You can say “mi gente,” to refer to Latinos as a whole. But raza is Mexican just like catracho is Honduran. You wouldn’t call a Mexican a catracho just like you wouldn’t call a Puerto Rican or Venezuelan raza. Puerto Ricans for example, are known as boricuas, you wouldn’t call them raza or catrachos.

Like I wouldn’t call a Mexican Raza if I’m not Mexican I would call him Mexican. Only race of the same would then be able to consider themselves Raza. Like when speaking on dogs, atleast we say esos perros son la misma Raza, those dogs are the same breed.
I agree. This is my opinion also. If you say ‘mi Raza’, you’re referring to your culture. You’re not referring to the Cubans or the Puerto Ricans.
