I was told a month ago that my old boy (my dog) had cancer. The first thing I did when we got home from the vet was go pull my dads old truck out of the bushes and ordered a new motor so that I could go on a few last rides with him the truck should be up and running this weekend so I’ll look forward to listening to this song and cruising down an old backroad with him
This song hits so close to home! It's relevant to me today, and floods my mind with memories of my past. As a father of 3 in my mid 30's I find driving my truck to a quiet place in the hills one of the best ways to calm my mind, pray, and gather some patients. Feeling inadequate, overwhelmed or discouraged; and some time in my truck can do a lot to fix that. I have a great job and a newer truck, but that doesn't exempt me from the pains of life. This song makes me want to slow down, take a step back, and appreciate what I have. Thank you for the song, Riley!

My grandpas and grandmas had 5 and 10 kids and they did great! My sister has 2 kids and 2 stepkids that are older but it still counts and it can be done, no matter how many you have because they will grow up fast. Just cherish the memories, boss! 🙏

Country music keeps changing, not a fan of that new stuff. The only backroads shit that'll never change is Bluegrass. It is so unique to where if it is changed it either will sound like trash or is in a new genre of music. I also like Caitlin Canty, she is like country and bluegrass at the same time.

You couldn't give me enough money to part ways with it and I get compliments daily about the restoration and condition. I'm just an old soul livin' in a new world...
My grandpa passed away a few days before my senior prom. I remember going out on a ledge overlooking a big creek alone and crying my eyes out in an 84 Chevy. I skipped my senior prom to be with family. No matter how long ago it was or how many times I hear this song, I still get teary eyed during the chorus. I agree 100% that it does hit hard. Especially when you see that you're not the only one who went through this and did the same thing.

I got a 13 F-150 5.0 my dad gave to me at 18 right before I graduated high school. Got me through 2 moves, a relationship, a heartbreak, and 55 lbs of weight loss. Even went on a 1200 mile road trip last February. The truck is a piece of my life over this wild time. It's got 160K on it now and likely taking it to graduate school with me out of state. It hurts bad to fill it up but I don't think I can get rid of it unless it kicks the can.
I spent the last few hours listening to old country. Strait, Tritt, Rogers, all them good ol' boys. Makes me a little sad, because their country ain't the kind playin' on the radio. But then I hear this, and I'm happy again. It might not sound quite the same, but the feelings, and the experience, reminds me of them.
