I saw Carlos at Woodstock age 15... AND at least 20+time's.. even at the Hllywd Bowl right before it closed for COVID with my deceased husband 🌹.. memories are made of THIS 🎸💚👍🏻
Love this. I had taped all the concerts that July 13, 1985. Years later I looked for my video tapes in the family garage. My dear father taped over them....
I saw Carlos in 1988 at the "Rock am See" in Konstanz and on other events. Might be that he varies the singers according to his songs, but he did always a good choice
Somebody deceived you, Your hearts broken into pieces Right now (i,) I know how you feel I'm with you, here for you I know just what you have been Through Ooo, baby, I know how you feel But don't forget about tomorrow Put aside your sorrow And believe in me I'm waiting here deep down Inside you For my love to guide you Bring you back to me Chorus: I love you, said I love you Right now! I need you, said I need you Right now! I want you, said I want you Right now! I love you, said I love you Right now! You sit there pretty baby Why don't you stop anticipating Ooh yeah, I want to give love To you I'm standing here and waiting Your tears falling down like Raindrops Ooo, I want to give love to you But don't forget about tomorrow Put aside your sorrow And believe in me I'm waiting here deep down Inside you For my turn to guide you Bring you back to me Repeat chorus When darkness comes And it surrounds you Theres a light inside you Let it show the way No matter how far you have fallen You can hear the callin This is what is said Repeat chorus
No, latin rhythms are part of jazz for decades. He already played latin flavoured tunes with Burton (including stuff written by Chick Corea) and bossa. The first latin tune (with the percussion and stuff) by the Metheny Group was Straight on Red from 1982.
absolutely ridiculous, that their set wasn't on thte Live Aid-DVD...just boggles the mind, when you think of how much better Santana and his band was, over MOST of the acts that ended up on the DVD. I mean, really?
Pat Matheny - a guitar legend, mind you - must have experienced the worst moment of this life going up front stage with Carlos Santana. Santana is such a god that anyone would have to look weak in comparison. Maybe better would have been for Carlos to credit him at the end of the songs.
He seems like a very humble person. He probably saw at a a great honor. Even though his virtuosity and knowledge of music is coming from another place.
Santana's vocabulary is pretty limited. Metheny plays Santana out of the water in his sleep. The only guy Metheny was slightly intimidated with (as is anyone) is Michael Brecker.
If he used a different beat, I think Santana's attempt to do "heart on the sleeve" music in the 1980s might have worked better...Pat's out of place here, despite being a brother in music. "just let the music speak for itself"
I came here from 2 guitar players and I found tremendous singers!!!

Somebody deceived you,
Your hearts broken into pieces
Right now (i,)
I know how you feel
I'm with you, here for you
I know just what you have been
Through
Ooo, baby, I know how you feel
But don't forget about tomorrow
Put aside your sorrow
And believe in me
I'm waiting here deep down
Inside you
For my love to guide you
Bring you back to me
Chorus:
I love you, said I love you
Right now!
I need you, said I need you
Right now!
I want you, said I want you
Right now!
I love you, said I love you
Right now!
You sit there pretty baby
Why don't you stop anticipating
Ooh yeah, I want to give love
To you
I'm standing here and waiting
Your tears falling down like
Raindrops
Ooo, I want to give love to you
But don't forget about tomorrow
Put aside your sorrow
And believe in me
I'm waiting here deep down
Inside you
For my turn to guide you
Bring you back to me
Repeat chorus
When darkness comes
And it surrounds you
Theres a light inside you
Let it show the way
No matter how far you have fallen
You can hear the callin
This is what is said
Repeat chorus
Now this is REAL Santana.
I am pretty sure every performance on Live Aid was sent on worldwide TV ;)

my preference is jazzy :D

Yep, I mean people who recorded and shared their videos.
Carlos didn't allow Bob Geldof adding this performance on the DVD.
That is because Geldof is a twat and a half, mystery solved...

The name of the song's?
Ok, is Carlos playing a custom sunburst PRS
guitar in 1985?...
wow where did you get this clip from?
never knew there was footage available of Santana on Live Aid
Lots of the original footage was destroyed but millions watched this and it was recorded on VHS and Beta by thousands.
I still have it on old VHS video that I taped during the day.
Bad mix... Pat deserves more volume through the mix..
Quem poderia me dizer o nome desse vocalista do Santana? Ele é o mesmo do álbum Moon Flower ?
Found Waldo at 6:25
