I might not do things the "right" way but I get things done...well most of the time. And remember, when watching videos on TH-cam you might wince but you feel no real pain, unlike me, so use some common sense before trying anything stupid enough to be worthy of the internet.

Harbor Freight review of Bauer 20V cordless reciprocating saw

Harbor Freight had a sale this weekend so I went ahead and bought some cordless tools, drained both batteries twice during about two hours of cutting, I took a break while they charged after the first round then went back out and cut till after dark. Later I used the drill to modify my granddaughter’s crib and was pleased with its operation as well.

A cracked flare sidelined this service truck, new parts are ordered but won’t be delivered for at least a week and the customer needs this in the field tomorrow so a quick reflare after shorting the line 1/2” and some tweaking the bends so it doesn’t rub got him going again. This is what I consider a temporary repair, reflaring an old steel line can result in a cracked flare and since the vibra...
Stopping a service when you find more (2011 Kia Sorento)

This service was refused by an oil change place in town, the customer was warned about a large oil leak and it was brought to us for consultation. We didn’t charge anything for looking at it or for researching the reca...
Home made tools, for when the need arises

In the middle of dealing with this job I had an idea of a tool that would perfectly work to overcome the issue I was fighting, ten minutes later I had a working prototype and it tested beautifully. You don’t always have the option to buy the correct tools, you need to have the ability to make them.

มุมมอง 1.1K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
This Audi came in as a no heat/intermittent heat concern, after confirming that the engine was maintaining operating temperature at highway speeds and that there were no codes stored in the computer I determined that we had a flow problem, flushing the heater core didn’t help so we went deeper finding an inoperative shut off valve in the heater line.

And i thought my jeep was a pain to get the alternator out. Well i was wrong
Is this the same for a 21 grand Cherokee Laredo
Three hands 😂
Good looks my man! Kept it simple and straight forward
Mine was the shifter tube had a crack where the bolt goes
Appreciate the update Bulldog. I will pray for your health and healing! Looking forward to future videos.
Maybe add a thick cable tie for the extra Safety! 2 on each. side would be safer, better and easier than a crimp i'm guessing
I was so discouraged about fixing this myself till i found your video! TY!
took me an hour to fix, MAX! And a nice trip with the stereo up to the auto parts store for a foot of hose. I just made a soft loop with 10 out of the 12 inches of hose I got so it doesn't kink. Had an extra hose clamp plus teh one I took off... let it run till it was sufficiently hot to see about any leaks... nothing! You rock!

1 thing yall will get to see is two guys who are slightly out of their element rebuild a 46RE.

Hi! Can I use 303 Aerospace Protectant on the groove side of a new belt to condition it, like putting a little silicone grease on a rubber gasket to make it last longer?
@@doradean3097 I’ve never seen that stuff, no idea if it would be ok, I advise using nothing because when everything is aligned correctly and the tensioner is good it shouldn’t make any noise
@ thanks for the advise!
Thank you for creating this video. I did not even know that that was a thing! This is great to learn about as I am upgrading my side post so that they extend out for future jumping of the battery or helping jump other vehicles. I came across this video, trying to find a video on putting a grease on the terminals to prevent corrosion.Z 71 5.3 4 x 4 288K.
@@TRX450R I’ve never seen grease make much of a difference other than creating a big mess, there’s spray that’s not too bad. As far as jump connectors I put longer 3/8” bolts in them and jam nut the cable on…but that depends on your location and how much room you have.
@ oh man! Just removed and replaced the terminals with Better Battery Bolt posts. Got them off of eBay. The positive battery cable was covered in corrosion that wasn’t visible without removing the rubber boot. Took a while to pick and brush off the corrosion. I also cleaned up the bolt and ground wire connectors under the driver side. No more lit up ABS and Brake Light on the dashboard after hitting speed bumps! Thanks again for this informative video!
1997 Lincoln Town Car Limo doing this, started to clean up the feeler brushes, but I don't want to waste time... This could be issue. Intermittent starts, new battery last Summer, need help!
@@NEJunkYardGirl wouldn't cause an intermittent no-start unless it let the battery go down... battery light should be on with key on before starting the engine
As a female, I am entertaining the idea of doing this shxt myself bcus I just don’t see logic paying 5k total on such a bill. It has 120k miles…parts plus a manual and my first time attempt. No mechanical experience but Im thinking take my time, keep ordering, have good tools and learn. 😂😂😂
@@felixsmizes this is not the job to start on, I was getting a lot of these because the ford dealership was refusing them…they sent their “head tech” to me for training and the guy walked out after 30 minutes saying “I don’t want to do this so I don’t want to learn how to do this”.
@ 😂😂😂 i mean i understand its gonna take a hella lot of patience. God is on my side brother 😂😂😂
@ if you’re doing chains without sprockets you can get away with it, pulling off those sprockets is a big deal, then they have to be torqued with new bolts
@ OMG 👀 Im really contemplating this project as challenging and crazy it seems lol always wanted to learn.
@@felixsmizes I can guarantee that it will be a learning experience, it can be done without opening the AC system but it makes the already difficult job of reinstalling the front cover a lot harder.
i'm having issues with nothing happening when turning key besides lights on dash and does this randomly. changed starter relay and didn't fix. mines an 03. i just wonder if it's the same anti theft box as the onde you found. i think it's suppose to be behind glove box. can i just unplug it to disable it and it not interfere with anything else?
@@CitizenSoldier500 not on that one, the one in the video is a single year application, and it was a passive system, I think 99 and up was an active system so it needs it to signal the starter
@@bulldogsautomotiveadventur4387 thanks man. i'm having intermittent no crank / no start and ruled out battery and starter relay. when it wont crank, i can turn key to start 2 or 3 times and it will start. i'm thinking starter solenoid next but wondering if it can work intermittently like that
@ if you hear it clicking under the hood I would suspect starter solenoid
@@bulldogsautomotiveadventur4387 i hear the relay faint click but not the solenoid. i can turn the key 2 or 3 times and it will start. sometimes it just starts on the 1st turn of the key
@ if you hear the relay clicking then it’s probably not anti-theft, need to have a helper and do some voltmeter work under the hood, see what you don’t have and when, I’d jump across the relay a few times and see if the starter ever fails
This sounds like my 2013 Explorer 4WD 68,000 miles. I have replaced the stabilizer links, lower control arms and the struts. Each time getting rid of a sound for awhile. Now when I make a left hand turn I get a clunk on the left sometimes and it varies in loudness. It will also do it sometimes on right hand turns but not as often. From watching your video I think I am next going after the Stabilizer mounts. If that does not fix it I will be replacing motor and trans mounts because I know those are also a problem.
Thanks my friend...one of the issues i have to tackle on my ford van...🎉
Also as a DIY mechanic know your limitations.
Is it safe to use CRC Belt Dressing / Conditioner?
@@cyranox90 v belts yes, flat belts no…I’ve heard of some dressings that don’t do this but of course the ones I see are the failures, whether or not it’s due to the product or overuse (because the product didn’t fix the underlying issue causing the noise).
@ thank you for your opinion. Appreciate it!
Is there any difference between belt dressing and belt conditioner?
@@cyranox90 technically yes, but when selling they use the terms interchangeably
@ is there a specific difference?
Ty for the video. Any idea of the torque spec for the steering rack to the subframe? The( 2) 17mm bolts..
@@JackKenney no, I just tighten them until tight (within reason)

