As someone who’s running lights at my church and kinda got the hang of it, this video is PERFECT! Was struggling with making different lights do different things with the Scanner buttons, but you solved it right away!
I'm still confusing with addressing the dmx. i was connected moving head with par led and when I i move every slider, the color is not correct and sometimes interchange each others. i dont know to explain well. thanks
Because each scanner is 16 channels/ sliders. That’s why its 1, 17, 33…. Etc. If you put it as d2 that is telling the board that sliders 2-16 will control that light on scanner 1
@@JeremyThompson great answer as i had the same question i took over for a cover band and every light had a different number and no one in the band knew what the numbers meant the previous light guy had every light on 2 scanners and no saved scenes and he did the job for 5 years thanks to you i saved 160 scenes

I watched this video on how the dmx 512 works and I thought I had it figured out but I can only do red, green, and blue lights and I can't make the lights strobe or flash or anything. The first slider is supposed to be the brightness, but for me, it's the color red and the more I move it up the more brighter red gets.
When I set up the DMX address on the back of the mini PAR light, the "d" blinks rapidly next to the 3-digit address. And the PAR light doesn't respond to the control board. Why is it doing that? If I set the DMX address on the PAR light, do I need to do any of the other settings on the light -- or can I just take care of that on the board?
Thank you for this. I set up just as you demonstrated. In scanner 1, fader 1 is not controlling brightness. Instead it's bringing up Red, #2 is Green, and # 3 is Blue, As opposed to 2, 3, & 4 representing R G B respectively. Not sure what's going on. Thanks for your help
Got a milllion of questions but my first one is like. How do I set up the light itself to make it interact with the controller? Maybe that should be the very first to do? Also my displays are not flashing, they are just solid.Does it matter?
Each light should be chained with DMX Cables/3-pin microphone cables. Then the light should be set up in d mode also known as dmx. The displays flashing on mine it is just the frame rate of the video camera I was using the displays should be solid with a flashing dot to show that it is connected to a dmx board.

Check the lights manual. Different lights have different channels for each effect. Thanks for watching.
It sounds like you’re in 4 channel mode Like he said look at your manual and switch your lights channel mode to five
