So when you choose what car to drive in one of these things, do you go for a car that's unsalvageable? Some of these seem to be in awfully good shape to be crunching around in here. I do realize that it may be a totally different story once you actually walk up and take a good look at the cars though.
It needs to be somewhat solid to win
I just watched an older derby on TH-cam and there where several 2 door 60's impala's
@@MX-CO I gotcha. I like to restore old cars, so seeing some of them get crunched up hurts a bit. I can see using one that has too much rust in the frame or floor pans though.

Sorry just saw the video. They gave him a paint job win and was taken out of this to go to the final for a chance to win 5grand by what the announcer said.

How did the wagon make it on instead of the Lincoln? He literally hit him and stalled keeping the wagon from making another hit. Its not pinning if its not "intentional"

What is the theming behind the event as a whole?
It was over Halloween weekend, so they were playing of that theme and Graveyard. Also the promotion head is a big fan of wrestling, so there was a number of plays off that as well.

I don't know but I know one thing I think it's one of them black cars in there has got some kind of bumper or something rigged up where they are just destroying people's rear ends they destroyed 007 they put a hit so hard on that station wagon that I don't know how the car is still driving with the crazy somebody's got it going on in this heat if you're a sandbagger you're getting took out for sure these guys ain't playing around

@@cody263 no it isnt but we do have destruction derby's as they are quite often called over there which is the same thing last car running please dont get me wrong as a Britt i love American motor sport i am a ex racer (now 60yr old) and an ex drag racer but started on short oval dirt tracks and have owned some as i call the muscle cars including a very nice z28 i think it was a 1968 but cant be sure it was the bigger one not the formula 400 shape but my absolute fav was a 1977 t top fire bird in white swooped out the 400ci lump and fitted a 455ci sd motor and fitted black jacks 4" straight through pipes twin 750 double pumpers on an 9" ram tunnel (had to remove the shaker scoop the local cops really hated it and me it ran 900bhp with no2 15 grand under the hood small by todays numbers but 30 yrs ago over here in uk that was big loved it and miss it but no disrespect was meant by my comment i watch your motor sport on a weekly basis and still enjoy it just sad they dont run a full 1/4 now respect dude but have a look at some of ours you may like it

@@TeaBagsForDays well when yall have an incident when a car runs over a wheel still attached to an axle and the axle comes through floor up through the seat of car, almost goin up the ass of the driver, they'll start stopping the derby for debris.

Just had a guy buy a SOLID 99% rust free Grand Marquis from me. This is where it’s going to end up. And most of the time, yes they are solid cars. At least solid frames.
generally we buy lots of 70s stuff, and often what it is in Canada is the cars have been parted out or parked for a long time but if you go to one of these shows they’re generally really solid frames with some sizeable work to get em om the road again
