I don't know if you still check comments from older videos. Hopefully you don't because you might get stuck reading this whole thing. I have question about former gang members and getting out of that lifestyle. I hate asking people face to face not knowing if you might unknowingly offend them or like my relatives do, they over exaggerate. I won't lie and I'm sure you get it, but I've always skipped over videos i though were just glorifying someones current life as gang member. THAT'S WHY TITLES ARE IMPORTANT. I came on YT today specifically looking for an update on Javier. I for some reason was thinking about that Discovery episode from years ago and wondered if they ever did updates on any of the people that appeared in that T.V series. I was actually surprised to see your title. I knew you had some wisdom to share. Wisdom being different than knowledge. Wisdom comes from experiences and lessons learned. Even lesson taught that were taken to heart or unfortunately ignored cause it makes you think of what you said that stuck or how could you have gotten a better result. I don't want to hear from a relative or someone who hung out with a person when they were 12 yrs old. My issue or question come out of concern for some relatives that now have families. I know some are still haunted by their past catching up with them. In that that 9400 Boyz episodes, they show some Hispanic gang members in jail. Those big badass gang bangers that look like straight-up killers or that look like they have no soul remind of some of my own family members. I always knew while up which ones were a part of a gang back from wherever lived. They wouldn't bring it up but there were obvious signs like "I'll be right back" secret phone calls and then the "frrit" whistling to another cousin or uncle to privately discuss what the phone call was about. I can't help wondering if those scary looking guys in the prison cells have the silly family side. A lot of those guys resemble my uncles, cousins, and friends they used to bring around. Are they the same as my family during the holidays for example or a BBQ? Could they be next to me drinking beers together singing Dalé Pascual by Enenitos Verdes, while playing dominos or quarters and throwing darts. BTW, I hated dominos. Aside from their street names, do they call each other by silly nicknames, usually given to us by an older Aunt or Uncle? You know the names they gave us that basically were a mockery of our looks, personality or body shape And those names have stuck with us to this day. Like Kéko, Flacco, Checho, Wedo, Red, Werewolf and his brother Fat Jerry, Pelón, Pelitó, Jasó and Odé(short for odallé because he was slow and fat), and of course (insert any name) and put "Little" before it or "ito" at the end. Little Noe or Betito. Once out of that life and older, do they have a certain fear like a PTSD perhaps? I'm not talking about the average persons fear of being robbed, mugged or carjacked. I'm talking threats from former gang members you hung around with or rivals that may remember you? Most of my cousins and uncles are older and no are longer associated with the gangs. Is it that easy? Sometimes I'll be out at a bar with one of them that constantly looking at who comes through the door. Or one time I was driving and a car pulls up slowly next to us at a stoplight."Who's this?" He says all paranoid. "It like one of my old homeboys." I think it ended up being a 90 year old grandma that he claimed must have bought homeboys car. But then their are my other relatives that claim it's all cool.
