***** About Living Traditions Homestead *****
Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.
We put out new videos every week! We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we give up the rat race and live simpler, more fulfilling life in the country.

I love what Gretchen Rubin says: It’s not an empty nest. You now have an Open Door. 💕💕💕💕💕💕
How do you not have a million subscribers. This channel is just amazing.
💪❤️💯🙏🇺🇲🏡🌷🍓❤️ Totally Agree 👍💯
Your family is so blessed that you are planning for not only your future but for theirs. Thank you for sharing
The American way 😊
We are very excited that our kids want to learn how to process chickens this year. All four of them are in their 20s now. Let's hope and pray this goes well.
grew up butchering chickens, in the fall many a meal was fried chicken and corn on the cob.
Awesome! Just bought 34 acres in Tennessee and can’t wait to get started homesteading! Even started our own TH-cam channel to document it all.
Kevin and Sarah, are Remarkable Role Models for the Homesteading life style.🥰😇
Really enjoyed. How beautiful. Blessing to you.
I love that you’re thinking towards educating your grandkids. I think it’s critical to teach the new generations where food comes from.
I love how you bordered everything. And the Berries on the fence look great. You will love these berries . Yum
Love the overall look of the berries after tieing them up & putting down landscaping timbers. 👍
I truly appreciate how y’all pay attention to making each section of your homestead beautiful as well as productive! Thank you for sharing!
I am 63 years old.And I have been homesteading for over forty-three years.
On my channel, especially the shorts. I like to inspire people to include their grandchildren, where their food came from. He is
now 2 years old and helps me collect process our food. It's such a bonding time to look forward to you, two to have with your grandchildren.
I'm raising my grandchildren on my homestead. They're being influenced every day whether they know it or not. Today I'm canning pasta sauce!
Even though we don’t get to eat from the future of your labor. You provide the education so we can do this for our families.❤
Drone footage!! How cool! You guys are really stepping it up! 👏 👍😎
Still learning how to use it but I thought that footage looked pretty cool. Thanks! - Kevin
@@LivingTraditionsHomestead they are GREAT for checking the property 😀
Agreed, Kelly! Come on, viewers. Let's get this amazing couple to a million subscribers by Christmas! Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ and Eucharistic Minister. 🙏🏻 God bless you all and many prayers ❤️
Now that was awesome learning more about grapes , black berries, and raspberries. PLUS seeing how you have them planted in rows like that. Thanks so much for sharing with us Kevin and Sarah you are doing it up right for the Grandkids too. Fred.
Love your channel, watch it all the time. Thank you for your inspiration!
Thank you!
Thank you for the brilliant idea about the landscaping timbers! Now I know just what to use for some flower beds I want to make! Excellent! Thanks! 🥰🥰🥰
Love the neat way you care for your homestead. Everything is always so planned out and neat!
You two are so inspiring watching you do all that work! Now I need a nap!
You have a beautiful homestead, I love the way you arranged it, so nice and neat, good job guys it looks stunning💖💖💖
I’m loving the drone footage. Beautiful job well done. ❤
Hey Guys, your place is looking really fabulous! You work incredibly hard and deserve to have great success. I hope, with the fullness of time, that your children want to return to the farm to help you maintain it and to share it with their children. What a legacy you are creating for your family. God bless you. 😊
❤Great show!❤praise the Lord Jesus let's pray for the peace of Jerusalem ❤
Stark bros is the absolute best. I discovered them this year and I won't be going back to anyone else for my tree and berry needs. The bareroot strawberries I got from them are so healthy and they even have fruit this year. Absolutely amazing
Planning for seven gens ahead. Inspiration, You are! God's Grace is with you. Graditude.
I love the way you have grown as a couple, as well as your garden/farm development concerning order, ease of care, exquisite look of ur different areas.
I’ve learned many organization and things in areas already mentioned from you both - inside ur home and outside. I won’t be doing anything to your great extent, but extremely helpful and encouraging to copy in some form w/my small areas. It’s so doable by taking time to plan out gardens, schedule the work and worth the cost to keep things simple w/less work in the long run.
Great video.
Raspberries were one of the first plants I put in when we purchased our homestead. I love munching on the fresh berries when I go out to do the chores. You make me want to tidy up my berry patches!
Your farm is so beautifully kept! You both do a dedicated job. I’m learning so much! Congratulations and God Bless!!
I really enjoyed your walk in the woods. It was awesome
Absolutely love the way the orchard area is shaping up!
❤ love how neat and tidy everything looks. Great drone shot!
City girl here, I know my great grandmother had a “victory “ garden in the city and was the go to person for the neighborhood on how to grow, preserve etc… she was also the one everyone went to for medicinal herb uses.( she was from Ireland originally) I really wish that the subsequent generations would have kept the tradition and knowledge going! In our current environment, political, environmental etc….it so important that you pass your skills on to the next generations so they are not lost! Good for you and your family!
@lorimcmichael5846 Love this comment on your great grandma's victory garden in the city and her influence in the city neighborhood! For a while I lived in an old-city area with a little yard, and my neighbor's little children were fascinated coming out to help me plant and grow things. Young kids love being allowed to get their hands on the world around them and see a result. It was my intention to keep up and expand the outreach if I had stayed there.
