my audio from Discord would stop coming through too.)
The chatlink pro connection closest to the isolator switch is plugged into my controller headset port and the other end is plugged into the Line In of the DAC. I've then got an aux cable connecting the chatlink pro with the HD60X audio port like you have in the video.
Just means you always get audio coming through the headset even if streamlabs isn't open.
Can someone explain where you would plug in the Chatlink pro cable if you don't have wireless headphones? I have a astro a40's with a mixamp and I'm confused about the configuration without wireless headphones. would I plug my a40's and mixamp to my mac instead of the console? please help... thanks in advance!!! much love for the awesome video

2:25 Can't you talk with your team and to the gaming stream without that audio device? Or it does need to be included in the setup?
The DAC makes the headset function the way it's designed. Even without streaming using the headset, the DAC is still used. The chat link is so the audio that I'm hearing out the DAC goes to the capture card to be recorded.
Could the mic on the headset be used to talk to game chat too (since you used the chatlink cable)? and the usb mic plugged into the mac be used for commentary while streaming? & still being able to hear both the audio from the mac & ps5 with the nova pro?

Question, if you want to use a seperate Mic for better quality voice over of your streaming, can you still use your headset mic so people in the chat can hear me? Or would stream labs record both the game chat (me included) and the audio from my stand alone mic?
