Its so much better when they go forwards to crash. Coming from a UK background and an avid watcher and ex racer of Banger Racing i really struggle to get into Demo Derbies which are slow reverse hitting for 15 minutes untill someone runs out of fuel. This was one of the better DDs ive seen as drivers were crashing what i would deem as properly. Good stuff
@@DemolitionDerbyMN @Demolition Derby MN Thanks for the reply! Youl be surprised. Theres far less deaths than you think. Theres alot of safety build rules that we follow, as well as a full race harness and now the majority use 'HANS' devices which restrict forward movement of the crash helmet on a foreward impact. Plus i feel the cars are a bit less prepped strength wise than yours so that the cars feel the impact more than the drivers do. Although the ideas are the same in a sense of the cars are built to take hits and 'bend' in the best way possible to prolong the life of the cars. Heres a good example of a car built right at the hands of one of the sports best. th-cam.com/video/d5vvVOYroiA/w-d-xo.html
That's one of the best heats I've watched. Reminds me of derbies in IL back in the 90s when it was all old iron and stuff bent. Shared vid on FB. Subbed. Awesome channel.
@@TheShagdog1313 There's a youtube vid of a compact derby where a guy is driving a 60s Mustang; he got folded up just as bad but still managed to get around and lay on hits for several minutes.
That was some fast paced hard hitting action. Haven’t seen to many derby’s like this outside of Utah.
Some reason chain and limited weld seem like the best in MN
minnesota people go pretty hard for the most part but there plenty of baggers
There’s plenty of hard hitting shows outside of Utah lol

About Utah. Minnesota is better

how do you keep from getting killed in banger racing?
And how do you know who won? They go any direction they want , cut through the infield , I truly don't know how they keep track of who won.
What exactly are the rules for banger racing?
One of the best derbys ever and the lady in grey watched a grand total of zero seconds of it.
You got that right, I hope I make it to this show this year!

@@bwilliams463 that shows guts and determination, I love it.
One more shot and those guys were vegtables with a side of impala bumper
Why did 13/9 bend so bad on that hit? Weak frame? Notch it wrong? A little rusty?
I know the car was in a heat right before this one, think it was a 2-man car.
The blue car in the beginning got teamed up on so bad.
That car looked like sheriff Burford T Justice's beat up Pontiac in Smokey and the Bandit lol
Right! lol I love that movie, have you seen John Shneiders from dukes of hazzard remake?
@@DemolitionDerbyMN nah I haven't actually.. I should watch it.
Did they say justin hock on the 15 car?
right, some of those announcers are funny, I think the first announcer was drinking and was replaced half way through, I think the mini trucks or so.
How is that cars driveshaft still in place.
Or and how was the transmission holding up also- I would like to know the outcome if no drivetrain was broken.
They weld the universal joints to make them solid and if rules permit the engine and transmission are hung on chain links to allow plenty of movement
Great job driver's that what we like to see
Mean machines
Junkin' those junkers
