Absolutely right! it is a blast to ride. Had mine for almost a year now and put 9000 miles on it so far. Had the Klr 650 and the Tw200, Loved them both but this tops it for me, at least now. I got old but I still want to get there, and I go a ton more places than I ever did. Enjoy! By the way at about 5000 miles mine seemed to settle in and the horsepower seemed to increase.
@@jaykay643 very fair comparison, I’ve owned both. Power/weight aren’t too far apart. My wife actually sold her TW for this. No regrets. The new xr150 should be interesting too.
After a 2 month waiting list I just picked up my new CT125 2 days ago. I need to get it insured today and then let the adventures start. I started off with a TW200 and really enjoyed it. Then I upgraded to a Kawasaki Versys X300 so I could do so road trips, etc. I love that bike but I hardly ride it and wanted something smaller for goofing off on. So, the Versys is now for sale and I'm selling my 150cc scooter to a neighbor and sticking with the Honda. Let the Good Times Roll!!
I sold my FJR because my wife wasn’t very comfortable on it for touring like we’d hoped. We’re both really tall, but I miss that bike and it’s engine dearly. But slow bikes fast are the bees knees!
@@ComfyDadShoes - I'm about to take my first major road trip with my wife this year so we'll see how it goes. I have the comfort seats so hopefully not too bad (I'm 5 - (9-10) and wife 5 - 6). Love to hear it! If we keep any motorcycle long term, this trail will 100% be it! My little one saw the bike at the end and couldn’t wait for me to put the basket back on so she could ride with me in the yard.
i have had mine just a little over a year now almost 5k miles and thought about putting a 143 big bore kit on mine a few times. BUT its hard for me to change something up that runs so good as it is.
I'm glad you like it because I recently ordered one...even tho I think it looks goofy/nerdy and never would have bought one before. But, I've owned enough dirt bikes to know that light weight, low power is more fun, goes anywhere, and probably why we loved trail riding our minibikes as kids. I'm sure theirs a good reason why these bikes were strapped to the back of RV's.
I’ve had sporties, cruisers, ADV’s sport tourers, touring bikes. Nothing is as fun as this bike and my DR. I promise your order is money well spent. Thanks for watching. Let me know if you have questions!
I got mine after owning the KLR 650 and TW 200 and I honestly have way more fun on this. It's set up mostly for fishing, I can get almost anywhere that I could never take the other two bikes. " I'll sell everything, But never this bike". You won't regret your order, I promise.
ANSWER: No. It sucks and is the most "resold" Honda motorcycle. I dream of a Honda CT150 Trail. 125cc is just too small to do anything it needs to do. Too slow for 55mph roads, too weak to go up any decent dirt hill, too weak to carry adventure gear for multistate rides.
@@shipmate3577 have you considered something larger that’s already on the market? Sounds like you’d benefit from one of the big bore kits, or a bike like the tw200. The trail’s use isn’t really intended for work over 55 mph, or consistent, long distance travel.
Absolutely agree. I wish the big 4 would fix their allocation strategy. Some dealers have oversupply of certain bikes in areas where demand is low, and under supply where demand is high. That seriously needs to be looked at.
I live in Panama and love lightweight motorcycles and scooters. Honda makes great products. That being said, they don't sell this model in Panama. I think its because its too expensive for most consumers here. We can buy Chinese copy's of this bike like the Cub copy's etc and they are nice. A motorcycle or scooter that is over 2300 dollars sells real slow in Panama. We have the XR150 here and its real popular. That same bike would be 3000 dollars or more in the US. Honda has decided to shrink the product offerings in many Latino country's to reflect the fact that people won't buy the more expensive models down here.
As I was reading, I immediately began thinking about the XR150 as well. The trail would be perfect in Panama considering EFI would handle the elevation changes perfectly. I didn’t know there were Chinese copies. Panama would be incredibly beautiful to explore.
May I ask where to buy it? I am in Italy, and no one honda seller knows anything about. Most think it does not exist, and that I am talking of unicorns.
Check out this 2022 Honda Trail125 shared from the CycleTrader iOS App. This one is in the NC / Winston - Salem. I’m seeing a lot in GA as well. I think a lot of Covid era purchases are coming to market. When you find one, now is definitely a good time to be a buyer!
I believe they were developed as a recreational/camping bike. Now they’re used for everything from urban commuting to riding the Trans-America trail. They really excel in places where space is a limiting factor, be it a large city or remote area. The one place I wouldn’t take one is the highway.
To me Honda sort of overpriced both the Monley and the Trail 125. For 2023 Honda is going to finally import the XR150 Dual Sport to the U.S.A. which will MSRP at $3000. I also believe Honda is starting to strictly enforce the dealer prep and fright fee amounts as so many dealers have been raping the customers so bad lately. I think freight is like $200 and dealer prep is like $100 which should make this bike about $3300 before taxes and titling. Granted it loses the EFI (In some ways to me that is a positive and much simpler and cheaper for the home mechanic) but it more along the sizing of a normal bike and it also keeps the Kickstarter on its electric start 150cc air cooled engine while being cheaper. That is now the one I am waiting to check out!
Definitely a bike I’m interested in! Hearing about the 150 was great news. Where I live, the 150 should be about $3700 OTD based on our trail fees. Some dealers during covid committed absolute robbery.
@@dragonbulley I’ve gotten to 53mph, I think. I’m 238lbs, so it could vary by rider weight. You’ll need a license to ride on any public roads. The clutch free transmission is an absolute boon! 🍻🍻
