I'm gonna miss the simplicity of cards like Mantis Rider. It was bound to happen eventually, but the average competitive creature or spell has no less than four lines of text on it. Reading spoilers for new sets is exhausting because of how micro managed the design is. Edit: I have a cube based on old, bad and unusual cards. In a world with Takklemaggot, Goblin Game and Colfenor's Plans, we are much better off having wordy cards that actually do something.
@@gillablecam It's always an event whenever we play with it. Getting playable, but low tier tempo pieces like removal and card draw was a fun challenge. My cube is not just a meme, it functions like a regular draft environment as well as a museum for the worst and oldest content that Magic has to offer. A personal highlight is when I was facing my brother. We just shuffled basics into packs and played a 50 life game, not knowing what our decks were. He cast Kaboom! and managed to reveal Draco.
I remember mantis rider in the pro tour for Khans of tarkir... Also the OG Dragonlord Oujatai was played alot in that tour. I still have that card. As a prerelease stamp .
Funny how all but one of the “best color combination” can be summarized as “standard playable at best”. Edit: Title changed, now this comment makes no sense, good.
Hey just wanted to let you know, dont get discouraged by the “success” of other channels. You have the realest and most honest mtg channel on the platform. Any time a new set comes out I don’t look at any spoilers myself until you release yours. Love the channel 💪🏽
Some of my earliest memories of Magic include my friend beating me down with Lightning Angel. I could barely comprehend the rules (probably because Yugioh was on TV), so when he was able to attack the turn he summoned without tapping I was like “hey! How come when I do that it’s not allowed!?”
Ahhh Jeskai, I actually don't remember if I've ever played Jeskai before, but it's a cool combination. Not as cool as "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)", but still pretty epic.
You have to discard before you can do anything... Decks using the keyword "madness" that lets you play discarded cards as they are discarded (often at a discount)... Can get around this.
Do you wait until there are at least 4 new cards to do these lists? … I just think It’s really interesting how nearly every single “updated” list has 4 cards cycling out. There’s no reason for this it’s just a weird coincidence. Unless….
Seeing a French vanilla card at number 1 while not seeing a ton of play right now really shows how much the power level of modern has changed.
thanks modern horizons
Good
Modern shouldn't be stale
It's extra french.. Tricolor and 3 keywords that are really typical to those colors.. :)
Top 10 cards from the 90’s that see the most play today would be a great video. 👍
Only if you limit to not the P9 because they're all staples in vintage
I'm fully behind this
Even if you exclude the power 9, pretty sure that list will just be dominated by vintage staples.
Non-Vintage please. Otherwise I see P9+ Library in my future.
That list would have to be 30 long before you'd see anything interesting
One of my favorite 3 color combinations. Great for midrange/tempo shenanigans.
Easily in my top 10 3 color combinations
Certainly one of the colour combinations ever made

All three of those were marvellous to look up, sounds like a horrible and hilarious cube

It was already the case in Khans block Standard what are you even talking about
Mantis Rider was just a power crept Lighting Angel

Esper is still my favorite three color commander. Oloro was the first commander I actually build that wasn't just random bulk.
I remember making a Narset, enlightened master commander deck. Irl many years ago . Fun deck

Inb4 they release a version of the mantis ride who also has first strike, hexproof and lifelink to compesate for power creep.
I would like to see the top 10 Jeskai performing decks. Which were thee best deck that won the most

For Wild Research, could you play the instant BEFORE you discard, or do you HAVE to discard and THEN you can play it?

Jeskai, the most patriotic combination
🇺🇸
I liked how the start of the video was different
I loved jeskai in Khans of tarkir draft
I know it's not competitive or would be part of any legalized list but GUILE, just for America.
My favourite color trio 🤍❤💙
can you do a battle of wits video?
Narset, Enlightened Master should have had Prowess
Yes
Angel’s so old it has colors printed in wrong order
Well, she wants to be a Lightning American Angel, I guess.
Old order is correct order.
@@RobotDCLXVI
Nope Alphabetical #1
I am just learning that there is an order. Never crossed my mind!
I don’t understand. Why isn’t narset more broken? (The original one)
6 mana 3/2. RNG reliant ability that requires you to fill your deck with super expensive spells to be worth using.
Your 6 drop dies to shock
In #1 why it isn't also an insect for it's creature type?
The card is describing the rider, not the mantis. Just like how most creatures shown riding horses don't have the horse type.
Mantis Rider?
Edt:
Ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Hello enperor Nizzahon from planet Magic

I tend to wait until there is significant change, and that often amounts to 3-5 cards
Wooo
I remember when we just called it USA 😂
Top 10 decks that lose friends, plz 😂
TEAM USA!!
1 AM not a bot gang
Lucky for me it's 3 in the afternoon these come out. Australia gang!
Ironic how much jeskai ascendancy keeps being underestimated but also a bit overrated even after all these years.
Red white and blue..the color of America.. or used to be.
But I love Jeskai monks.. and Jeskai Dragons
WTF IS JESKAI THIS IS AMERICA 🇺🇸 🦅 🔥 🔥😤😤
Only 44 views in 3 mins, my man fell off hard
Top 10 most hated and liked color combinations. Can be 2,3, or 4 color combos
"Top 10 blue color combinations"?
