    Impressive torch skills! Don’t see much of it anymore. People thinking they need a CNC plasma table when really a little hand eye coordination skill can do wonders. Walking the cup on that lay wire technique was pretty awesome too. :-)

    I knew from the first video it was going to be a nice build, but that came out way fancier than I expected. I'd love to see a SOLID mobile welding table for field work or people working from home who don't have enough space for a permanent bench.

    OK, this is a first class build. I saw vid 1 and all of it was completely perfect. Lotta work but used every skill in the book. Way more labor than I'd have been willing to invest and a first class pit I'd love to have. This video was great too. And here's the but...with everything put into the job in 1, and then in vid 2, I would not have skimped on the chickenshit galvanized throw bolts to hold the doors shut. Yeah, they'll work, but amateurish. You went this far. On the whole 9.75/10. I was the fortunate recipient of not one but two very similar builds (at least pit wise), in 316 stainless (one 18" diam. and anothe 14" diam.) pilfered as scrap from a chemical plant construction project. They don't have the tailgate hookup but you've inspired me. Now where to find 2x2 stainless receiver hitch! And of course, stainless expanded metal. Well done!

    Fire pits made out of plate, but do the math too!!! So like, how big to cut each trapezoid out of plate to make an octagon, or a hexagon fire pit. Something like that with all the layout. And make the plans available for all of this stuff!!!

  • @psidvicious
    @psidvicious 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love the Reese hitch and the versatility it allows.
    Cpl things that are probably only obvious after seeing the build complete.
    1. Make sure your fire is burnt down to cooking coals before you set up the umbrella or you’ll probably ‘melt’ the fabric.
    2. I can’t help but think that the umbrella is going to catch a lot of smoke and send it wafting back down on top of you.
    3. With all the work that went into this, I can’t help but think $3K+ is gonna make it out of most people’s reach for a practical tailgate grill.
    4. Consider this a prototype (and a damn good one) and think about how it could be streamlined down to an affordable production model.

    I loved the Tig welding done on this pit... gave it a great detail.
    I'd like to see a great welders job box design. A well put design that could store extension cords, miller suitcase, grinders, levels, strong hand clamps, extinguisher, and pop up welding reels for security storage. Like with a hydraulic arms that extend it up and out. I personally have been resting on that idea just havent pulled trigger.
    Thanks

      @@lilblickyboyz5364 in my opinion brotha I would feel like you should be able to use stick all the way if you believe in your work and proud with your welds you can do it ✊🏽💯!! I juss feel like he used all 3 styles (MiG, TiG and Stick) bcuz some gaps were a little small so that’s when he would use TiG or MiG so he could weld them up! I haven’t been in the field at all yet I’m still in college right now for welding, 6 more months then I should graduate as a welder! But I have been taught all three welding styles TiG, MiG and Stick!! I’m only 18 can’t wait to graduate and get to work in the field! 💯💯