Beautiful! My Grand son loves to pick the black berries and tommy toes.
Wow, it looks so neat. Your home must be spotless. 💫
Everything looks fantastic congratulations on all your hard work.....😊
My husband and I are in our 70’s and are sure busy with grandkids. Wouldn’t have it any other way. We have the chance to be a positive influence.
Next year you should put bamboo poles (find them at most hardware stores) at the end of every cattle panel, then run fishing line from one end to the other. That way you can hang old CD's/DVD's along it. The birds don't like the shiny things moving around in the breeze, so they'll stay away from the berries and grapes. Very nice and yes neat! Your garden, orchard and berry area is very nicely laid out. Thanks for sharing. God bless and protect.
Thanks for sharing your life on the homestead. Love your videos.
I like Stark Brothers. I have ordered many plants and trees from them. All lived. The grapes and berries look great with the borders
I just love all the scenic panoramic shots you’ve been doing lately. Great job! Growing and learning every day!
Miss ya'll, I think I'm missing your videos unless you just aren't making many. Ya'll are a joy to watch, your positive loving family always seems to warm my heart. ❤ 😊
Your homestead always looks so well cared for. The drone footage shows what great stewards of the land you are. Thanks for sharing it with us.
When the soil is workable, consider running a narrower tined rototiller on the grass side of your wood framed, landscape fabriced, berry and grape runs. The concept is to break-up and disrupt the rooting and riazomes of the grasses. Optionally rake the grass clump with thier roots and riazomes. Try also for a late fall tilling to expose roots and seeds to the cold winter temps. Some people till once a month for the first hear from as eae,y in thenhear as possible to as late in thenhear as possible and then mid winter if you get a dry week or two.
Hi guys, we really enjoyed meeting you two at the ozark homesteading expo. We are the couple that flew down from Michigan. You are really great people that are as nice and genuine in person as you are in front of the camera. We learned so much from the show and great vacation. GOD bless you two
You make it look so easy from the comfort of my air conditioned living room!
This video will be sooooo helpful! I really needed to see the pruning and training of grape vines. I have two out of control vines. I really like how you have weed control around them also. Nice job!
Thank you!
❤ Southern Illinois here. I love Stark Brothers. Everything I buy from them is fantastic! Also, I bought some Adjvarsky seeds for next spring! I can't wait to try them. ❤
🌺Oh how exciting is right! Yum! What a Blessing your children and grands have in you 2 as well as your parents, they must be so proud of you! It will be so fun teaching your grandchildren all you know! What a lovely gift to them, God is smiling big time🤗 Enjoy!
That was a lot of hard work, but a job very well done. I always love your faith based t-shirts, Sarah. Today's your t-shirts is one of my favorites. Start your day with prayer AND coffee😊 God bless!
Thank you! You too!
Here in southwest Michigan our grapes are trimmed in dormant season in late winter hen tied up in the spring
The grass at my home would send a rhizome under the weed fabric and send shoots up through every hole. (like around your plants)
I just love watching you two 😊
Memories are in the past by definition. Dwelling on memories is to be living in the past.
We must always have a goal to work towards.
We agree.
WOWZERS!! First year grapes and berries! What a treat!!
Good morning!
Hard at work as usual.
You're also living by example what it means to be good stewards to your kids(I'm sure this has been a life-long lesson), you're creating a legacy for future generations of your family & others in your circle of influence. Thanks for the inspiration.
I love this channel! Ty for sharing with us
Our pleasure!
Wow, that looks fantastic! Those plants will be so happy and will reward you next year. Can’t wait to see how well they do. Take care ❤.
I hope Sara makes GRAPEVINE WREATHS with those unwanted branches
I love the above view of the berry patch! It’s exciting to see y’all change and grow your channel. 👍🏻❤️❤️
It looks very beautiful and neat.
It's so neat and tidy! Beautiful. The drone footage was fun too. Congrats on the unexpected berries. Y'all are inspiring
Did you put the wood on top of the weed cloth or on the grass next to the weed cloth? I just couldn't tell but kept thinking how will you replace the weed cloth (if/when needed) if you put it on the cloth? It looks so nice AND the plants look like they can breath in lots of fresh air. Sure love watching how you two improve your piece of land every year. Congrats on a job well done.
It’s on top. If/when the cloth needs to be replaced we will have to remove the logs and put them back down. The cloth should last many years though before that needs to be done.
Another great day on the Homestead! Blessings Kiddos!🌻🐛💚🌿🙏💕👵
Those grapes look delicious! I started 2 small grape plants. I was excited to see 2 bunches but soon as they were almost ready a squirrel or chipmunk got them!
Time to have squirrel for dinner! lol.
@@LivingTraditionsHomestead 😂
It looks so good and clean, you did a good job and it will make picking berries easier, I really like your videos and you work so good together.
