Vetassess is the worst! I booked their consultation for $250 from their official site they said i would get positive assessment based on the documents i provided so i went ahead and applied and got negative outcome! 😂 wasted like $2000 on the whole process
Support from ACS was terrible in my case. I have no idea how they would/could assess phd graduates who mostly end up under IT categories. I had to opt to my Washington accredited BSc with Engineers Australia to get PR. Fortunately I had 90 pts for ACT doctor stream without work exp.

Karl, while I agree with all your points, I understand why the government is introducing these rules. The student visa system is rife with issues, and sadly it seems there may be more students here breaking the law than those following it. Would you agree that the student visa program is filled with individuals who disregard the regulations?
Yes but there rules already in place to deal with that. What you don't do it have rules so people plan their lives and spend alot of money into the economy and then just change them as they are about to finsih their courses
Australian tuition fees for international students are crazy expensive, even for people from developed countries such as US and Canada. While there are surely people flouting the law and rules to achieve their own goals, the law should not cost law abiding people great headache and heartache to follow the laws just so the small portion of students breaking the rules would be punished properly.
People like yourself that follow the law blindly are the issue. You never stop and ask yourself whether the laws that are being broken are themselves just to begin with. Student visas are rife with issues but those issues are because of the government not the students. Restriction on working hours etc are extremely counterproductive not to mention the ridiculousness of some of the costs.

Now see, at the end ive left with nothing.Just because I choose AUS over other countries. I started masters in Feb 23, June 23 ,they said we will get 2 more yeras. Then in Dec 23, just like that if you are above 35 you are left with nothing. See the time span. 6 months. With new incentives on June 23, there was a massive student enrolments. Then what they did in Dec 23. They got what they want ... Money. This is nothing but lack of ethical and moral cobduct. And what about the lost opportunities of students like me. Time is something that we cannot get back.

I’m considering formally complaining about the TRA as they’ve been a total nightmare to deal with. I have friends who applied 2 months later than me and yet have already finished. I think you get assigned a case officer and if you’re unfortunate, they’re slower than others and you end up taking longer to finish. Makes absolutely no sense. Is there an ombudsman they report to? Would you say it’s a worthwhile endeavour?

Visa grants are always a case by case matter, but from what I see they are slowly touching May 2023 submitted applicants. There could be a wave of grants coming in mid-January next year till March but I doubt Dec 2023 cohort would get their grant before Sep 2025. Just my 2 cents

Then, there’s this thing called PR pathway, often involving a chain of various visas leading to permanent residency. Government changing rules like flipping cards without any due care has been and will continue to create huge uncertainty among visa hopefuls. I don’t know if you want to live a life full of uncertainty but I don’t want that, and many will not want that either.

That is not happening yet and yes there are always a correlation system set up for such transitions
