I remember it well. When I was a young kid back in 2012 to 2014, I stayed in Victoria General Hospital for 3 days of the week for 3 weeks because I was keep throwing up from my allergies. There was a play place in the hospital near my room and it had a Nintendo N64. The console was purple and one controller was grey and I forgot exactly what the other controller’s colour was but I think it was a transparent gold or yellow. The first game I played on it was MarioKart 64 and my first map was Kalimari desert (because I loved trains as a kid) And I remember stopping at the railway crossing to get hit by the train. And I did that over and over and over again. This song gives me both a mix of good memories of fun and bad memories of being stuck in the hospital. But bad memories or good memories, I loved it!
Same in 2016 when I was I spent 1 week at the hospital vomiting and with diarrhea Now I have a huge trauma with puking and just thinking about it gives me goosebumps 💀 Sadly I didn’t have a console to play at the hospital but I did watch a lot of tv :)
I'm here because OfficialVGM's uploads of the Mario Kart 64 soundtrack are all dead now. While I do love this song, and in fact used to whistle it back in the day when Mario Kart 7 was new, I do kind of regret bailing out of every online match that took place there when I got hit by the train and pretended that character was "dead".
CHILDhood, that is. So many people have fond nostalgic memories, whether from this track being in Mario Kart 7, or from a late-teens youngster recounting a time they had to stay in the hospital on account of chronic allergies and by some chance of fate there's a play place with a Nintendo 64 and Mario Kart 64. Australia's hospitals are DOPE.
remember when if you lost line of sight from the other racers, you could essentially just run away with it? i remember one time on 50cc i managed to lap up to 5th place.
This game and level bring back so many memories being 14 yrs old having sleep overs with my two friends, and we’d also play 007 golden eye 1 on 1 or all controllers, and switch to snes for killer instinct, but, n64 is where it really was at with the nostalgia and the music aswell. Good times best memories best years period.
Call me silly, but I gotta say I love the simple relaxing melody of this one. The bass is pretty subtle but it definitely carries the tune when you have headphones on.
somehwere in the internet there is a video of people on power wheel cars racing on a beach to this song !!! and honestly I felt jelous lol , never the vid ever again just once
Im the guy that thought that i could beat the train snd then i hear luigi just go OWOWOWOWOW OWOWOWOWOWOW OWOWWOWOWOW and then everyone else starts going and suddenly im in 8th place recovering from being hit by a train.
i thought the desert went on forever before i knew game limitations existed and got mad when lakitu put me back on the track
childhood wonder
ME TOO
Don't fret it, it's not as bad as me thinking Royal Raceway was in Mario 64 if I tried hard enough to get out of the front castle area
Me three
but hey could have been worse....... getting Nudged by an Invisible Wall which just showed more of the Desert!
The fact that you can drive through the tunnel alone makes this an A-tier track
I loved going through the train tunnel
It felt risky and explorative
Well now its actually in MK8D, and i love it
@@Lightblue2222 but he HAD 2 TRAINS JUST USE A CHEAT L BUTTON TO LEVITATE AND WAIT
@@filipoholz For me I prefer this one more
Now the train tunnel is an actual part of the track!

How old are you now? 13?
@@RowdyBrian17 debe de tener 14-16 ahora
im pretty sure i was born at that hospital lol, what a coinicdence
why tf were you using an N64 in 2012, 16 years after it released?

I loved how this course gets referenced in Paper Mario 64 lol
“The train course”
-Schaffrillas
Loved the train on this map.
Same
I agree🚂🚃🚃
ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS FALLOW THE DANG TRAIN MARIO.
Bowser: yeah stupid, except I am too big to seat on this kart just can’t reach that brake
Welcome back, old friend
Best part that put me on a nostalgic trip 0:34
My second favorite track, for some reason i love trains and the eseast best desert course
Its coming back very soon.
It's not the same, but it's good
The whistle is dope
If trains had themed music this would be it
Certified hood classic

@the6runawayguysfan35 you misunderstand the meaning of hood classic

Even though i have never played mario kart 64 i have a weird feeling like ive played this track before
probably because it is in Mario Kart 7 and now in Mario Kart 8 booster pass
@@jellotoad64 if i encounter someone online that has a booster pass then it allows me to play this map XD

Everybody getting stopped by the train got me dying every time
OMMFG ITS THE TRAIN COURSE, THE TRAIN COURSE IS HERE AAAAAAA
It took me more than 20 years to notice the reference to Ennio Morricone!
Nah we got that New Mexico type beat with this one
It just feels nostalgic when the beat gets down
I love when the CPUs brake but they still get hit by the train xD
Me: Casually racing
Train: And I took that personally
raise your hand if you kept getting hit by the train several times
Me: *Get hit by the train while being stunlock in the air for 30 secs*
Gotta love how the beat of this song sounds like a train chugging along
This song is kinda similar Living for the city from Stevie Wonder, is like they took the Stevie’s song and put it a faster tempo
Call me silly, but I gotta say I love the simple relaxing melody of this one. The bass is pretty subtle but it definitely carries the tune when you have headphones on.

Yup
I love this its to peaceful and im glad they brought back to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
That song brings back great memories, so nostalgic.
Whoever disliked this got hit by the train many times
This was my favourite course, idk why.
mine was banshee boardwalk, dik why, especially because im thalassophobic now.
still love it but the water scares the shit out of me now

*TRAIN*

*Train never ending hitbox*
Yee haww babyyyy!
I love how some (or most) of the CPUs here barely ever stop when the train approaches, it’s like they want to get hit by it. 🤣
It's strange how so many people just... neglect that this course was already in MK7
I love this ❤
Ping Ping Ping Ping *train passes by* Tshh Tshh Tshh toooot Ping Ping Ping Ping (I always loved that train in the circuit)
Alguien viene por el vídeo de una pizzería? Jajajaja like si vienes por eso 👍🏽

I always was following the train

That raceway teach me than the B button have a function

My favorite course! But not my favorite music. Still sounds good.
Was that supposed to be an obvious reference to "Good, Bad and Ugly" in there?
He ripped this from the "Choose Character" - song in Pilotwings 64.
There a bit a similar only for the first 10 seconds but everything else is completely off course
