I've been using Sakura oil filters (c-1019) for over 6 years now and have never had an issue or cause for concern regarding quality. The ryco equivalent oil filter (z313) costs 3x to 4x the price of the Sakura so I won't be changing brand anytime soon.

That Sakura is $13 here in NZ where the Ryco is $24 and the Ryco ST is $35.

It's funny since a lot Fleetguard is made by Sakura in Indonesia!

Check up the stats on Sakura filters, they are the OEM manufacturer for many of the car companies

G'day mate, thanks for you comment. Sakura is indeed a OEM supplier. I haven't said that it is a bad filter but just maybe there are better options on the market.
Just a side note that may not necessarily apply to sakura: Just because a company are a OEM supplier doesn't automatically mean they are the best of the best. There are plenty of OEM end products that I would not buy! I'm sure you would feel the same way. It's also good to remember that Fram is an OEM supplier and they supply their orange can of death to some American OEM`s, and there would hardly be a person out there that when presented with the facts on a fram orange would think that they are the best of the best.

Completely agree, my comment was more to point out to others that sometimes you're paying a lot more just for the brand name.
I always used Ryco filters until I figured out that Sakura are perfectly fine and even Westfil for when it's something that is super obscure. Hell even even Cooper's and Mann aren't too bad either.
K&N you're basically paying for the name if you're just buying OEM replacement type of stuff.

Yeah that's right, ryco and k&n tend to be terribly overpriced for what they are. When another of other manufacturers sell the exact same thing for half that

@@departmentoffiltration6021 Dang! I have just bought Fram TG4967. Why it is called the orange can of death? Also, my one is actually black.

It seems Sakura is an Indonesian company 'pretending' to be Japanese, which is kind of strange. I wonder why the Japanese writing and not Bahasa Indonesia on the can? 🤔🙂 I take it Sakura supply OEM oil filters for cars manufactured in Indonesia? 🙂

Intresting video when all that you are looking for is negative about the sakura filters. We sell 10 of thousands of Sakura filters per year and they are top quality. It is funny to me that you concentrate mostly on the media instead of testing the thread wobble which gives more problems than filter media.

I've fitted hundreds of these, definitely not top quality bud. Bot the worst but far from great. We have had more troubles with these than others we have stocked over the years

@yamfingaz5598 I used a Sakura cartridge filter the other day to replace the old filter, which was Acdelco. They looked identical, and I did some research, and found some Acdelco filters are made by Sakura. The filter itself looked excellent, including the media.
