Its not exactly a surprise to anyone who knows me, I love my Polygon. While she's heavy and kind of wallows around on the local XC style singletrack, it really comes alive when things start to get rowdy! Just perfect for the Pisgah and Western North Carolina mountain biking! I do have a few complaints and nitpicks to share with you, but overall, I think this is a great bike for your first full suspension mountain bike! Its tough, its capable, and it looks rad.

Rad review man. Best review on this bike. I was looking at it trying to get the best review on it not by bikes online, and so on. But I pre ordered the 2024 T8. After watching your vid bro, I'm stoked I bought it! I'm following now brother. 🤙🏽
Thanks for the kind words. You’re gonna love shredding on the T8!
Thanks for the honest and thorough review! Keep shredding!
Great video! Appreciate the honest, unbiased, review.
Thanks, these are quite fun to make. Definitely a bonus if it helps or entertains too! Preciate the comment. 🙏
Nice review man. Appreciate you posting.
Of course! Glad you liked it.
Thank you for an unsponsored review that was very helpful and informative. I'm looking for my first full sus right now and their price drop makes it hard to overlook. The weight has always been what concerned me most. Good to hear it's still a decent climber.
I've been to rocky knob and those can be some long climbs to the top.
Glad it was helpful! I do really love the bike for the money. I'm confident I'll be putting miles on it for years.
Rocky Knob is an old favorite. Tons of new trails now too.
Nice review, like you, I bought mine at the height of the pandemic at probably the highest price, but no regrets. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. Getting this bike now for two grand is an absolute steal!
Definitely! I’m usually on the cheapest bike in whatever crew I’m riding with (outside the T7s) 😎💰
Great review, I'm looking to get my first full suspension and this review convinced me to get the T8. 🤙🏽🤙🏽
I love mine for the money. So good. Let me know if you have any questions. If you do get a new one, help me out and use my link:

Thanks for the kind words!
Awesome review! Thank you brother!
My pleasure! I hope it was helpful.
Awesome review.
Thanks 🙏
Thank you for this I am about to buy one. It will be my first full suspension bike I just recently got into riding trails and was looking for a bike to grow with me. Hopefully this bike will do the job
I really love mine for the price. They’re running an excellent special right also where you get $200 to spend on gear! Ironically, they set me up with affiliate links, so consider supporting the channel if you’d like: bikesonline-usa.sjv.io/EKONd2
Loved this review I should be watching this before I ordered it ahah but I broke my bike so just ordered this bike and will be my first new real bike I’m stoked !
Thanks! Congrats on the new bike! Here’s hoping for some clear weather so you can get it on the trails! 🤞
Thanks for the Great video I Recently purchased my first full suspension bike, a polygon siskiu T8 med 27.5 in that sic charcoal color and not long after that the pros closet advertised a carbon wheel set , reynolds black label trail wide 247 with i9 hydra hubs for $499 and yes I ordered a set right away.
Thanks! New wheels really makes a surprisingly huge difference on this bike, especially with i9s.
thanks for this review. also love your sunglasses. can you tell me what brand/model are you using?
Thanks! My sunglasses are 100% Centric from SportRx. I love em.
Bought my wife and myself the t8 last month. They are our first full suspension bikes. Love it so far. I believe the 27 small frame is about 30lbs after going tubeless.
It’s a great platform for the money and can hang with some pretty expensive bikes! I really love mine and I beat the heck out of it!
That bar colour looks great, went with a nukeproof horizon bar and saddle with blue accents to match the fox accents . Stacked my bike a month ago, and cracked the dropper post lever, so that got upgraded. Added a rubber frame protector to the bottom bracket after a rock put a dent in down there. Love my T8
That sounds killer! I can’t wait for some warm weather to get back out. Cold is for the birds.
Nice review 🔥in my country where this bike is made.. Indonesia... Polygon is the number one bicycle brand here and they have been developing bicycles for more than 30 years... and the great thing is that the price of used Polygon bicycles has not dropped significantly... it is stable at 10% - 20% and it is rare to find cases of damaged bicycle frames here
I watched the factory tour. It’s impressive how many bikes they push out! I definitely love this thing!
Yeah I really took notice that locals are proud of, and ride, the bike made there.
This is right on the money. I bought mine in 2021, and I love it. Phenomenal value. I replaced the dropper lever right away. Since then, i cracked the rear rim and had to replace it, replaced the saddle, grips and tires. And I added clipless pedals, but thats just personal preference. Otherwise its still all original parts and riding beautifully.
Just got loaded into the new season with the T8 and it’s doing great! Had to do its first brake job and some new wheels. Feels like it’s going to be a great summer of riding!