2013 Chevy Express 4.3 L V6 mysteriously losing oil. Shop replaced the engine and is still consuming oil, beginning to think that the engine was never replaced. Can this intake manifold cause oil consumption issues?
@@thirdgearboogie2210 not normally, if it was cracked on the underside it could suck oil but it would have an issue with an unexplained high idle.
All True, but we live in an age of Lawlessnss. People do what they want and couldn't care less. Is is a SPIRITUAL PROBLEM and not a mechanial problem. Also LOW IQ does play a role somewhat. No cure or legislation for that!
Jus unbolt compressor let it hang down and take the alternator out from bottom i guarantee it will take 45 min
This is the best shim video i could find thank you sir. Now I understand how to do it.
Mine was still tight after braking it loose and was not able to be backed out by hand. Thank you for your response, I'm gonna look for the intermidiate dept sucket
Thank You for the video. I just completed this job. A few notes A) I removed the wheel and inner panel. This make access to the tensioner and belt much easier. B) I disconnected the radiator hose in front of the alternator. This make access to the lower mounting bolt and moving the alternator around much easier. C) I did not touch the radiator support crossbeam, fans, or radiator D) I removed the oil dipstick and exhaust heatshield. This allows you to turn the alternator pulley facedown and pull it out toward the center the vehicle next to the radiator fill E) Be extremely careful. There's thin wires connected to the underside of the bracket at the back of the alternator. These wires go down to a sensor below the alternator. You really cant remove these wire until the alternator is pulled out slightly. It would be extremly easy to accident rip these wires out and many videos fail to metion them
I just replaced the alternator on my 2011 avalon after watching about 15 to 20 other guys who had previously went through that process, and made the video available for the viewing public. Your videos helped a long in getting the job done. However one thing non of you guys addressed in your videos is the difficulty that could be encountered while extracting the bottom bolt. I ran into a brick wall literally while trying to unscrew that bolt. The deep sucket was too long to work with given the tight space available, even though I had broken the bold loose, I still couldn't unscrew it with my fingers, and the regular sucket is too short to begin with, and can't get to the bolt. I had to unscrew the motor mounts, jack the engine up to move the bolt up and above the wall that was the barrier, and had the bolt exposed, and was able to extract it with much ease.
@@bigdsyd I have intermediate depth sockets for that, I also have what’s called a spinner that is a short extension that has a large knurled ring on it to give you more leverage while backing it out with your fingers… basically since every job is so different we just deal with these things as they happen, that bolt usually backs out by hand easily after it breaks loose.
This will always leak. Fix it right. Only only do this if your stranded. Then fix it properly
@@1Buckluck that’s odd, I’ve done it this way for years and as long as it has a barb on it and actual oil hose is used I don’t have a problem. If you have a problem with every one leaking then it’s not being done correctly. I wouldn’t advise this to be done with engine oil cooler hoses though.
Thanks!
