Just got my pixel 7 pro yesterday and I love it. I've been struggling to get out of the apple eco system for years but I think I can stick with the 7pro. Hopefully it continues to be stable in the coming months.
@@xsky134 my biggest thing getting away from Apple is having my family download what's app and duo to replace facetime and iMessage. Other than that, it's going well.
I love how thoughtfully you have planned your videos. You can tell that you put a lot of work into it. Especially how you upload every day a new video but with constant setup I find good. So you can also compare different phones from different videos well. I love it
I deeply love those detailed comparisons. I'm absolutelly no camera guy but your video makes a camera comparison interesting for the very first time. What I like so much as well, that you even assigned the audio channels. It is striking how much better the audio sounds on the Pixel 7, though I like the video image quality of the iPhone more.
I'm a new Pixel 7 pro owner. My main takeaway is that both are very capable for photo and video. It's amazing what capability we can enjoy in our pocket nowadays. With older Pixel phones, I felt that Pixel lagged behind iPhone video too much. The iPhone cinematic mode is much better than Pixel and the flexibility to change f stop before and after just like they've offered with portrait mode is great. It's something that I'd consider using, whereas the Pixel's is too artificial. The iPhone consistently had smooth transitions between lenses, whereas the Pixel sometimes had more of a step-step-step look when changing between lenses/zoom. Hopefully Google can address that. Because the Pixel sometimes tries so hard to get that HDR look, sometimes it makes dark areas too noisy rather than just keeping some darkness. 2:32 I wonder why the iPhone's audio was surprising poor compared to the Pixel in this set 3:17 I greatly preferred the iPhone's detail at 2x (and 3x) compared to the Pixel 7 pro
If Google could figure out how to reduce the noise in their video it would be the best video camera on a smartphone. I don’t get how there’s so much noise in broad daylight
p7pro has improved the video a lot but still not as good as the iPhone yet, but its getting a lot closer. It feels like pixel 7 pro can get very close to iPhone level video quality by just sharpening the video a bit.
A very nice representative video. I've been using Pixel 3 for almost 3 years, and it's been great. Pixel7Pro really made me considering to make an upgrade. Love your presentation and just subscribed your channel.
I'm a little disappointed that even with some daylight, the pixel crank up the ISO on the video and introduced noise, whereas the iPhone looked totally clean
Audio microphone quality on Pixel seemed way ahead of the Iphone, so did the selfie camera I think, Iphone looked synthetic with colours and too bright around the face. Stabilisation on Iphone rear facing camera was much better for video.
Very nice video. Friendly advice (applicable for all reviewers): try to include photos of kids/pets/moving objects. Many phones take great pictures of stable scenery, but when it comes to moving objects or especially kids, many flagship phones struggle.
One more absolutely amazing video from you! I'm honestly torn between them. I'd probably choose the Pixel for pictures and the iPhone for videos as always
What you said about being able to change the amount and position of blur of cinematic mode changed my mind about apples implementation, turning it way back makes a big difference. Subtlety is the key here, for me. Good work man👊🏽
*Pixel 7 pro and S22 ultra already take the best photos* but what's surprising is that Pixel 7 pro has superior dynamic range even in selfie videos than the iphone 14 pro max. *On top of that, Pixel allows you to switch to any rear lens in 4k60fps is a cherry on top.* I mean, pixel closing the gap so fast in terms of videos should ring Alarm bells for Apple. Cheers!
I forgot to ask, did you shoot the video on the Pixel 7 Pro before or after the firmware update? Other videos I've seen the Pixel 7 Pro looks much crisper. Also, the background blur on my Pixel 7 Pro looks a lot better during cinematic mode.
@@real_name_hidden3538 i own the pixel 7 pro an i am also a little confused how the detail is simply gone on the pixel 7 pro. it's not the case for my experience. maybe a smuged lens?
I feel what Google needs to do is add more user controls over image processing in their camera app so that the image processing can be dialed down when it is needed. Sometimes the image processing is too aggressive. Particularly in regards to MPEG compression in video as some of the grass within the video clips became muddy. Google seemed to have nailed still photography but they have a lot of room to improve with video.

I know this is crazy but I promise you everything aside from video and Camera looks better on the pixel 3 then on the pixel 7. Reason why is because the pixel 7 is forced into this mode that you can't change because they took all of the settings away so the colors look faded it's forced in HDR at all times and it causes issues
Great video man. Pixel Photos and iPhone videos. I hope Apple fix the HDR problem they been having for years, and I hope Google continue to work on video, that noise has got to go.
Did you record any of the video on the Google Pixel 7 Pro using the HDR 10 Bit mode / feature? If not: You should at least consider presenting some video footage captured in the 4K HDR video mode of the Google Pixel 7 Pro..!
Do camera lens protectors degrade imagine quality? Im waiting for one with the cutouts around the lenses, more for shock absorption then worried about scratching. Full tempered glass on it now but I can't believe that some cheap glass off Amazon is anywhere near the quality of glass on the phone itself and have to think it will slightly reduce image quality? A lot of details in the iPhone photos than the pixel. In fact in cinematic mode the subject itself is blurred on the pixel while the iPhone keeps the subject pure from the background

If I'm not mistaken, to be able to switch between the different focal lengths in 4k60 on iPhones and Galaxy, you have to start shooting in ultra wide angle. And it's true that iPhones in point and shoot or in 4k60 video selfie don't have the best HDR, but in truth you just have to touch the screen to have HDR as good or even better than on Pixels and Galaxy .
After seeing both the iPhone and s22 comparison, it's clear as day that Google's flagship is not there yet. I give s22 ultra the trophy as it trumped both the 14 pro and 7 pro. 7 just isn't there clarity and depth wise. The image stabilization isn't there either. The difference between the 14 and the s22 is the depth on the s22. 7 is not on that level. I am looking to shoot my first movie and the s22 ultra seems to be the best one for the job for me. Great detail in your reviews bro. This is the way every phone review should be done. I now declare your method the standard phone comparison. 🙏🙏🙏
Video is a beast on the 14 pro compared to the pixel 7 pro but fair play to pixel for stepping up there game from the 6 pro. Stabilisation is king on iPhone. Photos go back and forth between the 2. My thoughts ?? Here in Malaysia .. the Pricing is quite aggressive on the iPhone , 899 USD VS 1359 USD ?? With just a slight better video recording does not justify the price on the iPhone .. while google had a better front facing camera , better image quality on all lens .. its a no brainer.. and I don't really like how contrasty and dark the iphone looks on night mode

7 pro is better in front facing vedio
In selfie video, Pixel easily wins in dynamic range, but I prefer the subject, so it is down to whether you care about the sky or about how you look, at least for me. But Apple needs to fix the HDR.
Bro hold the pixel still 💀 how am I supposed to tell the quality if you don't let it focus like the iPhone
This is legit the dumbest comment ever lol
