    How are the figures holding up? Does the dye leech out? Is paint OK over the dye?

      I know in my experience I’ve had the dye bleed through some of my paints. I’ve been looking for tips to prevent cause even with clear coat it still happened

    Has anyone tried to use saran wrap with tape over it to block off areas you don't want dyed? I was thinking that could alleviate tape residue on the figure.

    Hi, one question, is that pot of dye usable for another batch of actions figures after an hour, or at that point is it already spent?

    • @JacobsToys

      I kept this pot going for over an hour

    Do you think masking off areas would work to not let as much dye through in certain areas? I imagine there would be potential bleeding through but I'm thinking of a liquid mask as oppose to sticky tape.

      I'd do a test run on something you wouldn't mind it failing on first but that may very well work so long as the dye/water can't soak through

    Great video! Are you able to paint over the dye figures and will the paint stick?

    • @BenGetItIn
      @BenGetItIn 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe you have to modge podge first, then spray with clear enamel. Try it on a throwaway figure and see how it goes.

      @@BenGetItIn I washed my figure with soap after the dye dried up and took whatever dye residue was left on the figure. Then I painted over it, the paint sticks well.

      @@82heartofalion did you prime your figure before painting or just paint on top of the dye? And did the dye leak to the painted colors? I’m planning to dye my figure black and paint white on top but I hear people says that dye leakage is very common 😢

    You said, you couldn't dye a black figure bright yellow, makes sense, have you tried dying a black figure brown before? I've never done any customizations before, so I'm just wondering if this could possibly be an option, thanks!

    Can you mix colors for this brand of dye? I want to dye a figure a nice dark brown, but they only make chocolate brown in synthetic. I haven’t tried the chocolate brown yet, but I’m taking a guess that it won’t be dark enough for my purposes.

    Do you have to remove paint from the figures before dying?

    • @GageFilms
      @GageFilms 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the figure but generally yes, just to be safe. I tried dying a Gwen pool figure and several parts turned out to not dye at all or very little due to the paint. But it can also make and interesting effects, either way be better to remove paint for safety.