FYI, upgrades inbound. I got some new wheels and brake upgrades. I’m also considering a fork upgrade! Be on the lookout for that video 😁
I’ve had both the T7 and now the T8. Really like them both, and agree with you about the weight. I love the T8 and how much of a solid base it is. I’ll upgrade things over time. First thing to go will be the rims!
I’d love to upgrade wheels. If I ever figure out this jumping thing, it’s high on the list. I really should have mentioned the low engagement hub in the review, but it’s be nice to have something better all around. I was looking at Nobl. What wheels are you liking?
I really want the Nobl TR35 with Hydra hubs. You can get a discount code for 10% off with a couple other TH-camrs channel. Lifetime warranty, and crazy engagement. Speedvison has an aluminum set with Hydra hubs that are about $400 less and weigh the same. Not sure if a warranty with them.
@@bellarogers7202 out of necessity (broke the rear at rock creek), I found an awesome but budget upgrade. I’d love some Nobl wheels someday though. Phill has me sold on those for sure!
Nice review, I have the same lever on another bike and do not have that slop issue. It looks like you have too much cable/tension play. Now I have recently upgraded IMO to one up droppers. I love how the cable knob just slips onto the actuator lever on the bottom of the post. Instead of fiddling with that barrel lock with tiny Allen keys have to make your tension adjustment inside the seat tube.
I like how the open end of the cable to the lever clamps down like your derailleur. Also no more weak sealed internal cartridges that fade you can set air pressure like on your shocks.
Love that bike it’s tall stack look because they did not chop the steer tube like on a specialized etc.
I manage to get it to respond again by pulling some slack out. It still doesn’t feel the best, but works. I put a couple of levers on the Christmas list anyway though. 🎄
Nah it’s genuinely just a terrible lever I promise. They feel just awful.
Great review - so thank you! I am trying to decide on a bike. Haven’t ridden for 5 years and said 2024 was the year I get back at it! I have been trying to cheap out. Almost buying the polygon D7. Then started looking at other bikes and now the T8. You mentioned weight. At my price point most are 31-34#. I ruled out the t7 for that reason. Do you ride tubeless? I don’t plan on doing a lot of really technical riding. I just want a bike that doesn’t bob when climbing, and is fairly neutral geometry- not overly stretched or geared for downhill speed. Some have told me the components on the d7 are good enough. But I have learned never to short change myself. I just don’t want a pig of a bike. I am not a big guy. Even on the fence between 27.5 and 29 as I am 5’7 and between sizes with my 29” inseam.
I really love the bike. If you live to climb and love the cardio, maybe a more XC oriented trail bike would be better, but I think this thing is quite capable.
I’m 6’3” and went with the XL, but after riding a L T7 a bit, I think I could have gone either way. The larger XL definitely gives me more confidence when it gets steeper. If you think you’ll get into jumping though, the smaller bike might be more fun.
Good luck. Reach out if you have more questions. Sorry I missed it up until now.
Nice review, where did you bought the decals and pedals, are OneUp??
Thanks 🙏! I got those specific Fox decals from Competitive Cyclist and the pedals are Crank Brothers Stamp 7 Alloys, which I’ve bashed pretty hard, and they’ve held up great!
bikesonline-usa.sjv.io/EKONd2
Bikes Online is running a special on this bike. $1799 for the bike and they give you $200 to spend on gear too! Don’t hesitate, it’s definitely the one for you 😊
I had my T8 for a year. Within a couple of weeks nipples came off a couple of spokes on the front wheel - BikesOnLine paid to get it fixed. A few weeks later another one came off and I bought new nipples and fitted it myself. At about 6 months the LH crank came off the spindle - I put it back and super torqued the retaining screws and had no more problems with it. At about 6 months I noticed that my rear wheel brake made horrible noises - eventually I worked out that the wheel axle spacer on the brake side needed to be adjusted. And around that time I found that if I pushed the bike backwards the chain would change gears on the cassette - I just left it. I sold the bike after a year - I was starting to ride really rough trails and wanted more suspension.
Curiously, what’d you go with next? I definitely think if gnarlier enduro style or Dh trails are you’re favorite style (they’re mine), something burlier might be the way! I’m gonna keep pushing and upgrading this thing for a while, but I can definitely see adding something beefier to the mix as I progress.
get a E*thirteen Vario dropper lever They are cheap and by far my favorite I've had on my past 5 bikes. This T8 was on my radar started looking at a YT Izzo 130F/130R I'm getting into rocky punchy climbs and not just trail riding. Canyon Neuron CF 6 got my attention too as it's a bit cheaper. I've owned a polygon Vander N9. But I don't think the T8 will be the climber I'm looking for. thanks for putting your review out there!
Good tip, I’ll take a look. And yeah, the T8 is pretty good at rowdier climbs, but I’d bet something like the Izzo would be a better fit if that’s your jam. Thanks for the kind words and thoughts! 👍🏻💪🏻🤙🏻😁
I got this bike during the pandemic as well and made a video about it. Not sponsored and am a horrible rider lol. Great bike over 1k miles so far.
