My dad never stayed, he wasn't the man he should have been, but that's okay because I'm learnin'. I'm learnin' to change my own tires, I'm learnin' how to jump a car, I'm learnin' to change my oil and check the brake pads, I'm even figuring out what love's supposed to be. So, I'm learnin' and that's all I could have ever hoped for.

I have no remembrance of my dad living with us. I learned and always loved my dad. Very grateful for him in my life. Any other issues will be dealt with. Just like us all.

Dad is still around… Ended up getting a 84 square body Chevy k10. Took the truck apart and there was countless hours at the shop putting it back together. Nothing better than spending time with my best friend and doing what we love. That truck has a new meaning to it. People see it as a beater I see it as my everything. Nothing beats that memory of him an i in the shop restoring it.

Lost my Dad in May, 2019. Not a day has passed where something doesn't bring him to my mind. He was retired USAF, had damage from Vietnam (agent orange exposure) . It caused weird skin conditions and pain. He died from lung cancer. Never complained about pain. He fell and wasn't breathing. No pulse. I did cpr while my mom called 911. I question everyday if i did something wrong, but as a former emt and er nurse i know i did all i could. Still hurts. I only hope I've made him proud of the man I've grown to become.

Papaw had a Nova... I remember being 14 and he tossed me the keys...said "girl you drive I buy" we went for ice cream... I'll never forget.

My dad has a 83 or 84 but its his dads truck and on weekends we fix everything and one day we got it going and drove it to his dads house and my grandpa let me drive it
My pappy had a Ford and let me climb up on his lap at the age of 12 and said u drive down the alley and park it .... So I did. I miss our memories. I miss him.. lost him from cancer when I was 15. Sure do miss our drives talks everything.
My first car was ss monte carlo that my dad gave me and I still have it and drive it every chance I get. It was the last vehicle we worked on before he passed away and we took a joy ride and I remember looking over at him smiling and that moment is burned into my mind every time I get in that car.
My dad always worked out in his shop and wore plaid shirts, and wouldn't let me touch his tools... he died of cancer 2 years ago 😢 This song just came outta nowhere and made me have to stop working and fight back tears

My father passed away when I was about 9-10 in 2016 and he wasn’t a good father for all my other siblings but I loved being by his side everywhere he went me and him were sidekicks and then in 2018 my uncle passed away and that was sad because him and my dad were really good buddy’s now here I am 15

My grandpa always had a silverado yukon or Sierra when he got older I use to take him to doctor appointments because he couldn't hardly get around or see but their were alot of those kinds of drives also taught me how to drive a stick
My Dad bought a 57 Chevy pickup when I was 7. We got it running and he taught me how to drive it when I was 10. Greatest memories ever!!!!!!!!! That truck is still in our family.

Lost my dad when I was 7. They were the best 7 years of my life. He had a white 85 c10. He came home one day from work and told my mom that he was out of gas. So I wanted to help my hero out. I went outside and grabbed the water hose and filled the tank. I ran inside and told daddy that I filled his truck up. He went outside and seen the water hose hanging out of the gas tank. And he couldn't quit laughing. Thats one of the best memories I have with my dad. I wish everyday he was here with me through the ups and downs but I know he's with me in spirit he shows me that alot. If your dad is still alive tell him you love him and hug his neck. Because great dads are a once in a lifetime thing.

My dad handed me the keys to a 1969 Chevy caprice 4 door when I was 13 he and me are still working in her she sat for 8 years and that car has a lot of father and son memories.. he then gave me the keys to a 94 f150 there’s memory’s of me and my dad… shortly after my dads friend passed away and he always loved those f150s.. this song hit home because my dads friend was like a father to me miss him every day I drive that truck I swear I can hear him talking to me in that passenger seat 😢 some times when I drive my dads 65 ford galaxie I end up crying even though my father is not dead.. it got to be my dads friend that gets me to cry

Im a Chevy truck girl and I have a 1985 Chevy. Im 17 and this truck is my baby because my dad and i fixed her up and got her runnin' before he left. This song hit me hard because dad always told me never to touch his tools, now i use them to fix up Ol' Blue .I drive her everyday down the same road pa and i used to drive it on. Its got a 8 inch lift, brand new tires.

