I had an engineer comment on one of my videos this weekend, he told me that since they were smarter than us and made four times what we do that we should just deal with it. Lol
@@bulldogsautomotiveadventur4387 I separated the knuckle from the strut, popped the axle out and then once I got the alternator unbolted, unbolted the bracket the alternator bolts to , I then lowered my hoist down, took a jack with a block of wood under the engine, took the mount off, jacked the motor up a bit and the alternator slides right out.

I don’t handle the billing at that shop, we charged for around 3hrs. Book called for around 8 because it had you pulling the transfer case. It will also barely come out the top but I’ve never done it that way
Designs that should never got off the drawing board!

I agree
Can you imagine the amount of heat that the alternator is subjected to on a daily basis!
So idiotic
Thank you! Nightmare is right. I need to get that intake off the alternator that’s where I got snagged up last night.

@@ashleyfaith82please make a video then cause I’m looking at my gfs right now and it looks terrible
Need wire from alternator to battery on 05 ford escape. Can you show one and possibly a part number
Popping the knuckle from the strut to remove the axle is the better route. Took me 5 minutes.
That changes the alignment, with a pinch bolt popping the ball joint is usually quicker and safer for me.
@@bulldogsautomotiveadventur4387 there's no caster adjustment on the strut unless you got after market struts specifically to adjust the caster.
