- Mounted some aggressive tire setups on my new Volk Racing TE37s SL and they clear on the Lexus IS AWD! These Continental Extreme Contacts summer tires look super meaty and clean on the IS.
Tire Specs:
F: 265/35/18
R: 275/35/18

If you run a +35 you can run that setup fine and like -2.7 camber
Yeah I didn’t want to go anything above 35. I was going to do 22 but then I would have been forced to go stretch tires specific to the IS
@@Und3rgroundLex ya It’s a headache lol I’m finally on 255 35 18x9.5 and 275 35 18 x10.5 +22 all around it was too much rubbing with the 285s on the back but I’m done I lowered it more and got a good alignment and I rarely rub unless it’s a big ass dip or bump only thing I don’t like is rear camber is -3.5 because I’m like tucking almost and that offset I wish I would have for +33 or something all around
I forgot you got front fenders that are probably a lil bit wider too I wish they made nice 2is fenders I don’t wanna do isf fenders
@@Jdmtwofortysx yeah for sure you got an aggressive setup lol. And tbh I feel I still would have cleared even with my oem fenders cause that’s also due to the height of the fronts and spring rate of the Coilovers.
265/35/18 on the front wouldn't that affect the AWD system because stock is 40 to equal the rear and give the car the correct height and rotation of the wheels for the AWD system, I have stock F-SPORT wheels on 235/40/18 and 265/35/18 which I have researched it is fine for the AWD system, you aren't worried that the tires may affect your AWD?
235/40/18 is the same diameter size as 265/35/18 which is 25’ and that is correct, but if you want to go a wider spec you have to stick with the same diameter size which is important with AWD. 275/35 and 265/35 are both the same diameter size which is 25’ too. Check this chart tiresize.com/chart/
what intake do you have? also do you think your ever going to turbo charge it
I got the F Sport Intake. If I turbo it, i would need to look for a shop that can do the custom turbo especially for the IS's.
You have any idea if this setup would work on a rwd model? Cant find exact specs for staggered
i was reading that after ceramic coating, decals and stickers won't stick. you didn't have any issue sticking your volk decal after the ceramic?
Nah so placed the decals before ceramic coating my wheels but yeah that is true about not sticking. Only issue i had was the mechanic that was mounting my tires had issue sticking the weights to balance since it barely stuck lol

What specific brembo brakes are those? Is it perfectly match or you do customization to make it fit to LExus IS?
Its from the ISF brembo brakes. For the rears you need to get the brackets tho from @350phi

Hey man. I want to get new rims for my car and switch from original staggered setup it came with to square setup, i believe it would be 255/35/18. And my rims would be 18x8. Do you know what offset i would need, theres some rims i like but when it comes to offset im not sure what i need
So for 18x8 all around, I would go for a 35 offset and if you want to go with a slighter poke then a +22 would be your solution. Also you want to want watch out also with tire specs when it comes with +22 but with +35 255/35/18 will fit no problem. I want it basically as close to stock look when it comes to how far they poke out, it basically looks flush with the fenders on the front and back with the staggered setup it came with. Square setup would be better in my opinion tho in multiple aspects so thats what im going for!! So would +30 to +35 be a good offset? That way i have more wheel options. Ive never bought rims b4 but my 16 is300 would look so much better with black wheels. I got tint and black emblems so far, i wanna black out the window trim and basically get rid of all chrome and silver on the car lol
@@aquamayne8168 Yeah I understand, and yessir! +30-+35 will be the offset you want to look for in wheels to be able to run 255s all around. Oh yeah that was probably one of the first things I did when I first got the IS lol. and nice mods! Keep it up!
Not really “meaty” sidewall is 35. 265/40 On the rears would’ve been the “meaty” look you were going for without protruding and potentially rubbing your fenders and wheel well. 255/45 on the front...
The way off the diameter tire specs especially for an AWD. Hence why I went with the specs to stick with a 25’ diameter size.
