Very informative and intriguing video, Thank You! After integrating with Ragdoll solver, the motion looks fine in Houdini but in Unreal the character is on a treadmill and when they collapse, the treadmill pushes them backwards. Is there a setting which will counter animate this "treadmill"?
Omg stop duplicating unreal workflows. Unreal already has a dedicated framework to do this, why should people run through those complex set ups and import/export troubles to do the same they can already do in the destination app.
What you need to understand is there are Unreal artists, Houdini Artists and Artists that use both... this vid is simply for Houdini artists, so they can bring the asset to their comfortable DCC for tweaks before taking back to Unreal for final layouts
This is for Houdini artists who want to use Metahuman assets to create animation using the new procedural Kinefx retargeting workflow. Wind your neck in.
Thanks for putting this out. The information about this has been pretty scarce. Looking forward to more engine integration.
This was a great watch! thanks Goldfarb, as always
My struggles is majorly with Facial capture in houdini.. is there anyway to use merahumans or custom character with facial capture in houdini

Nice, it’s Endorphin 20 years later
Hey thanks for this Michael, got any Houdini scene files you can share via the Sidefx tutorials page?
not really - this one is really super basic and can be recreated using existing tutorials
Is there any project file for this ? I mean you can refer the character import to UE.
Any info on how to deal with the facial animation?
It would be amazing if they added some facemocap functionality
Uooww, you're testing Houdini 20 hehehe

If you watch the video, you'll answer your own question.

You lost me at "complex set ups" you must be very new to Houdini.
Ignorance is a bliss
