Pinarayi Vijayan is curiously “untouched” by central agencies. Rahul Gandhi’s grandmother had jailed leaders during the Emergency when she “suppressed the entire country”.
During a general election, you don’t expect allies to be saying these things about each other, but that’s precisely what’s happening between Gandhi and Vijayan in the run-up to voting in Kerala.
When Another Election Show hit Kochi’s Maharajas College, this thorny discourse repeated itself.
We sat down with students of the CPIM-aligned Students’ Federation of India and the Congress-aligned Kerala Students Union who agreed that the main goal is to keep the BJP out. Where they didn’t agree was on whether the CPIM or Congress was better-equipped to lead the charge.
We also discussed their reactions to The Kerala Story, what it’s like for two allies to be at each other’s throats, and why the BJP is, at the end of the day, their enemy number one.

I do not align with their Ideology but its good to see Ideologically Alive students in India, having following election coverage across channels and last days saw few north student discussions in Hindi channel Lallantop including my home state students and they are ideologically dead they have given in to the narratives their point of discussion was narratives set all wings left, right or center.. There is ray of hope for students and future of India like these to change their ideology in coming days but those who are dead ideologically and are zombiefied narratively its a gone game.

I am not an expert on this subject but i can say with confidence that Kerala is a v unique state in the sense that it has a lot of its population working outside. Primary reason being not good enough employment. So, they all go out. This is kind of an identity of Kerala. The people staying back would have been happy if they d have got a chance to go out. Their main issue might be influx of cheap labour from northern states.
I am not sure how can anyone solve such a complex problem the state is facing. Whether it is even a problem, who can say. Because center would always be happy if foreign exchange comes in.
Unique state with no employment opportunities and people come to my state Karnataka for education, jobs and to use medical facilities.

In Kerala, hundreds of intercaste or inter religion marriages happen every year. Nobody is bothered. There are thousands of such couple leading happy life. We may be worshipping different Gods according to our upbringing but we have one culture. Unlike North India where people live in religious clusters segregated from one another, in Kerala ours is a mixed population living intermingling. Unlike North India, our forefathers were not forced to worship Islam or in that matter the Christianity. Fed up of castism and superstitious believes and worship of numerous Gods in a confused atmosphere a section of our forefathers found peace and solace in Islam or Christianity. And wherever we go we are Malayalis, caste or religion not matters.
RSS with mainly Maharashtrian conservative Brahmnical ideology can't digest our unity. Since independence they are attempting to break our harmonious living. So we believe they are the real threat to the unity of our country. No Pak or China. This internal threat, if not eradicated is going to divide India again.
We are an inter religion couple living a wonderful life since 34 years with our highly educated and professionally well settled daughters and son in laws. We pray to the almighty God to bless us with rebirths again and again as couple so that we can live happily again and again with the blessings of all Gods.

No dude it depends on the student, I been in both south and North Indian school, there were students who can speak English very well and students who couldn’t frame good sentences.
Plus most students in the north study under the CBSE curriculum but in Kerala most students study state syllabus. So, if you were to compare the then you should compare government schools in UP and Kerala, in that case Kerala would have better English.

Have to say the level of English education at state level has gone down in Kerala. Shocked to see how kids are struggling to speak. This wasn't the case before. I am sure they would have been able to put their thoughts out more coherently in Malayalam. A redo in Malayalam is needed with subtitles.

For Kerala this is shocking, had it been any other part of India it would have been not such a shock. We pride ourselves in the quality of our education. This isn't about them not having a great Accent or correct grammar, it's about how they struggled to express a coherent opinion in English

Do not think Kerala is super secular and a paradise where BJP has no base or influence like Andra Pradesh or Tamil Nadu out of 51% Hindus almost 20% vote for BJP.
Thrissur(city of Shiva)and Thiruvananthapuram(city of Vishnu) and Pathanamthitta(city of Ayyappan) these are religious cities where people identify themselves as Hindus and where BJP has atleast 30% of votes.

Actually everyone have pre conceived notion about kerala , some people think about the state as isis recruitmentn state, some think it as a temple of secularism, both of this are not really true, yes I accept isis recruitment happend but not all kerala muslims are bad , some are really wonderful persons, you can find radical one also.Kerala hindus are nothing much religious,, but at the same time we are not that secular when comparing with religious hindus of TN.TN hindus are more secular in south india, Andhra has less bjp presence , Kerala bjp is may not be winning any seat but it not so irrelevant as in Andhra,and may be strong in South india after Karnataka.
