    I could see this commander having catastrophic blowouts in most games. Opponents will save instant speed removal, and kill Jon in response to you casting one of the bad cards, so that you just have bad cards in your deck. Its far safer to just play him less mean, and use him to throw unblockable or highly invasive stuff to opponents to get card advantage and make them harm each other.

    • @peakeythebard1454
      @peakeythebard1454 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Swiftfoot boots, there are also a few hexproofing effects in blue and som other flicker type effects that you'd want anyway that can keep him alive. Also counterspell.

    • @FlawlessP401
      @FlawlessP401 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah no. First most people aren't gonna run enough removal to get rid of everything. Also you run payoff effects and lots of counters. Plus the standard commander protection suite.
      He's not even a high priority in most games. Plus your opponents don't always mind the creature. Like discarding a card is a small price for a 9/8 on turn 5

    • @FlawlessP401
      @FlawlessP401 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Played this deck a lot. No one kills him. By the time you're killing him you're losing removal you need for other threats. Plus you don't only run bad creatures you gotta run a board too. Like Bitterblossom and Sacrifice payoff effects. My deck basically gives a bunch of stuff that forces sacrifice in people and then I run a bunch of sacrifice payoffs and synergies.
      So you give then garbage and steal the good stuff they have to sacrifice to it. Run like 3 tutors to always have your stuff ready. Expedition Map to help get big mana Cabal Coffers urborg combo. Then torment of hailfire for a big x.
      Basically just distract them with bad stuff hobble them with your good stuff and then try a big win

    it reads: Commander creatures you own have "at the beginning of your end step, exile up to 0ne target taped creature you control, then return its the battlefield under its OWNERS control"
    This means you tap to attack then flicker it back to the owners side of the field. Combine with Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward and you'd have a mono white deck that hard counters this.

    1. Homeward Path is going to freaking Skyrocket
    2. Why do I absolutely LOVE the idea of giving my opponents infect creatures XD sure there's plenty of fun creatures with destructive effects you can donate to them, but people hate infect more than most anything else.
    3. this guy will be a great political trickery deck using curses. Though a personal favorite strategy would be using plenty of steal effects and removal/counterspells with guile to make it a trade deck of sorts. that preventing them from sacrifice effect though... I feel like Im forgetting something but what.... oh yeah, Curse of the Cabal. forcing sacrifice will still be a very good strategy, since they cant sacrifice the ones you give them.
    4. Keep Equipment and Auras in mind with this deck as well. if you put them on a creature before you give them, the equipment will stay until they remove it. it could make things interesting, pending on what you equip them with.

Relentless Rats continues to be a significant creature threat through out the game, so it's not necessary to having many controlled by other opponent's. • @jstawch2608
      @jstawch2608 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      the control aspect is more dimir then gruul. I think you're right about it feeling more gruul with the types of other creatures you'll have in your deck to give away. But the initial effect is more dimir imo.

    How does the trigger of Plague Reaver work with Jon as they both trigger at the beginning of the EP do you have to sac your board and then give it or is there a way around that

    • @bytor21121
      @bytor21121 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe you get to stack the triggers in the order you want.

    • @dtopa7524
      @dtopa7524 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Both Jon and the Reaver would trigger. You can stack the triggers however you choose, but unless you can counter the Reaver trigger, you will have to sacrifice your other creatures (including Jon). Plague reaver is a bad inclusion in this deck.

    can you put out multiple goaded cards on the same opponent throughout multiple turns? because it says up to 1 making me think they can only have 1 goaded card and you must wait to give the same player another goaded card after they get ris of the first one. Am I wrong please tell me im wrong

    • @moocowp4970
      @moocowp4970 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not judge but I believe you're wrong. I believe that line says you can give them up to one during that triggered ability. So at the end step Jon triggers, and you give one creature away, but you can give that one creature to someone who already has one . Besides, if you gave them one on a previous turn THEY now control it (you are still the owner, but they are the controller), so they wouldn't control any creatures that you control ;)
      It's just a way to stop you from putting 10 bad creatures on the board and then giving them all to an opponent in the one turn.

      Cumulative upkeep is optional, so you give it to an opponent, they choose not to pay, it attempts to sacrifice but can't. Same as if you target an indestructible creature with a card that says "destroy"

    Dont think is a good commander, if you want to make it strong you have to fill your deck with bad card... if someone kill your general, this is it you loose with a bunch of bad creatures. AND when someone dies, you have to take back your awfull things you cannot sacrifice... gg well play, you loose!
    The idea is great, but it's clearly underperform for sure!
