Most MotoGP riders actually have a provision in their contract that says they're not allowed to run the Isle of Mann. It's just too damn dangerous for all the money that's invested in them.
Motogp riders are objectively speaking the superior riders though. that's why they're paid the big bucks and the Isle of Man TT riders are glorified amateurs in comparison. (That's not to take anything away from their skill and bravery),
Have been a marshal (track, pit, flag et al) at MotoGP, WSBK, F1, Supercars and WRC and I don’t think ANY of them could come remotely close to how insane this race is - ever. And besides the sheer skill of WRC drivers, I think these IOMTT guys are the best motorsports pilots in the world, across ALL forms of motorsports, absolutely…
I’d go a step further; the guys who do well for sustained periods over many seasons across multiple tracks AND on different bikes are truly goated sportsmen. Think about the attributes they have to have; strength, stamina, cat-like reflexes, sustained laser focus, encyclopaedic track knowledge, and samurai levels of control over their fear of imminent death. To need all that and keep performing at or near the top of the sport for years, no other sport comes close.

The bikes are capable of going even faster if they changed the gear ratios, but that would lower their lap times as there's more "low speed" areas than high speed ones.

While F1 has gravell traps. The TT has solid stone walls and barbed wire fencing 8-((... While the longest F1 track is 4.3 miles _(Spa!)._ The TT riders have 37.7 miles of track to remember. While F1 is now boring and pedestrian. The TT makes me nervous to watch as these awesome riders literally take their lives into their own hands. So a *HUGE RESPECT* goes out to anyone who's done it or going to do it. _But... I seriously think you're all ever so slightly mad!_
As someone who rides... riding sport bikes on back roads takes skill, but it's nothing compared to the intense focus and high-risk racing at the Isle of Man TT.

The first bike catching air, @ 00:2, did a significant rear end wobble after landing. Did the rider likely know just before take-off that he was in for a bit of trouble? I guess the expert riders know what causes both rear and front wheel wobble? Thanks.
It's a strange thing to experience the rest of the worlds when they learn of it, and see how you guys react to our sport. In Ireland in particular, and the island obviously, road racing is something we grow up with. Its so familiar to us that it's often entertaining to see people's reactions when they see it for the first time. It really is an emotional, intensely joyful experience to see the lights switch on in someone's eyes for the first time, and see a newly converted road racer take their first breaths of exhaust fumes and burnt rubber ❤️ I love this sport, and the community which continues to grow around us.