Lost my mom to cancer almost 9 years ago I was 10 years old when she passed listening to the song about driving and having so many memories. It brings back the days when I was with her and she was still here on earth with me sadly the last 8 almost 9 years have been painful I lost her I lost my dogs then at 17 I watched two buddies pull the trigger on themselves still stays with me to this day

My boyfriends grandpa left him the 85 chevy he bought new he learnt to drive in that old truck second to our children I think that truck is his most prized possession. His grandpa has been gone 3 years as of this month and you can tell it still kills him

I bought my first pick-up from my Dad. Haven't driven anything but a Chevy since. Dad just passed a month ago. With all the BS with social distancing going on, the last time I actually got to spend time face to face with him was in my Silverado back I'm November. The best this is my son is getting Grandpa's 98 Silverado.

I just want to say I appreciate your song even though I grew up first driving with my father inside a Nissan 200SX 1984 and I still have it and it just makes me think of when he was teaching me how to drive my 5-speed for the first time you bring tears to my eyes every time I hear this song thank you for reminding me who I am

My Dad was a ford man but a dad. he made a lot of mistakes in his life but was a good dad. Taught me a lot how to be a man by being one. He went to be with my mom in 2004 and I find myself starting to call him and then reality hits. Man for those who still have your dad here go every day and let him know how much you love him. Spent as much time you can with him. I'm 54 and still need my dad. There's no one who will tell you the truth like your Mom and Dad I don't care what any one will say.

My grandfather passed away in July this year and he taught me how to drive his Chevy 3/4 ton for my drivers license test and he handed me keys and said let’s go, and I’ll never forget his face when I said I passed my test. He was so proud of me for passing my drivers license test he took me out that night to celebrate that’s a memory that I will never forget

My Dad passed away February 16th of 2020 just a month shy of his 80th birthday. He had a 1970 Chevy stepside C-10 and I still remember the day he taught me how to drive it. It was a 3 on a tree and I felt like a king sitting in the driver's seat. This song reminds me so much of my Dad. He was always in his shop cleaning it and he waxed it every Saturday so we could take it out on Sunday. He worked his ass off to provide for us. I had the utmost respect for him and so did everybody that knew him. He'd give you his last dime and the shirt off his back and never asked for anything in return. He was and always will be my world and my hero. I love you Daddy and hope I've made you proud. 😭💔

My first truck happened to be a f-100 but me and my daddy built it from the ground up was a standard to it was mine and i loved it but times got rough and daddy sold my truck i was 14 then im 28 now i listen to this song and think back on it i love my daddy and i miss him so much

Such a beautiful song man makes me think about my little brother he passed away two years ago and he has kids that he's left behind they're really young 16 and 13 now. He may not have had a whole lot of time with them. But I know that the time if they did have together they made some beautiful memories. And it's also kind of personal for me because I'm just now learning how to drive and my dad is the one teaching me how to drive. So I guess I am blessed. Beyond all understanding.

This is probably one of the best songs I've heard in a long. My dad had a Chevy S10 it wasn't nothing nothing special just a small single cab. Unfortunately he decided to get himself locked up so I never had this opportunity. But I promise you my kids will. I’m half way done with my 77 Chevy C10 restoration that I bought at 15 for $400 out of a cow pasture. In 22 now and We are half way done, can’t wait for the day that we fire it up and go for a ride.

My dad passed away when I was 13yrs old so I didn’t get to experience all this with him I really wish I could’ve. Now my oldest son is 13yrs old and over the summer I gave him the keys and we hopped in the Chevy and he took me for a ride I’m soo thankful I got to experience this with my son and I know if my dad could’ve been there he would’ve I miss that old guy every day

My dad had all kinds of these chevy from 71-87 I grew up around them. He passed away 3 yrs ago from cancer. I got his 1977 chevy 2wd. I'll never get rid of it. Does seem like he is always with me when I drive it. He was definitely old school cool.

My dad passed away June 10th 2018 now I can't say I have rebuilt a pickup but a 379 peterbilt with me and dad in it, sure does make a difference. I'm currently trying to get his old flat top and rebuild the motor in it. Me and my used to work on his trucks constantly. I'm 16 and could rebuild one from the axles up to the tip of the stacks. I sure do miss him so much. Great song man!

My dad was a police officer, he had a 1997 Chevy 454 big block and he changed it to a dually. Well he past away when I was 13 (15 now) and I remember always fixing up that truck. I was hoping to be able to drive it when I turn 16 but from the looks of it I won’t be able to. Needs to be rebuild and I don’t have the money to do it. Been sitting in a field for many days now and I just wish I could ride it and pray to God and tell him to tell my daddy I did it and got it running

My dad didn’t get to teach me much he passed away when I was 13 I miss him everyday he was my hero , I’m 32 now and man I’ve had a hell of a life (in a bad way) I think of all bad things I could’ve avoided if he was still here
