Hi. Congratulations on the channel. I also have a mini lathe and I machine steel using inserts designed for machining aluminum (CCGT060204 AK H01 for normal machining and CCGT060208 AK H01 for interrupted machining).
I'm also testing the CCGT060204 ML KT8060 and I'm really enjoying it. It seems that the sharpening lasts longer.

Hello, Thank you a lot for wathcing the videos. I am very new to machining and trying to learn tools. Hss is simple yet great tool. But for the rebar its really not easy to handle.

@@UpCycleMaker Thanks man, but I think I'll pass... it's a bit too small for me.
I also suppose it doesn't have a thread cutting feature?

not sure how safe the towel idea is, if it gets caught in the chuck it will turn into a flail and possibly rip the tooling out.
as for the rebar, try mounting a small grinder to the tool post to help grind out some of the waste material to get it down to turning stock,

I wasnt feel safe when i use it too but at that time ı dont have anything solid to cover rails. I will keep in mind grinder trick i will try it in the future. Thanks for the idea.

Rebar is alloyed for strength and toughness not for turning.. Its an unsuitable material for the process.

Yes after many try i realized that its very tough. I hope i can find more suitable materials for turning to continue my projects. Since i am beginner i am still learning new materials and how to handle it.

life might be easier taking off the hard stuff with an angle grinder first.

I didnt think there might be hardness difference between middle and outerside of the rebar but yes it is :) Angle grinder mightbe a solution but i am afraid that sparks might damage the rails. I will find a solution next time. Thank you for advice.

I think that due to the construction of this small table lathe, such brutal turning is not appropriate at all. But that's my opinion.

You are right but i am trying to operate it with extreme caution. But when i search online, i saw some people make more brutal thing with this lathe and it still in good condition :) but of course working with the limit with proper material is better for machine life.

you have to buy real material, there is a crust on the bar, it is very difficult to use and you waste time and damage the tools.

You are right but since i am beginner and dont do anything commercially yet, i do it for enjoy its a challenge for me and source of experience :) but it is extremely hard to handle ı am looking for supplier for real material to turn on lathe .

tudo errado ai amigo, afiação inadequada da ferramenta, essa placa maior esta forçando o torno além de estar desalinhada, tenho um torno igual e corta muito bem

I am beginner for turning and trying to learn :) thank you for the comments. I try to find solutions to problems with what ı have :) do you saying you can cut rebar easily ?
