Wow, this is insane. I'm starting to play again after 10 years and I pulled both these cards in my first booster pack. Thanks for the awesome build tips!
You can also use the transmute cards as a tutor for everything you need. And that is not casting a spell from hand
Fun video. I pulled faceless one from a pack a few weeks ago and have been wondering how to make it work. I feel like what would’ve made the card better is by allowing it to have a background while being a background, which would be a cool loophole to the two commanders rule.
I mean.. If we ignore the singleton rule (since otherwise you couldn't have 2+ anyways), that would enable you to play any number of them (say 90+) and essentially start the game with a library of size 7 or 8.. I think you know where I'm going with this, but the possibilities for combos are virtually endless.. For 7 cards, you can even mulligan once and put whatever card you want as your library.
Edit: Or do you simply mean the current rules but allowing you to have one of them count as the creature and the other as a background? (so ignoring singleton, but not allowing each of them to have another background)?
@@total_dk6517 That would be pretty busted. But I meant something similar to the second option. As an example: You choose Alora, Merry Thief as your commander, Then choose Faceless One as Alora's Background, then choose Tavern Brawler as Faceless One's Background. I haven't heard an official ruling on this, but if its possible, it would actually give us a reason to choose Faceless One as we could then pick another color for our deck on top of the first and third commanders colors. I don't think it would be very broken either as this loophole only allows for a maximum of 3 commanders. I could be misinterpreting the card's text, but it is a fun thought experiment nonetheless.
love seeing creative brewing like this, keep it up.
3:22 wait so when you tap veal you tap for both effects? how does that work?
If Val have at least 4 toughness, you can tap her for 4 colorless and untap her with mentle for 3 to get +1 colorless each iteration.
@@whilelmschuyler2043 oh, I read power instead of toughness
Isochron scepter w dramatic reversal. Monstrous OOF.
Huh and I thought I was the only one with soft spot for this commander. I used it Shameless Charlatan though to steal people's commanders and do silly things. This seems more consistent.
Sage of mysteries approve
I really like this concept and might have to steal it for myself, if you do create a deck list please let me know
So I’m lost about this card because it is a background that says choose a background does this mean we can have 3 color decks? With faceless one a diffrent background and an actual creature? Cuz that would be cool to explore if not I understand but I feel like as of right now until a ruling is put out it’s not like grasping at that idea is wrong
Interesting thought. I looked up the rules, and unfortunately, they specify that you can only have TWO commanders. Kinda sucks, your comment actually got my hopes up lol
@@virulentskills225 ya but couldn’t that be re ruled or something? Cuz this things only purpose is adding another color to your commanders color identity
Idk maybe wizards could make an exception for backgrounds
Love this tech ^^
Winning with infinite mana is quite the most unfun way to play the game.
Yiada yiada, tutors, infinite combos, "my deck is casual"
Losers mindset, bringing competitive weapons to casual tables.
I mean he literally calls it super overpowered lol. The beauty of edh is that you can take an idea and tweak to your specific liking
"No! You MUST choose the shittest cards of your collection otherwise I won't be happy."
Who asked
so go play hearthstone
