nava80000, thanks for putting all these videos together. I started out clicking on the cool f-14 afterburner video clip, only to see the next click on link for this one. Glad you have this list of great videos so I don't have to search them all. Just what the doctor ordered. Even though the f-16 falcon, f-14 Tomcat, and the awesome f-15 eagle are all too cool for school, the first jet fighter I ever fell in love with when I was a kid was the f-4 phantom. I know it's old and was primary used back in the Vietnam time, but I think the body is so tough looking, like a combination of a flying Makko and Great White shark in the sky................Great video again, love the afterburner action. General Dynamics sure made a great plane. SO many countries fly this baby now a days.............

"Ripple" Formation...they do this when the visibility isn't good enough to get the Diamond off the ground in one piece. (Check the cloud cover in the background.)

Diamond formation isn't in place during takeoff run, but once airborne, T bird 4 takes its place behind leader. Finger formation is what the takeoffs are in normally. First TB show I ever viewed in 1965 Hanscom AFB MA, when F-100D was the aircraft in team use.

Fortunate enough to have flown two of the type of aircraft the Thunderbirds have used. It's tough to have to sit in anything else afterward.

Nice but the Blue Angels are still the best of the best. Always been and still are. They fly more precise and closer together in formation, do a dirty loop w gear extended, etc. and do NOT wear G suits.

    • @jrftworth

You're delusional. the Blue Angels performance is very sloppy and distracting. The solo jets perform stunts while the main bunch are doing another stunt at the same time. The Thunderbirds do their stunts at show center so you don't miss anything. Oh and they fly just as close to each other as the Blues do.
