Main highlights are:-
*Longest tunnel in India will be tunnel no. 12, which has length of 11.55 km.
*The world's tallest pier railway bridge, with a height of 141 metres at noney.
*It will have 52 tunnels, 11 major bridges; 129 minor bridges.
* It will cut travel time from more than 10 hrs (by road 220 kms) to 2.5 hrs.
*Initial target for completion was December 2023.
* Line completed upto #Khongsang 55 kms which is 108 kms by road from Imphal.
#Traffic will resume from 7th February 2024 upto Khongsang.

HOW SLOW IS THE PROGRESS? I DONT SEE ANY SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS
Yes as said, the work is progressing at snails pace. More so after the Communal violence from 3rd May 2023. Also, work is stopped intermittently due to other reasons.
When project will complete.
It is now slated to be completed by December 2024 but a lot of works left to be done. Also, there's no any work going on in Imphal station. The workers wants to go home as no work is going on.