Right on!
Excellent review! 👊👍Ridin hard and put away wet most of the time... 🤣
I definitely should take better care of it sometimes! I’m glad it handles it so well.
Like most of the responses, I also have a T8. I also got it in 2021 and paid all the money for it. I really truly do not take care of my bike. I ride in Phoenix AZ area. I run wax on the chain and Slime in the tubeless tires. I check my tires once every few months, wash it and wax the chain twice a year or so. I say this because it is possible I am to cause for some of the issues I have had. My rear suspension bearings locked up. Polygon offered to warranty them, but I had to take it to a bike shop.. I just bought a new set on Amazon for 20$ or so and pressed then in myself. I did the front fork lower leg service after about a 1000 miles of hard riding.... wow....what a difference. I found the brakes got hot and slipped pretty quick, I switched to Hard headed ram pads (first set was green, second set was blue) and upgraded the front rotor to 200mm, huge difference.
On the first few weeks I switched to a Wolf tooth dropper lever, Bontrager seat, Evil bar and stem, Oval chainring (don't waste you money on this), and a few other odds and ends.
1500 very hard miles later, I still love the bike. I have no real complaints about it. I can out climb just about anybody (in very short bursts until my lungs give up). It is much more capable going down hill then I am.
You sound a lot like me. It really is killer. I feel like I can rarely blame a problem on the bike itself (aside from the dropper lever). I’ve got some new wheels on the way, and I’m upgrading the brakes similarly to what you did. I’m excited to see how the bike feels after that. Probably time to service the suspension too.
@@SlowpokeShred I forgot I did also break a spoke last year. I have never really considered replacing the wheels. I looked a few times, but most of the hyped up wheel sets cost half of what my bike cost. Would love to see a review of whatever you choose.
@@cataplt same. I pulled a spoke right through the rim somehow. I was considering a few budget options but found a really cool deal locally. I’ll post a short.
I’m thinking you go with an overforked 150mm Fox 36 and a Float X out back for the upgrade - it’ll get you down to 64.5 on the head angle and only down to 76.3 or so which will still be great for climbing but you’ll add travel and clearance for avoiding pedal strikes even better - if you wanna go all mtn/enduro with it as the hits get bigger
I’m seriously considering a Fox 36 or RockShox Lyric this winter. Seems like it’s be perfect for Western NC!
I got the Canyon Neuron AL 6 for $2050 new and it is slightly better for the extra $50 but it isn't always that price so I think the Polygon is the king on paper at this price.
Canyon definitely has some nice bang for buck deals. Their bikes usually look killer too. Nice buy!
It’s a great bike. I upgraded many parts over the first year. Started with tokens in the fork and shock.
Mine now has completely new Shimano brakes, larger 203mm discs, pedals, Maxxis rubber, new wider saddle, grips. (I threw that dropper remote in the garbage before I ever rode it😂)
I also bought that exact bar too! That only lasted 6mths then upgraded to OneUp carbon bars. Those RaceFace ones although rad lookin, were way too stiff for me. Got super sore hands / wrists.
Hell I even paint stripped mine and powdercoated it. It looks rad.
My BIGGEST thing was the cassette. I honestly think that Sunrace cassette is garbage. I wore gears 1-5 completely in 6 mths.
I really like the bike though. Heaps of fun.
I hate to hear that on the Sunrace cassette. My Shimano feels indestructible! At least it’s an excuse to upgrade.
@@SlowpokeShred Absolutely! I have the Shimano cassette now. 👍🏼👍🏼
T9 should be here on Monday....I'll let you know.
Killer! I love the component choices they’ve made for it overall.
The new T8s come with a sun race rear cassette. I got mine last month. It's been good.
The SLX cassette has been great. I really hope those Sunrace ones are just as reliable. Definitely let us know how it works out! Happy trails. 🤙
Yeah mine came with the Sunrace and it was unfortunately garbage. Wore out the high gears in 6mths unfortunately
I have this bike, it’s awesome. It’s my first “big boy” bike. It climbed great and eats hard trails with ease. The only downside I don’t like is the tires suck for speed on pavement (yes, I know it’s a mountain bike but this means it’s not a great do it all bike with them on). I’m going to get some less aggressive tires. Still a wonderful bike.
Which tires did yours come with? Mine came with the VeeTire ones and they were super duper slow. I definitely prefer the minions on it now in 2.5/2.4
I just assembled my xl t8 this morning. I wanted to get it assembled & weighed stock so I will know how much weight I knocked off. On my scales it kept bouncing between 36.0 & 36.2. Now I’ll go tubeless & add carbon handlebars.
