    In Germany you have to use safety ropes on ALL type of fixtures. They even have to be officially tested. Furthermore you can't put moving lights on tripods. You have to use at least four-legged stands

    Why don't you lower the goal post first to save stretching once the movers are on wired up tested and everything is working then send the goal post up to its correct height. By the way the DMX cable you have to connect the heads together you need to use a longer one or purchase one as eventually you could get a DMX glitch in the signal owing to the tightness of the connection stretching the cable.

    so it is safe to move the heads without causing any damage to the mechanisms and programming as long as they are off.

    Don't use zip ties to hold down cables, get yourself a roll of black/ grey lekkie. saves you so much time at the end of your show, just rip it off your truss

    • @DJDrawgZ
      @DJDrawgZ  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      does it leave residue

      @b.t.eproductions2545 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It doesn't leave residue for short periods of time. You'd find that all the big touring shows uses roll and rolls of electrical tape and gaffa tape

      Exactly....totem mode will work just as well if you hang them....just limits the pan tilt to a forward direction

    Chauvet 355's programmed well are a great fitting. The advice a lot of people are trying to tell you is that (1) it appears running the dmx cable was a waste of time as the lights are not in any kind of synchronized show..... not even remotely close to it! (2) If you are not going to program them with a dmx controller you can use them in totem pole mode to keep all of the lights forward of the DJ booth or on one side of the lighting bar.... (preferably on the side of the room that dance floor is on at a real gig! ) (3) It would also be a good idea to learn how to edit the crappy parts out of your video PRIOR to posting it for the world to see. TMOA

    • @BrandonLe621
      @BrandonLe621 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A dmx cable is sometimes used to master slave your fixtures

    • @nickloss2377
      @nickloss2377 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BrandonLe621 wow. I see someone missed the point of that comment. the point he was making was that plugging in a DMX cable to make one the master and the other the slave was not necessary because the lights we're not actually making use of the Master slave connection. it looks like they were both either in independent sound active mode or playing back different pre programmed macros that come with the fixtures... that was the point of the comment...
      but I think this guy was just testing out a Christmas present (and bossing around his brother).. so it makes sense to plug in the DMX cables to make sure they were communicating when testing them out
