    Good timing, I was just thinking about making my own iso tib bar

    Very cool build! I love how you put the two flanges together. I'll definitely keep that idea in the toolbox for future use!

      Thanks! Yeah it was nice how perfectly that lined up and it makes it so much stronger!

    I like the original version a lot better, I want everything screwed up tight. Do you find the new boxed in build to have any advantages? Maybe you could demonstrate how it's superior.

    • @hiddenhillsskillz
      @hiddenhillsskillz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think it's necessarily superior from every perspective. But one thing that it allows you to do is target each leg individually

    Hey brother please help out?? Referring to when you said “I’m going to steal the two phalanges, nuts, and bolts (link in the description) - but don’t the link though??

    Nice job! you could tack weld them also

    • @hiddenhillsskillz

      Great idea! Definitely something I should've mentioned. I don't have a welder and don't know the trade that well, so I wasn't sure if iron would weld to steel.

      @@hiddenhillsskillz I have been a Pipeitter / welder for 27 years. I don’t usually comment on stuff. I loved your threaded pipe setup 😎 (for some of the people having trouble threading the two pieces together could use a couple threaded unions) I might use some old roll cage tubing I have around the house. Or some socket weld fittings.

      Thanks! That's really cool. When my dad saw this video he asked why I didn't just use threaded unions lol. I said, "Because I didn't even know such a thing existed!" You learn something new every day

      @@hiddenhillsskillz May I please ask, where would the threaded unions be used? What would they replace? The only instance I can see is to use a threaded union is as a substitute for the two flanges. There it might unite the 3/4" to 2.0" in order to handle Olympic weights.

      You've got it! However I haven't tested this myself

    Is there a “How to” video on how you made the wooden single leg tib bar ?

    • @hiddenhillsskillz
      @hiddenhillsskillz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, in my DIY Tib Bar video (th-cam.com/video/3dpeDZNyI4E/w-d-xo.html) @7:43 I show how I built my single leg wooden one

    Does this version of the iso tib bar work for 1 inch weight plates?

  • @asherray4969
    @asherray4969 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Cost $289 Australian dollars, which is $207 USD. Still way more expensive than your version but $207 is big difference from $300

    • @hiddenhillsskillz

      True, but with international currencies constantly fluctuating relative to one another and shipping & tax included it's close enough in my mind. Good point though!

      Sorry, I don't make these to sell. I've got a lot of other projects I'm working on at the moment.

    How long is the piece the actual weights slide on?

    • @hiddenhillsskillz
      @hiddenhillsskillz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I didn't reply to this sooner! My piece is about 10 inches long, but it's longer than it really needs to be. I wanted to make sure I could fit several plates on there, but all my plates are thick concrete ones

      Unfortunately I'm not. I've got too much on my plate and have lots of other projects I want to spend my time making.

    Braze weld them

      I would if I could, but I don't have a welder or know how to use one

      @@hiddenhillsskillz get a bernzomatic torch and yellow map-pro gas tank from Home Depot for like 30$ and a pack of thin brazing rods for like 10$ which should last you for years and that’s all you need. Very easy to do if you are not looking for the most beautiful welds plus the brazing rods are made of brass which will give it a golden weld which will look cool. Or go to your local welder and have them weld it for cheap and bang it will be indestructible.
      If you braze weld it please give me a shout out! 😎
