When I adjust my H/K system, I usually put the bass all the way up so that I can hear more of the low end and I usually put the treble a little bit less because when the volume is a bit higher it has a really high frequency. I use the equalizer as well because it fine tunes the tone, such as you can adjust more of the bass, mid, and treble. When adjusting the equalizer, I put more of the bass, more of the mid but not higher than the bass, and less of the treble. I also put a little more of the sound coming through the rear speakers

In general, it is a sound perception that everyone likes or what their hearing is like. I am a sound engineer and work with very high-quality and great equipment. When I listen to the Harman in the factory settings, one thing bothers me enormously. The Logic 7 plug-in falsifies a really good sound mix enormously, no matter what the sound guys from Harman Kardon measured and set here. The sound recording would also have to be in surround, not to mention that the Harman Kardon is not a real THX surround sound system, and neither is the Bowers & Wilkins. These are just EQ and panning presets. In the BMW G31 iDrive 6, the treble needs to be raised by 4 clicks, the bass by 3 clicks, then lower one click in the equalizer setting at 500Hz, and raise one click at 5Khz and 10Khz. Finally, set the front and rear panorama setting 2 clicks forward, that's how the Harman sounds best to me. Already mentioned, the Logic7 switches off. I don't know how the iDrive 7 Harman setting sounds. But with some of the settings presented here on YT, I can only shake my head, sorry guys. It is clear that with some settings the pressure of the system is increased or better perceived. But if you listen to many genres of music, one or the other will probably have to suffer. All the best out there & best regards

It depends on which model. For BMW they have two models. The standard has 10 speakers. On the Premium package there are 16. I would high recommend the premium especially with the X 5 and above.

Not sure why you would adjust sound to the back of the vehicle. When you go to a concert, you don't turn your back to the stage. But, as you noted, it is personal preference.

I do it in my car so I can actually hear the rear speakers. Because in the front seat, you are closer to the front speakers, so you don't hear the rear. By shifting to the rear, you compensate for that distance by decreasing the volume of the fronts. I find it makes it a more immersive experience as a result. The Logic 7 Surround does the same thing though, so I either adjust to the rear or have the logic 7 on. Not both.

Totally agree, surround sound is nice for when you listen to the radio at lower volumes. But if you are listening at high volumes you really want that large image up front

These types of audio sound systems are designed for the car interiors by the audio manufacturers. Complex amplifier settings are fine tuned using OEM software to all the speakers and interior acoustics of the vehicles.
People need to understand these audio systems are OEM and any after market audio components will not work in Conjunction with these systems and setups.

@@S55M31. you shouldn't turn up the trebble... it will get harsh. quality of tweeters is not really good for too much highs. 2. turning on the logic function makes a bad frequenzy response. too much hall from all speakers. acoustic is tricky allready in car. 3. bringing the sound to the n
back is not what is happining by adjusting it like the dude in the video. he is just making the front quiet... in fact the subs go low, too. 4. the h&k is set very soft in standard with the bass. you need to bring it up to 90%. at the end... everything he said is the opposite from what you really should do😂

100%.. i have an H/K system on my MK8 GTI and i find the EQ and filters that they have, horrible. I ended up putting it on "Pure", subwoofer on max and doing all the EQ with Poweramp on my phone