What a heartfelt video. I would say more but my heart is currently melting from the love emanating from your genuine words. Well done you guys. This is true success ❤
I watch all the time. I just wanted to say I have really appreciated the last two I have seen. The foraging and berryville . Thanks
I love how you're trellising your grapes and raspberries! Now I know how I will do mine!
Your grapes and berry patch look so beautiful...great job! I'm so glad that you both are able to set limits when it comes to the heat!!! Your future grandkids are going to love visiting the homestead and hanging out with you. God bless you both❤
My fall red raspberries produce way more than in the spring. I am still harvesting. I keep thinking they are going to be out of berries, but there are still more. Mine Deffinately need some managing though as lots are on the ground. So glad you posted this. ❤️🙏
Saraha, you both will be awesome Grandparents, you just don't really know until you actually experience it It is just awesome.
I have 4 apple trees from Stark Bros. They are doing great!
The drone footage shows just how beautiful your vineyard is!
look fabulous.
Beautiful, what a difference. I miss the blueberries we had in Ohio when we lived there.
Great way to start your heritage journey! Love the grapes!
Looks amazing. Bet you all can't wait to taste those raspberries.
We ate them for the next few days and they were amazing!
Looks so very good!!!
I've watched you two from time to time , and have always thought to myself this couple looks like the picture of equally yoked, in the way God intended looks great the grapes and berries I pray for you love peace and happiness you make it look effortless to be happy working together ❤
Wow, beautiful & great teamwork! Blessings 🤗🇨🇦🌻
Kevin, that border looks VERY NICE! I love neat & tidy , nomatter what it is.
You have one of the most beautiful farms I've ever seen. As hard as farming can be, I love learning how you think ahead to make every part of your farm beautiful, as well as convenient for manning and harvesting.
Form,function and beauty❤
The berry patch is looking great! I'm hoping you made a grapevine wreath for your door with some of those grapevines 😊
My Grandparents on my Mother's side had three acres of land in a Massachusetts suburb. On it, they had many veggies, apple trees, peach trees, blackberries, rhubarb, chickens and a pig. That combination fed all nine people in their family through the great depression. My parents lived in a suburb and grew nothing. I believe their generation wanted to move away from farming for simple sustenance and live a more modern lifestyle. In my 60's I began having a garden, so the example set by my ancestors stuck with me. You folks are doing the right thing setting an example for your family. One never completely knows the impact we can have on future generations.
That looks really nice. But I will tell you that the burmuda grass will get between the fabric and landscape fabric. About the only way to keep the grass out is dig down about a foot and pour a concrete curb about 8 to 12 inches high above ground level.
My concord grapes and blackberries have been gone for quite a while. That looks great, and will make harvesting very easy.
All the animals are so cute! Good videos of them. :) 😊❤. Especially the curious alert piggie! 🥰
Sarah and Kevin, do you ever use grape leaves in your pickles? I heard they are rich in tannins which help keep pickles crisp. Or am I wrong about that?
We have heard that also but haven’t tried it. Maybe next year we will. Cucumbers are all done for this year.
God bless!!
I wish I had seen these videos back when I still had the strength. I still plan on having the raised garden beds, That will make it so much easier on my husband and I,
Wow, that looks great! So much easier to harvest your fruit. God bless.
Those fruit plants look beautiful and you were very blessed to get some fruit on the first year!! Next year you will have more grapes and berries than you know what to do with!! With blueberries just know that those plants are very picky about the soil!! Love the drone footage and yes the summer is lingering on lol!!
So happy to hear you discuss coping with your empty nest. I remember being worried about our first vacation without kids. Were we really going to have a good time one on one for a full week, 24/7? One of our best vacations ever. We make a point of doing things together when possible, but it takes thought and deliberation. We’ve been married 53 years.
Looks great! 🎉
I absolutely love your ideas with the cattle panels, mesh, and pressure treated lumber. I plan to incorporate my large wagon wheels on top of heavy duty pipe, for posts into mine as well. The wheels are John Deere yellow and the pipe is John Deere green. I already had them made but wanted a good design and now you have given it to me. Thanks!
Oh my gosh So nice and tidy! You are so inspiring to so many! Thanks for sharing your ideas with us.
PS. I enjoyed the aerial view of the orchard!
Blessings from north central Texas! I find it interesting that we have such similar weather patterns. This is just one of the reasons I find your channel so helpful.😉❤️
Thanks so much! 😊
Definitely feel that there is an urgency to be mindful and get prepared ...my daughter and I bought raw land almost a year ago in missouri in the taney county area in a more wooded area to start our homestead . We moved from Washington state due to this feeling in 2020 and we sold everything we owned and turned our old horse trailer into a tiny home all by ourselves. We are very thankful to have found folks like your channel to really help us learn and gain confidence. Bless you all take care. Sherry and my daughter Kameron. 😊
looks beautiful go inside and wait till cooler ....thanks
Empty nesting is a hard thing at first. Adjusting to cooking and putting up less takes time. You are doing it right! The next generation is more than worth time and effort. God bless!
We too, are just recently empty nesters. So well put, you two…touching, and I can only hope they take what we build in Cabool. Big, lovely, hugs.