Killer! I will say, tubeless and wheels made the biggest difference for me. Let me know what you think once you get it on the trail.
"Unconscious Bias" - brilliant.
There is always a bit of that 😅
@SlowpokeShred Thanks bro, still watching and loving it. I am an old dude now and used to ride fancy bikes (spent without thinking) Now, I am the anti-expensive bike buyer. I have a Merida for gravel and thinking of this bike.
Got a sub from me.
@@Ariautoace thanks my friend. I can definitely relate.
With that price you can easily fit get a few nice upgrade parts and still be cheaper that most other bikes in that range
For sure! If you know you’re going to upgrade, I think the T7 is an amazing bargain.
I like the pedal, where did you purchase it? thanks
I got those from Competitive Cyclist a few years back. Crank Brothers Stamp. I’ll see if I can find a link for you.
son have a Polygon D7. They use very cheap bearings for their linkage. Squeaking a lot already after 6 months and got them replaced with higher quality branded bearings. Yeah! enduro bearings are good too.
I’ve always been intrigued by the D7. Related, I really should give my bearings a good checkup… it’s been more than a while. Glad to hear yours in running well again though.
What pedals are those they look sick!
Thanks! These are crank brothers stamp 7 oil slick ones. I got a killer deal on them a couple of Black Fridays ago.
At 5:36 is that pilot rock?
Heartbreak Ridge in Pisgah.
I wonder if there's ever a question of reliability when it's a polygon. As we say, Polygons are built like tanks. But maybe we're also a bit biased because we made friends with the people at the Polygon shops lol.
Btw, how's the pedal bob? Kinda want to know what they've done witht he newer Siskius, I have an older D7 and man that thing has 0 antisquat and antirise which was crazy considering back then there wasn't a Siskiu T series and there were the Collosus T6 and T8. I have the Collosus T8 which has virtually no pedal bob and only has noticeable brake dive if you really jam the brakes while standing. But that one is definitely not a budget bike lol, its price when new would've been twice the Siskiu T8.
It really is a tank. I might be a bit bias, but we have quite a few in my circle of family and friends and they’ve endured.
For pedal bob, I’ve ridden this bike so long now, I’d really need to spend some time on something else to give it a fair comparison. With that said, it feels very average on climbing efficiency and pedal bob. It doesn’t stand out positively (like the Ripmo I’ve ridden), but I also never really notice it. I never lock out the rear shock, but I do flip it to the middle “trail” setting often.
Love my t8. Only downside are the rims, they're just so weak. I've had to upgrade them because of all the dents and the constant truing every big ride was so frustrating 😅
I didn’t have issues until I started doing laps at the Dh park. I chalked it up to my riding mostly, but since swapping them out, I’ve not had another issue with the wheels.
Recently dented one of my rims. What rims did you go with?
@DOUBLE0SEVUN i bought a raceface turbine r30 wheelset, really like them and they're a good price too
What is the bar width of your atlas handle bar? Do you use the default width ?
I tried stock for a while but have settled on 780mm as perfect for me. I still snag a tree from time to time if I’m not paying attention 🥲
What size is this a Medium 29 or a Large? Also how tall are you?
Extra Large. I’m 6ft 3in (190cm) with a long reach.
Kitty!!!
If you coule re buy would you get something else? What would be better to climb with for same money?
I’ve discovered I love chunky down hills the most, so I’d strongly consider something burlier. Polygon just released the Colossus N7 which seems like a “working man’s” enduro rig. That’s high on my list!
bikesonline-usa.sjv.io/VmR7gj
Appreciate the quick response! Nice review too. Thank you
Where can I get those Fox 34 decals?
I got these from competitive cyclist. There are a couple of companies out there that make them though.
Ok thanks for info I checked and they are all out of that colorway. Found some other sites but none have the same color in the rear suspension 😩
I just bought a slightly used T8 for $800. Should I consider myself lucky?
Holy smokes! That’s a screaming deal. Congrats!
@@SlowpokeShred Thanks! Can't wait to test it on some trails.
@@kstsn I’ve put so many miles on mine. It’s been really good to me. I’d buy it again in a heartbeat! Have fun and shred on! 🤘🏻
The only thing I don’t like about it is the rainbow logo on the bottom it kind of ruins the vibe
Definitely a wild look. I’ve always had low key bikes and colors. This one has grown on me though! (As you can tell, I double downed on the “oil spill”)
I've been looking at one of these to replace my Stumpjumper. Having seen one "in the flesh" I love the rainbow.
it’s iconic T8 flare! ❤
I think it's absolutely stunning
It looks like a n oil slick color
What do I think of the Polygon.... Is that gray in your beard ? 😂🤣😅. Great Bike. he he
🧂 🌶️ Just a little salt and pepper showing up to highlight how well seasoned I am 😎
