The Polygon Siskiu TE is a brand new e-MTB for 2023. Joining the existing Collosus NE (formerly known as the Mt Bromo), the Siskiu TE utilises a simpler suspension design and features a little less travel. Along with the new Shimano EP801 motor and a value-oriented component package, the Polygon Siskiu T7E looks to be a rather appealing package for the price.
So, does it deliver on the trail?

A tip on the suntour fork: suntour forks do not have any fork oil in them. They're packed with light grease only. If you want to increase the sensitivity of the fork, I recommend putting 5ml of low viscosity fork oil in the lowers, and the air shaft, and greasing the balls out of the fork. I did that with my durolux, and she's pretty sensitive to small bumps. Dial the compression, and rebound accordingly...

When you get to the Marin Rift Zone eebs I would really like to hear how they compare to the Polygons and the Alpine Trail E/1/2 given that they're similar designs and made in the same factory (I own an Alpine Trail E2 so I'd love to hear comparisons.)

I’d also like to see this review of the E2 as I’m pretty keen on it. You happy with yours?

Ive always wondered what maintenance, parts and long term life would be like on bikes like this, particularly without a sympathetic local bike shop willing to work on a Polygon. Thoughts on this?

Do you reckon this is a decent first emtb don't really want to spend mental money it's going for 6k rn which is pretty decent for the price ngl.

How would you rank the polygon T7e vs the YT decoy?

Given the overall unsatisfactory fork and shock performance on the T7E would you recommend saving some money and purchasing the Polygon Siskiu T6E then using the saved money to upgrade the suspension? Thanks for your opinion!

Haven't had great experience with buying from bikes online, bought kids Polygon premier 24 frame was scratched, front wheel was out of true and front brake was misaligned, totally put me off spending money on a more expensive bike. Its a shame as Polygon and Marin have some great value bikes. The sub-par suspension would make me steer clear of the siskiu TE though

    What's better t7e 2023 or 2022 merida 160e 700, or 2022 trek rail 5 or 7 all going for similar money atm

    • @FlowMountainBikeYouTube
      @FlowMountainBikeYouTube  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's a great question!
For me personally, I prefer a mullet setup on an e-MTB so I'd likely gravitate towards the Merida eOne-Sixty. It's a really fun bike to ride and I think the geometry strikes a great balance between being stable on high-speed descents, while still being really poppy and agile on flow trails. The spec on the 700 model looks solid too.
The Bosch system on the Trek Rail is pretty appealing though - it's the best full-powered motor out there, and if you're a bigger rider doing steep and long climbs, it'll offer more grunt that the Shimano motor on the Merida and Polygon.
If you prefer a full 29er setup, then obviously the Trek or Polygon are the way to go as that's how they're configured out of the box.
      Hope that helps!

Over 6 grand and is classed as a budget ebike? I've heard people saying this about ebike well over 10 grand. Fact is, most people won't pay more than 2 grand for a ebike

$6500 isnt exactly a bike for a budget conscious rider. Even a budget brand like polygon cannot escape inflation eventually.

Disappointing about the suspension. Ive been reading good things about the higher end suntour suspension. Was hoping they would be really good and wouldnt need replacing...
